2. INTRODUCTION
• Pyrolysis is a thermochemical treatment, which can be applied to any
organic (carbon-based) product. In this treatment, material is exposed
to high temperature, and in the absence of oxygen goes through
chemical and physical separation into different molecules.
• This allows to receive products with a different, often more superior
character that original residue. Thanks to this feature, pyrolysis
becomes increasingly important process for today industry – as it
allows to bring far greater value to common materials and waste.
• In contrary to combustion and gasification's processes, which involve
entire or partial oxidation of material, pyrolysis bases on heating in
the absence of air. This makes it mostly endothermic process that
ensure high energy content in the products received.
3. INTRODUCTION
• Pyrolysis products always produce solid (charcoal, bio
char), liquid and non-condensable gases (H2, CH4, CnHm, CO, CO2
and N). As the liquid phase is extracted from pyrolysis gas only during
it’s cooling down, in some applications, these two streams can be
used together when providing hot syngas directly to the burner or
oxidation chamber (see « Directions of hot syngas utilization).
• During the pyrolysis, a particle of material is heated up from the
ambient to defined temperature (setup temperature of Bio green
equipment). The material remains inside the pyrolysis unit and is
transported by screw conveyor at defined speed, until the completion
of the process. Chosen temperature of pyrolysis defines the
composition and yields of products (pyrolysis oil, syngas and char).
4. BIOMASS PYROLYSIS
• Biomass. Biomass plants are often huge and complex installations
with high maintenance costs. Biogreen® can be a perfect alternative
to this. Our plant is a small footprint pyrolysis unit, which features
efficient operation, modularity, low CAPEX and maintenance and little
downtime.
• Biomass pyrolysis process offers you the possibility of obtaining all
kinds of products, including bio-oils of various kinds, biochar, carbon,
charcoal, syngas and many more. Our system can help you valorize
your biomass locally and with the greatest flexibility.
5. BIOMASS PYROLYSIS
• All type of wood forms is suitable for biomass pyrolysis in Biogreen®.
Sawdust, wood chips, shells, crops and many more products
transform into high-value resources. Char from wood pyrolysis can
make great soil amendment (biochar) or a high quality, solid fuel. Oil
is attractive for the variety of industries, including smoked food
flavors.
Biogreen equipment is a perfect choice when you are looking for
maximum process flexibility, high-quality production and easy control
over the treatment conditions according to your expectations.
6. SLUDGE PYROLYSIS
• Management of sewage sludge becomes an increasing problem for
the environment.
• Landfilling has become more and more difficult due to pollution of
the sewage sludge, odors, heavy metal and pathogens. Disposal is
difficult and has been even banned in somes countries. Also,
incineration is a nonpopular and very costly solution for sewage
sludge treatment. Our solution meets the demand for alternative,
local and low-cost sludge thermal treatment methods.
7. SLUDGE PYROLYSIS
• ETIA offers two solutions:
• 1 / Drying of sewage sludge with the KENKI dryer
- 50-1000 kg/h of wet sludge
- Sludge input: 80% moisture / sludge output: <10% moisture
• 2 / Sludge pyrolysis based on unique Biogreen process
• After drying to 85-90% DM, sludge is provided to the continuous
Biogreen® pyrolysis system. Conversion is performed in oxygen-free
atmosphere in unique construction of pyrolysis chamber, which
guarantees constant quality of product obtained from the treatment.
Produced gas can be used to produce heat, steam, electricity and
many more
