  • 3. RATE ● Rate of Speed For Teacher Talk ● Rate of Speed For Videos
  • 4. WAIT ● Researchers found that most teachers wait for one second between asking a question and calling on students to answer it. ● They found waiting 3-5 seconds dramatically improved the quality of answers
  • 5. RELATE ● Relatedness is important for intrinsic motivation ● By getting to know students, teachers learn the background knowledge they have and that they need. ● Identifying “buddies” who can assist ELL students
