• In high school CTE includes classes like:
•Business, Marketing, Networking Operations, Culinary Arts,
Agriculture, Cosmetology , Criminal Justice, Family & Consumer
Science, Health Science, Building Trades, GIS (Geospatial Information
Systems), Automotive Technology, Communications, Arts, Media
Production, Technology Education, Welding

• CTE instruction aims at developing basic skills, work skills, and
skills for specific jobs.
• CTE courses teach you skills for life and work.

During Class

• Our time is limited in FACS
• Because of this, we need to
use the restroom before class
• For emergencies:

− School 10/10 rule: No passes during the first 10
and last 10 minutes of class
− 2 emergency restroom/water passes per 6 weeks
− No agenda, no pass

At the End of Class:
• Make sure work area is clean and returned
to condition you found it…or better
• Return items to folder, place folders
together
• Log out when directed
• Wait for dismissal (Mrs. Kight, not bell)
• Push in chair
• Neatly return folders to proper spot
• Exit quietly

•Each completed Module counts as two project
grades
•Grades consist of participation, assignments,
projects and quizzes
•Each module contains a pretest (ungraded)
and a post-test (graded)
•Most of these are completed on the computer
•A written work-along booklet may also
accompany a module

workstation during each module
•Instruction is delivered through audio,
video and interactive, hands-on projects
through the FACS Module Lab website
•Headphones are provided, but students

• Read the words!
• This means instructions, assignment
details, anything written!
• You can always replay information as
needed
• You have a call light switch at your
station to request help
• Locate the call light and
test it now

Finishing a Session
• 5 minutes before dismissal, you will receive a
warning from the teacher
• At this time, you will clean up your area, log
off and return your headphones to their
proper spot
• When you are ready to
leave, turn on the call light
for workstation inspection
• After successful inspection,
you may leave when dismissed
