This document introduces Philosophy for Children (P4C) and how it can be used within a Learning Challenge Curriculum (LCC). P4C uses philosophical inquiry and discussion to develop students' thinking, language, and social skills. It follows a structured process involving presenting a stimulus, individual reflection, sharing questions, and a collaborative discussion using techniques like caring, collaborative, critical and creative thinking. The document argues P4C aligns with and enhances LCC by stimulating prior knowledge and reflection, and suggests ways it has been successfully implemented in one classroom by following discussion rules and scaffolding student responses.
