14. Research Institute – Institute of Policy Studies IPS joined the School on 1 January 2008. It was set up in 1988 as an independent, national think-tank focussing on the research and analysis of Singapore’s public policies, to contribute to policy development in Singapore, to build bridges between the various stakeholders including government, business, academia and civil society and to generate a greater awareness of policy issues amongst the wider community.
