Meet Your Instructor Kathy Webb, BS Ed, RHIT Fulltime Online Instructor Little Elm, Texas webbk@otc.edu

This course will: Explore aspects of health information management and delivery of healthcare in the acute care setting Analyze health records in paper, hybrid, and electronic formats Examine documentation requirements for licensure, accreditation, and certification Provide numerous hands-on activities to enforce all aspects of this course

This course will: Focus on Data sets used in healthcare Record assembly and analysis Chart location using all health record formats Master Patient Index Physician documentation requirements Release of information Record abstracting

Discussion Board Mandatory Graded DBs begin in Lesson 3 Pay close attention to the grading rubric

Email DO NOT use the regular OTC email system for online course communication DO use the email tab on our course menu Check your Blackboard email tab on a daily basis, as well as our course homepage, for important information!
