Audience
The target audience would be young adults as
these people use social media
Purpose
The purpose of my social media page is to find new music that they will
like. Furthermore it’s a way that people can listen to music whilst they
are traveling. People can also make an account on the social media so
they can talk to other people on the site and share their music with
other people.
On my social media you can find new songs and new artists. Also
people can pay to be able to listen to their music offline without being
connected to the Internet.
The UPS of my social media is to be able to upload your own music that
the user has made themselves and post it so other people can hear it.
Target user/membership
For my target market they would be young adults and teenagers as
they are into music and listen to it a lot. They would be around 17-35
years of age and will be a mix of male and female. The socio-economic
needs would be form C1 to E as they younger generation may not have
that much of a high paid job so they are more likely to download a free
app. My target audience would be explorers (Maslow) because these
people will explore new types of music and new songs they may not
listen to normally. the group of people to use this would be diversion
and surveillance (Katz) because they will want to escape everyday life
and listen to their favorite songs.

‘Recordr’. It has a simple
layout with purple and
white. I have chosen these
colours because it has the
connotations of luxury.
Final Draft
I chose this design idea because it looks professional. Also the colours that are used are different to the
other social media sites with the purple and white. Furthermore, I like the name of the app ‘Recordr’
because it is unique and it stands out. Also it’s a simple names is this means people will remember it. The
purpose of this app is to make it easier to make finding music for the user. The content on the app will
include new music and to be able to search for songs that the user has heard. This is what would also be
on my homepage features as well as to links to a profile page and all the legal and ethical guidance. I
have chosen the name ‘Recordr’ because this is to do with music which connotes that the app is an music
social media. The slogan is ‘the easy way to find music’, this says to the user what the app does straight
away by just simply reading the slogan. ‘Recordr’ competes with Spotifiy and Soundcloud because these
are two big music social media apps. Furthermore convergence would be kept simple with videos and
images. The layout will be kept very simple so it will be easy to use and navigate around the app. The
colour scheme will be purple, black and white because no other social media platform really uses these
colours together. This will make the app unique. The colour purple connotes luxury and wealth which
means that the app is a luxury to use and is well designed. Finally, the target audience would be a
younger generation and young adults as these are the type of people who generally use social media.
The socio-economic needs would be C1-E because younger people wouldn't’t have that well paid of a job
or a high ranked job. For Katz could have people labelled under diversion due to the fact that listening to
music to escape everyday life.
Colour Scheme and Logo
I will be using the font ‘Doctor Glitch’
for my masthead because this font is
unique. The font for all the other text
will be regular font because it looks
clean, also I will be keeping this
throughout the app because it looks
professional to keep the same font all
the way through the app. For my
colour scheme it will be the same as
the colours for the logo and masthead.
The colour scheme is quite simple with
purple/black/white.
Photoshop Drafts/Mock ups
These are my graphic layouts that I have created
on Photoshop. It has a simple look to it and isn't
too much for the user to look at. For the login/sign
up page it is very simple and easy to use, also it
invites people to sign up with a big button to be
able to sign up, this is welcoming for the user. For
the home page it has three different options for
the user, home/what’s new/search. This are all on
a navigation bar so it is easy for the user to
navigate around the app. In the top right of the
page is the profile image, name and notifications
for the user. In the bottom write of the page is a
sign out button for the user to be able to sign out
of their profile. Finally, in the top right is the logo
and masthead to keep the house styles going so it
look professional and the user can recognise the
social media.
Conclusion
In conclusion, I have chosen to do the ‘Recordr’ product idea. This is
good because everyone likes to listen to music all the time and you
hear it all the time. Music is a big part of people lives as they listen to it
all the time and most. This is because people use this to escape
everyday life and it helps people with stress and other problems.

The slogan is ‘the easy way to find music’, this says to the user what the app does straight away by just simply reading the slogan. ‘Recordr’ competes with Spotifiy and Soundcloud because these are two big music social media apps. Furthermore convergence would be kept simple with videos and images. The layout will be kept very simple so it will be easy to use and navigate around the app. The colour scheme will be purple, black and white because no other social media platform really uses these colours together. This will make the app unique. The colour purple connotes luxury and wealth which means that the app is a luxury to use and is well designed. Finally, the target audience would be a younger generation and young adults as these are the type of people who generally use social media. The socio-economic needs would be C1-E because younger people wouldn't’t have that well paid of a job or a high ranked job. For Katz could have people labelled under diversion due to the fact that listening to music to escape everyday life.
  • 7. Colour Scheme and Logo I will be using the font ‘Doctor Glitch’ for my masthead because this font is unique. The font for all the other text will be regular font because it looks clean, also I will be keeping this throughout the app because it looks professional to keep the same font all the way through the app. For my colour scheme it will be the same as the colours for the logo and masthead. The colour scheme is quite simple with purple/black/white.
  • 8. Photoshop Drafts/Mock ups These are my graphic layouts that I have created on Photoshop. It has a simple look to it and isn't too much for the user to look at. For the login/sign up page it is very simple and easy to use, also it invites people to sign up with a big button to be able to sign up, this is welcoming for the user. For the home page it has three different options for the user, home/what’s new/search. This are all on a navigation bar so it is easy for the user to navigate around the app. In the top right of the page is the profile image, name and notifications for the user. In the bottom write of the page is a sign out button for the user to be able to sign out of their profile. Finally, in the top right is the logo and masthead to keep the house styles going so it look professional and the user can recognise the social media.
  • 9. Conclusion In conclusion, I have chosen to do the ‘Recordr’ product idea. This is good because everyone likes to listen to music all the time and you hear it all the time. Music is a big part of people lives as they listen to it all the time and most. This is because people use this to escape everyday life and it helps people with stress and other problems.
