Notes de l'éditeur
ACC/AHA have been two of the leading forces in creating guidelines for the implantation of pacemakers and ICDs. The most recently published guidelines were published in Sept/Oct 2002. Many other countries have used these guidelines as a model to revise their own guidelines for ICD and pacemaker implantation. (In addition to the classification in Class I, II, or III, each indication has a level of evidence, based on the volume of literature published on the subject.)
All recommendations assume that patients meet all the bulleted requirements, unless otherwise indicated by an “or” in the statement.
