activities for all human beings.
 Mostly adult aged from 22-27 start their
marriage life while some couple start at
the age of 16 to 19.

 Marriage is a social union or legal
contract between people called
spouses that establishes rights
and obligations between the
spouses, between the spouses
and their children, and between
the spouses and their in-laws.
 The formal union of a man and a
woman, typically recognized by
law, by which they become
husband and wife.
Marriage decision are made by two parties:
 Parents decision: Marriage was
always arranged without the knowledge or
consent of the individuals to be married.

decision?
 Tradition (Society teaches parents of the custom)
 Financial security (Bride and groom have money
stability)
 Family’s reputation (Do want their future husband
and wife bring disgrace to family)
 Children happiness (Want children to live in the better
condition)
 Children Decision: The marriage involve with
a man and a woman will be married with his or
her consent.
 What are the factors that cause the children make
decision by his or herself?
 Love ( Love each other)
 Right ( Human right )
 There are two types of marriage.
Love Marriage
Force Marriage
 Love Marriage: a legal right for two
individuals who care and love for each
other to live together and go ahead with
their life.

 Force marriage refers to the bride and groom are
selected by a third party rather than by each other

child-in-law is career
-oriented and has a
steady flow of

 Relationship: Between the two families
become closer. If dealing with business,
it’d be more developed.
 Eliminate human rights

1. Ethic Rights: center on respecting human rights.
Article 16: Marriage
Law on the Marriage and Family of Cambodia
Article2: a marriage of too young couple or marriage by
force shall absolutely be prohibited.
2. Deontological theories: focus on acting in accordance
with moral duties and obligations.
Parents have duties to look for qualified partner for
their son or daughter.
3. Relativism: the view that moral values and moral
judgments depend on a society or culture.
In brief, force marriage is unethical
and we should not carry on practice
this in our society.
 We have no purpose to educate people to
disrespect the choice made by parents.
 We only want to eliminate force marriage
since it creates so many problems.
 We should value human rights.
