1. Unit 13 – Planning and Pitching a Print based Media Product – Photo-shoot Plan
Project title:
ANTI Magazine
Project:
Project Description:
Unit 13 is the creation of two different magazines, and how these will be
produced, it also includes the creation of front covers and double page
spreads for each magazine.
Photographer:
I am going to be the photographer
I will take a medium close up, this s because I will be able to get close
enough to the person, for the readers to be ale to distinguish all his
features and details of what he is wearing, but it is also far enough away
that his upper body is in the frame, so the readers can see what he is
wearing.
The lighting will be high-key
I am not going to apply any effects, post production; this is because I want
the model to look natural, not edited.
Reference images and ideas:
ANTI means to oppose or go against Therefore the connotations behind the
name is that it goes against normal magazine convention, it is different,
more interesting and gives information that the people want to hear. Also
as the magazine is in the rap genre, a big part of the culture of rap is to go
against the system, like the police, for example, most artists reference
committing crimes in their lyrics. Therefore the name fits perfectly
2. Unit 13 – Planning and Pitching a Print based Media Product – Photo-shoot Plan
YOU SHOULD include x2-3 images of inspiration that are going to help you produce a
similarly ‘fit for purpose’ set of images for your Front Cover and DPS (Double Page
Spread)
Images HERE and then reflect on WHY these are a source of inspiration
Where else did you go to find ideas for your magazine? (Refer to your magazine of
inspiration)
Casting:
This person is suitable because they are a male, and are quite young (16), this
makes them suitable because most artists in the rap genre are male, and they are
also mostly quite young, at least under 30, there isn’t many artists that are old.
Also artists that are new and are growing are usually young, so he suits this
bracket.
3. Unit 13 – Planning and Pitching a Print based Media Product – Photo-shoot Plan
Model requirements:
Pictures (Full-Length) of what they should look like and what stereotypes they
may represent HERE.
The height of the model does not matter as I am taking a medium close up
meaning their full body wont be in the picture.
Wardrobe and Look:
The model will be wearing plain clothing which is still fashionable and
cool, this is because brands must pay to be used on the front cover of my
magazine, Instead of them being advertised for free.
Hair and Make up:
I will not use any makeup as my model is male, and I will also not style his hair in
a different way than he normally does.
Where:
The shoot will take a place at school, on any plain white wall, this is so I can
easily crop the model out of the background allowing me to place him on any
background of my choice.
When:
At daytime, this is so the picture is clear, not dark or blurry.
