Tools helped to
improve peoples
                             Stone Age Tools
In the Stone age people used different types of tools for many
lives. They didn’t different uses like digging, cooking, hunting, farming, making
have to use their clothes and making pots. They made these tools by shaping
hands to do wood for handles then to cut stone they would make a groove
everything, for in one side and put a triangular piece of wood in the groove
example; they then tie lots of string ( fibers from trees and wheat) around it
didn’t have to pull then leave it in water for a day or two. Then they would polish
wheat out of the the stone and shape it on sandstone. Now they use cooked
ground but instead birch bark (glue) and stick the sharp stone to the handle.
they could cut it so
that they didn’t First
have to plant more. machine
                                                                    to drill a
Tools also helped
                                                                    hole in
when a group of rock
hunter-gathers
would attack the Stone about to be

they could defend If people in the stone age hadn't invented tools we might not be
better. Tools helped where we are today. As soon as people invented tools they were
to improve peoples able to do things more efficiently. They had more time to do
lives and made other things like farming , that meant more food. So over all
their lives easier tools had a big impact on lives in the stone age and if tools
hadn't been created we might not be where we are today
The benefits of
farming was that
                        Stone Age Farming
people had food, Early humans probably came about
didn’t go hungry, farming when they realized that if they
they didn't have to dropped a seed into the ground, when
ration food and they they next came back to that spot,
didn’t have to use so there would be a plant, something
much energy growing or a sapling of a tree.
hunting. In the
winter they would
have enough food
because all of the
extra food they
would have stored
of some how
preserved. They also
had enough food to
go on long journeys
and that may have
been when people
started traveling Farming helped to improve peoples lives a lot. They had more
long distances. than enough food and they could sop being hunter-gathers and
could settle down in one place. This helped because they could
                          sell/trade the extra food.
Stone Age Art
Stone age paintings People might have come across art when they
probably helped us saw that if crushed berry would spill on rock or
than it did the wood that it might look like something. They
people who drew could of used crushed berries, animal blood,
them. It may have crushed up coloured pebbles or even bark. They
helped them. The could have used other things but they probably
advantage of having used their fingers to paint. Stone age people
art was that we Cave probably only painted on rock or on trees.
know what animals painting
                       of a horse
people had to deal
with or the ways
people died.
Another Advantage
was that if people
were drawing on
cave walls they Without Art we would not know as much as we do about people in
might draw rituals the stone age. One people learned to draw they would take it up as a
or ceremonies that hobby and draw more things on caves and since rocks don’t rot or
they used to have. disappear they would be there for ever and we would know what they
ate, their religions and what their environment looked like. We might
even be able to tell why they built certain structures or how many
people died. With out art we might not know as much as we do!
