6. Natura 2000
• It is made up of nature protection
areas in the territory of the European
Union. This network was created to
fight against the loss of biodiversity, to
stop the damage of the natural
resources and to protect the
threatened species.
• It is the main tool of biodiversity
preservation in the European Union.
7. An example of a Life project approved
in our region
• It is considered a relic and it is one of
the scarcest trees in the Peninsula.
• Until 2018 1,5 millons of euros will be
invested to try to guarantee the
natural survival, to improve and
increase the occupied area.
• 96% of the Sabina mora area is part
of Natura 2000 network.

8. An example of a Life project approved
in our country:
Iberian lynx (Lynx pardina)
The actions were focused on the
surveillance and monitoring of the lynx
areas, to improve the knowledge about
lynxes, their risks and threats, as well as
controllig and avoiding the non-natural
deads.
It was one of the first Life
projects in Spain
