Academic History
• Through my academic history years I attended Selby High School which I studied media,
business and photography my main subject from this was media which helped me to prepare
for each of my chosen course this is because I had a lot of background information and
already knew certain skills I needed for the course as I also passed this subject in school
which was a bonus for me. I then started my first year in college and chose Level 2 Media
Studies because of the amount of subjects I achieved and to gain a lot more experience in
certain areas for example photoshop skills as I didn’t know much within this specific area but
after my year of level 2 photoshop is an app which I love using now and have gained a lot
more basic skills like how to use the app and what icons are for which type of editing. I also
chose the level 2 course to mainly get an idea as to what this course is about and what type
of experiments I will complete and what I learn from this which by the end of this I decided
on progressing to the 2 year course. This made me want to progress to this because of how
much I enjoyed designing and creating products or advertisement and using social media e.g.
websites to create my own brands and I felt this could be the perfect option to get me in the
right direction of my future.
Current Study
• I am now currently in my second year of college and studying Level 3 Media production and
Technology in this course I have been currently learning new skills which include both
practical and written which I like mixing between these. I have just finished my first year of
this course and will be moving into my last year in college as I just finished my Final Major
Project which I focused on the print side to media and both magazine cover and two page
spread plus a website based around my passion which is fashion. From this I learnt a lot of
editing skills with exposures and also designing websites which was something new to me
and I really enjoy this, I also completed to other projects beforehand which included a music
video and print magazines creating a video was also something I have never done so it was
great to gain experience and get to learn more into the premier pro app which will be useful
in the future. All these projects have helped me prepare for my chosen course in university
because I was unsure on what part in media I enjoyed and from my FMP I was able to gather
that I enjoy the print side of advertising magazines and websites which I have now picked
specific course for university which include this and this is why I will be continuing into m
second year as I have chosen that university could be a high option for myself.
The Future
• From the chosen course at university (Fashion Promotion) I am looking to progress with the
new skills I have learnt onto working for a company for example managing the social media
or designing their websites or graphic design for more experience and to hopefully have my
own brand business. I have chose a sandwich year with my university course therefore I will
have a year working for a company gaining more experience and what its like to work for
these well-known brands which could be international or in a city in the UK this could help
me to get more out there with these brands and could help with getting a job after I finish my
degree. The main course location I am leaning to the most is Manchester Met which is also a
great location of the biggest brands such as PRETTYLITTLETHING so I wouldn't struggle with
finding work experience. Creating my own clothing brand is a goal for me in the near future
as I do want to gain more experience with the fashion industry and look more into how other
brands represent themselves and their competitors because this will become more helpful
when it comes to creating my own.
Outside College
• When I'm not in college I like to keep myself busy by working my part time job in retail at a
shop called Neon Sheep which I enjoy because there's new tasks everyday and I work as a
team within the shop which I work well communicating with others and meeting new people
which is a process within university .I also design some of the shop by choosing what goes
where this would be great for my university course because it gives me more experience with
advertisement and designing. When I am not working I spend time with family and friends
and going shopping which is a great chance for me to see brands operate and what trends
they come out with which I can also do with my part time job.
Conclusion
• Overall, I want to go to university to experience new skills and it will help me gain more
knowledge in the media industry which will relate towards fashion but I will still be
completing similar task which included media studies as in college this is something I enjoy so
I will be ale to expand this and learn much more. I also want to go because I will be able to
get my work out there more with the different big brands and have more of a chance to get
my career going especially if this is in a well-known city as more people are able to notice
myself and my work. This will give me opportunities when I complete my sandwich year
which I can really experience a day in the life of how my career could plan out to be like.
Introduction
• I am wanting to go to university to study my chosen course relating to fashion promotion
and/or branding because I want to learn new skills which revolve around social media and
advertisement, designing to then focus on my job career of having my own business and
brand with this experience I will gather together my own ideas and create my goal for the
future.

  • 12. Academic History • Through my academic history years I attended Selby High School which I studied media, business and photography my main subject from this was media which helped me to prepare for each of my chosen course this is because I had a lot of background information and already knew certain skills I needed for the course as I also passed this subject in school which was a bonus for me. I then started my first year in college and chose Level 2 Media Studies because of the amount of subjects I achieved and to gain a lot more experience in certain areas for example photoshop skills as I didn’t know much within this specific area but after my year of level 2 photoshop is an app which I love using now and have gained a lot more basic skills like how to use the app and what icons are for which type of editing. I also chose the level 2 course to mainly get an idea as to what this course is about and what type of experiments I will complete and what I learn from this which by the end of this I decided on progressing to the 2 year course. This made me want to progress to this because of how much I enjoyed designing and creating products or advertisement and using social media e.g. websites to create my own brands and I felt this could be the perfect option to get me in the right direction of my future.
  • 13. Current Study • I am now currently in my second year of college and studying Level 3 Media production and Technology in this course I have been currently learning new skills which include both practical and written which I like mixing between these. I have just finished my first year of this course and will be moving into my last year in college as I just finished my Final Major Project which I focused on the print side to media and both magazine cover and two page spread plus a website based around my passion which is fashion. From this I learnt a lot of editing skills with exposures and also designing websites which was something new to me and I really enjoy this, I also completed to other projects beforehand which included a music video and print magazines creating a video was also something I have never done so it was great to gain experience and get to learn more into the premier pro app which will be useful in the future. All these projects have helped me prepare for my chosen course in university because I was unsure on what part in media I enjoyed and from my FMP I was able to gather that I enjoy the print side of advertising magazines and websites which I have now picked specific course for university which include this and this is why I will be continuing into m second year as I have chosen that university could be a high option for myself.
  • 14. The Future • From the chosen course at university (Fashion Promotion) I am looking to progress with the new skills I have learnt onto working for a company for example managing the social media or designing their websites or graphic design for more experience and to hopefully have my own brand business. I have chose a sandwich year with my university course therefore I will have a year working for a company gaining more experience and what its like to work for these well-known brands which could be international or in a city in the UK this could help me to get more out there with these brands and could help with getting a job after I finish my degree. The main course location I am leaning to the most is Manchester Met which is also a great location of the biggest brands such as PRETTYLITTLETHING so I wouldn't struggle with finding work experience. Creating my own clothing brand is a goal for me in the near future as I do want to gain more experience with the fashion industry and look more into how other brands represent themselves and their competitors because this will become more helpful when it comes to creating my own.
  • 15. Outside College • When I'm not in college I like to keep myself busy by working my part time job in retail at a shop called Neon Sheep which I enjoy because there's new tasks everyday and I work as a team within the shop which I work well communicating with others and meeting new people which is a process within university .I also design some of the shop by choosing what goes where this would be great for my university course because it gives me more experience with advertisement and designing. When I am not working I spend time with family and friends and going shopping which is a great chance for me to see brands operate and what trends they come out with which I can also do with my part time job.
  • 16. Conclusion • Overall, I want to go to university to experience new skills and it will help me gain more knowledge in the media industry which will relate towards fashion but I will still be completing similar task which included media studies as in college this is something I enjoy so I will be ale to expand this and learn much more. I also want to go because I will be able to get my work out there more with the different big brands and have more of a chance to get my career going especially if this is in a well-known city as more people are able to notice myself and my work. This will give me opportunities when I complete my sandwich year which I can really experience a day in the life of how my career could plan out to be like.
