The Center for Faculty Innovation and Center for Instructional Technology at James Madison University have a collaborative relationship to enhance teaching and learning through various programs. Some of their collaborative efforts include an annual January symposium on scholarship and research, a May symposium after graduation, teaching institutes, and technology conferences. They also work together on classroom technology services, systems research and development projects, and an online media collection called MDID to support teaching with technology.

Center for Faculty Innovation (CFI) The JMU Center for Faculty Innovation (CFI) fosters experiences and dialogue designed to promote excellence in teaching, scholarship, service, and leadership with the goal of enhancing the academic culture of the university.

Center for Instructional Technology (CIT) Our mission is to lead, support and advocate for the meaningful integration of appropriate technologies into the academic experience.

Online Course Feedback The slideshows were very well organized and when I read the text it made me feel as if I were actually in a lecture. The use of visual aids like the slide shows and the videos was especially good. I liked having defined modules to do each day. The interaction of doing the work and posting a comment about what we have learned helped solidify what I was learning. I also enjoyed reading other students posts and comments.
