Mid-term paper:
You are responsible of presenting one paper to the class.
This will be a 5 page research paper focusing on one artist or
artist group related to topics covered in class by half-term.
You must include:
-footnote/endnotes and a list of work cited.
-bibliography as well as on line materials.
- some images with notes, or at least one iconic image.
You have to discuss it to the class, share your research and
answer to Q&A session.

TOPIC 1: EARTHWORK
Analyse one artist or more whose artwork is related to the
intervention on landscape and/or by earth material.
Describe his/her ideas of “public” and the relationship with
public sphere.
Give informations about the commissioners, public, private,
personal initiative etc. Expectations or programs about the
choice of a public artwork.
Audience: which kind is the addresser of his/her work. Which
engagement they experienced.
Legacy: if the artist is contemporary, which is the legacy of the
movements of 60’s, 70’s, 80’s. Conversely, if he/she is an artist
of those decades, what could be the legacy in some practices
of today.
