My Observations
Your concrete experience enabled you to describe, what you as a person. The
qualities reflect who you are. Make a similar observation of seven teachers in a school. Your
observation will be done through a survey and will produce empirical evidences. This
observation method will enhance your skills to collect data.

The observed information
Procedure:
1. To get the average, add the scores of the ten teaches then divide by 10.
2. Look at the legend in your own checklist, and determine the description of the
average.
3. Study the results.
Questions:
1. Which of the 12 attributes is the highest among the teachers?
Resourcefulness, Refinement, Cooperativeness and Reliability are the highest
attribute among the twelve attributes mentioned.
2. Which of the 12 attributes is the lowest among the teachers?
There are only two attributes noted as lowest among twelve attributes namely:
Intelligence and Emotional Stability.
3. How many teachers are low in emotional stability?
Among the ten teachers, two were found out to be low in emotional stability.
4. How many teachers are high in compassion?
There were three teachers who are high in compassion.
5. What six attributes are found to be strong among the teachers?
Resourcefulness, Refinement, Cooperativeness and Reliability are attributes
which are strong among teachers.
6. What 6 attributes are found to be weak among teachers?
Only two attributes turned out to be weak among teachers namely, Intelligence
and Emotional Stability.
7. What interesting observations can you spot from the other data not asked?
Interest to teach and willingness to share are some attributes that I spot from my
observations.
My Reflections
1. Why are some teachers reported to have bumped a learner’s head on the wall or made
of a child swallow scratch paper or pencil? What attributes do you think is low for
this teacher?
Different teachers had also different personality and teaching styles. While some made the
students confident, others would terrorize students. This diversity of teachers’ styles is the
main reason why some teachers are reported to have punished a student severely. Their
disciplinary actions differs. So, I can say that these teachers are low in temperance.
Temperance is the degree to which they control their anger. A teacher should possess this
attribute in order to cope in different classroom situations.
2. Why do you think some teachers are better loved by students than others?
My father said, good teachers are those that are average teachers. This is because intelligent
teachers can hardly lower down themselves to the level of their students. Perhaps,
intelligence may be a reason why some teachers are better loved than others. As for me,
teachers are better loved when they are kind and loving to their students; when they show
sympathy; and when they have good sense of humor.
3. If you were to choose, which personal attributes should all teachers possess?
For me, all teachers should have temperance and passion in teaching. This is because a
classroom is a war of ideas, clashing of different culture and intersection of various
personalities. A teacher should have temperance to withstand all of these. Of course, a
strong passion to teaching really helps.
My Affirmed Concepts
After reflecting on this episode, and recalling my previous subjects, I haven’t realize
that there are several concepts in the teaching profession about personal attributes. I learned
that has been and affirmed:
1. A teacher is not fit to be called a teacher, if he/she did not possess the attributes of a
good teacher. He/she must not only be physically fit but also mentally, socially, and
morally healthy to cope with the challenges in school.
2. The most important attribute that a teacher should have is passion for teaching
because if a teacher have this, all the other attributes will go along. Say for example,
if teacher A loves teaching, then he/she will stay physically healthy, mentally straight
and morally straight just to serve his/her students.
My Future Application
Using what I have learned in this episode, when I become a teacher, I should have a
passion for teaching so that I can act or play my part in the community correctly and
appropriately. In this manner, students will also pay me respect. I will also stay flexible in
critical times like when problem arises during class discussion. I will impart values at all
times by showing to them always or being a model to them in doing what is right. Lastly, I
will continue of being a student. That means, I will bear in mind that I am not perfect and my
students can teach me many lessons. I will respect anything from them.

  • 7. My Reflections 1. Why are some teachers reported to have bumped a learner’s head on the wall or made of a child swallow scratch paper or pencil? What attributes do you think is low for this teacher? Different teachers had also different personality and teaching styles. While some made the students confident, others would terrorize students. This diversity of teachers’ styles is the main reason why some teachers are reported to have punished a student severely. Their disciplinary actions differs. So, I can say that these teachers are low in temperance. Temperance is the degree to which they control their anger. A teacher should possess this attribute in order to cope in different classroom situations. 2. Why do you think some teachers are better loved by students than others? My father said, good teachers are those that are average teachers. This is because intelligent teachers can hardly lower down themselves to the level of their students. Perhaps, intelligence may be a reason why some teachers are better loved than others. As for me, teachers are better loved when they are kind and loving to their students; when they show sympathy; and when they have good sense of humor. 3. If you were to choose, which personal attributes should all teachers possess? For me, all teachers should have temperance and passion in teaching. This is because a classroom is a war of ideas, clashing of different culture and intersection of various personalities. A teacher should have temperance to withstand all of these. Of course, a strong passion to teaching really helps.
  • 8. My Affirmed Concepts After reflecting on this episode, and recalling my previous subjects, I haven’t realize that there are several concepts in the teaching profession about personal attributes. I learned that has been and affirmed: 1. A teacher is not fit to be called a teacher, if he/she did not possess the attributes of a good teacher. He/she must not only be physically fit but also mentally, socially, and morally healthy to cope with the challenges in school. 2. The most important attribute that a teacher should have is passion for teaching because if a teacher have this, all the other attributes will go along. Say for example, if teacher A loves teaching, then he/she will stay physically healthy, mentally straight and morally straight just to serve his/her students.
  • 9. My Future Application Using what I have learned in this episode, when I become a teacher, I should have a passion for teaching so that I can act or play my part in the community correctly and appropriately. In this manner, students will also pay me respect. I will also stay flexible in critical times like when problem arises during class discussion. I will impart values at all times by showing to them always or being a model to them in doing what is right. Lastly, I will continue of being a student. That means, I will bear in mind that I am not perfect and my students can teach me many lessons. I will respect anything from them.
