My Experience With My Friends
Growing up I could identify my friends whom I found to be more sensitive, friendly and
imaginative. These were the friends that I could turn to when I had a problem I needed to talk
through or someone who was sincere and honest in their advice while being mindful of my
feelings. I could also identify with these friends because I have always been one to make sure
everyone else is taken care of before myself. These "blues" are the most genuine people I have met
throughout life, but I have also found in my classroom. Just three days ago, one of my students
answered a question that normally does not volunteer to participate. He answered correctly and his
fellow peer whom he is not within the same social circle could not be more proud of him. She was
astonished and proud of his answer and continued to whisper (loudly) across the room good job with

My way of life has never been what anyone would call normal. It's only second nature to hear the
words "peculiar" or "weird" when describing my family and friends. The funny thing is, it really
doesn't bother me. If everyone were the same or what the world refers to as normal, life would be
pretty boring. There are several contributing factors as to why I am the way that I am, but more
recently, I can say that a group of friends that I became close to during my senior year of high school
had a big impact on the person I am today.
I know that I wouldn't have even been associated with these friends if it were not for my upbringing.

Many people think of us as different and odd, which I'll be the first to admit, we are. Fortunately
we don't see that as a negative thing. Hard as it may be to believe, we don't want to be like
everyone else. We don't do many things that may be considered "normal" to most people, leading
others to think we are restricted by all of our rules. On the contrary, we don't have to worry about
the consequences that come from doing things that are "popular." It's also nice that people can
know the difference between someone from our church and everyone else in the world, just from
how we act. Nothing in the world could compare to the joy that I have found from the church.
Plus, if I wasn't a member, I would probably never have met my friends. Being in the minority, my
friends and I have made the most of all we have, and sometimes even take our "weirdness" to new
levels.
These friends have given me an experience that has helped shape the person that I am today. I
didn't always like to step outside of my comfort zone. I used to have a twinge of fear that people
would secretly think I was an idiot, which used to bother me. Thanks to my friends, they made
acting stupid seem like the greatest thrill of your life. I'd known most of my friends since my
freshman year in high school through activities and classes at church, but I never really did anything

Being my own best friend would help me reflect on my decisions and thought processes as an
objective observer. As any best friend would do, I would try to give myself advice, try and help
myself be a better individual. If I were my own best friend, I would advise myself to stop being such
a perfectionist in everything.
I overthink things way too often: "If I hang out with my friend after school today, would I have
enough time to finish my homework? Which is more fun: going out with my friends, or staying at
home?" If I do this, if I do that. Whenever there 's a decision to be made, my mind can never make
itself up; it always seems to want to go through every possible outcome to decided which is the best
one – the perfect course of action. I can't count the number of times my mind has been so
indecisive, though I do remember stepping down as a presidential candidate in elementary school.
For the life of me, I can't remember why I did what I did; I was probably afraid of some sort of
backlash, or of simply not winning. If I were my own best friend all those years ago (especially if
I were the age I am now), that would not have happened, at least not without reason. As my own
best friend, I would tell myself to make up my mind. I would urge myself to stop thinking of the
worst–case scenario, because I am usually wrong; things almost never happen the way I think they
will.

Out of anyone in my life, my sister is truly the person I respect and look up the most We have had
our ups and downs but she is always there for me when I need her and I am always there for her
when I can be. She's my sister, best friend but most importantly my twin sister. She's the one I
grew up with, the one that's always there for me. We have a bond that nobody or anything could
break. As close as we are today I can say I would be completely lost without her.
My sister and I have moments where we both feel weird whenever we are not around each other
because as I twin we feel like we can't be separate for one minute. Either of both of us will start
