KENS Math Assessment
Test helps teachers:
1) Assess number sense skills
2) Determine the ideal starting level for each
student
3) Identify which students require increased
number sense practice & skill building
4) Assess progress in the program

Action research in the classroom showed:
•

Errors on the assessment predicted 90% of students who had
difficulties with calculation fluency.
One year later, students who made more than 1 error were not on
target at the end of first grade.
