3. Background Information About District
Dandakaranya of epic Ramayana was nothing but Dang
District of Gujarat State. The historical District is the
only District of State with dense forest. Total 311
villages are covered by Dang, where even to day 75% of
population is living below poverty line and 98%
population is scheduled tribe, statistics show that long
path of Development is still unexplored.
4. Demographics
The Population of Dangs District as per 2011
census is 2,26,769 (Male-1,12,972 Female –
1,13,793 and other 04) . About 94% population of
the District is tribal population. About 73.84% of
the total population falls in BPL category. As per
socio-economic survey 2012 , the population of
District is 253,353. Around 30,000 people
migrate to nearby distinct for employment in
sugarcane cutting and grape yards during
September May every year.
5. Culture
Dang Darbar : Dangs Darbar is a three-day annual cultural
extravaganza coinciding with the Holi festivities. The festival
is celebrated in the Dang district, located in the Saputara Hills
of India. A conspicuous festival of Dang tribe, inhabitants of
wooded region Saputara, the Dang Darbar is celebrated just
few days before Holi. The exact venue of this festival is Ahwa
near Saputara but the festival has drawn its name from the
Ahwa Darbar, a one–time venue assembly (Darbar) venue for
English ministers and mandarins during the Raj era. Now, the
name has been changed to Jamabandi Durbar and the District
Collector officiates at it.
Languages & Dialects : Language of people of dang district
is basically konkai, Although they are familiar with gujarati
and marathai, As we share boundary with maharasthara state.
6. Problems:
For addressing the problem of district first to survey the problems
of the district that are distributed by the district development
officer.
For gathering the information from Village panchayat, Taluka
panchayat and District panchayat with the help of VLWs,
Extension officer and coordination of farmers.

1. Lack of Irrigation facilities

9. Different strategies should be developed for solving the problems of
District.
1. Lack of Irrigation facilities and drinking water:
Aware the farmers about the use of drip irrigation and it’s advantage
and how to increase the production by using drip irrigation.
Give information about different scheme provided by Govt. on using
drip irrigation.
Build up the small check dam for saving and provide water to
farmers in off season.
2. Lack of Proper market facilities:
Invite different traders and merchant from different area or region to
purchase district product to increase marketing of products.
3. Low standard structure of food processing Unit:
Take a aggressive steps for standardizing the structure of food
processing unit by using modern techniques and machineries.
10. 4. Lack of Awareness of farmer to plant protection measures:
Make a demonstration regarding plant protection knowledge
to farmers.
Create the seminar or meetings about how to manage Pest
and Diseases in field.
Extension officer will arrange the meeting and invite SMS
(Subject matter Specialist) for providing information.
5. Lack of knowledge of different Govt. Scheme and
subsidy:
Aware the farmers about the different scheme and subsidy to
increase production and increase the income.
6. Low level of Storage structure & less facilities (Cold
structure and organic production):
Improve the structure and capacity of the storage structure
because the major vegetable and organic market
11. In dangs there are 3 talukas.
From that 3 talukas 5 villages are selected and from
that 5 villages from each taluka are selected for making
as a model village.

Improve extension work in this village
Watershed management
Check dam and farm ponds
Provide high yielding varieties
Develop concept of IPM, IDM and INM

16. For the development of district and for getting successful
project should be based on timely arrangement of particular
work.
1st year :
Build up of check dams in summer in area where lack of
irrigation facility.
Installation of drip irrigation in important crop in area where
low level of water table.
Improvement and development of storage structure in
different talukas Sabarkantha district.
2nd year:
Invite the merchandise, traders and wholesalers of different
product from different area during harvesting.
Installation of machinery for food processing like potato etc,.
17. 3rd year:
In this year maintaining, monitoring and renovation of
above structure and project.
4th year:
Same as 3rd year and results.
5th year:
Improvement if needed.
Note: Meetings and seminar in every year at particular time
interval.

Note: Farmers income before Five year was 745.00 lakh and after implementing
the project (After five year ) Farmers income should be arrround 1500.00 lakh
(approx double).
19. Risk analysis
Above plan is well suitable for doubling the farm income
but if project might be failed than 20 lakh Rs. Is remain
used for another project plan.

20. Evaluation
Project plan is cent per cent efficient.
Our aim and objective is full filled by this project in 5
year (2022) as data mention in Cost benefit analysis.
So, this plan is useful for further development by third
party.
