3. Basics.. The governments of the United States and the United Kingdom asserted that the possibility of Iraq employing weapons of mass destruction threatened their security and that of their coalition/regional allies. On the 17 th March President Bush gave Saddam Hussein and his sons 48 hours to leave Iraq or face war. On March 20 th 2003, a military campaign began with the invasion of Iraq and toppled the regime of Saddam Hussein in 21 days of major combat operations. This was lead by troops from the United States under the administration of President George W. Bush and the United Kingdom under the Prime Minister Tony Blair. Also smaller contingents such as Australia and Poland invaded alongside the USA and the UK.
4. What caused the conflict? Allegations that Iraq were holding nuclear weapons by not allowing the UN’s inspections to go ahead properly, America and the United Kingdom invaded. Two years after the conflict started reports were shown that America had seized 500 nuclear weapons! This information above suggests that if Saddam and Iraq had nothing to hide then why did then not approve to the UN’s inspections? This shows that they must have had something to hide..
5. What happened next? Just after the invasion, Hussein’s government was toppled just days into the Iraq war! The Iraqi hostages were freed from the dictatorship of Saddam Hussein- he in fact when he was found, he was hung. This meant the people of Iraq were set free of his regime. The rest of the world benefited from this as there was no longer the threat of weapons of mass destruction.
6. Has the conflict been resolved? In a way the conflict has sort of been resolved as the United Kingdom pulled out of the war in July 2009. Also American troops have stopped Combat fire recently too. However there will be a large amount of troops based around Iraq. These will be used to assist the Iraqi military and police and help to train them up. In the opinion of the UK and the USA, they had the right to invade as it it involved the welfare of many millions of people if the nuclear weapons were to be used. Weapons of mass destruction shouldn’t be used, and we have made the world a safer place because of it.

8. What the Iraqi’s believe? The Iraqi's believe that the UN entered their country illegally. The civilians also believe that they were the ones who were attacked. Some Iraqis are so desperate to get the war over, that they actually become suicide bombers just to help the United Nations finish their job! The Iraq’s cant understand that now Saddam Hussein is now dead, why are the UN still in their country?!
9. Death toll? Although there isn't an actually number of the civilians killed, one news company reports that over 2 million innocent Iraq’s died during this conflict.
