Thesis Statement For Teen Suicide

How can teen suicide be prevented?
Thesis Statement:
Even though teen suicide is one of the leading causes of deaths in teenagers, there are many ways it
can be prevented.
Summary of Topic:
Suicide is the third leading cause of deaths in adolescents in the United States. Teensuicide is also
often referred to as a permanent solution to a temporary problem. Teens so often are suicidal and
attempt suicide as a call for help from others. They have no intention in dying they are just trying to
cry out for help from anyone that will listen. Many reasons cause teen to attempt suicide, varying
from bullying to psychological disorders. In fact, psychological disorders accounts for about 90%
of teens who attempt or commit suicide. Teenagers are also at higher risk of suicide when they are

Teen suicide is something that is endless, it will never stop but if everyone was educated on it, it
could help prevent deaths. I think with people provided with statistics and further information
can help avoid adolescent suicide attempts. I think most teen suicide cases could be prevent if we
knew the signs to look for and the ways to stop it. I believe parents would feel safer if they knew
knowledge on the issue and how to handle it. The intended audiences for this essay is parents or
friends of suicidal teens. This essay is important because, as mentioned earlier, we need to be
educated on suicide to end tons of tragedies. It is also important to be aware of the warning signs
to help prevent. This essay is relevant because teen suicide is a war that happens daily, and will
continue to happen, until we take control of the situation and do something to stop it. If family
members were informed of the cause and symptoms leading up to the attempt of suicide, then there
is less likely that teenagers would try and commit

Whilst cyber bullying is not physical it's emotional and psychological effects are devastating for
the victim and can often lead to suicide and depression (Hinduja & Patchin, 2010). Social
Networking sites act as a platform where bullies can say things they might not usually say to
someone in person, anonymity and less physical proximity act as a wall between the bully and the
victim, none the less, the words or rumors' that are shared are still just as hurtful. Bullies often feel

Titanic Thesis Statement
The Titanic may be one of the most famous and well known shipwrecks of our time. Just about
everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has
been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows
that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been
used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port
holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100%
true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story of the
Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg and sank, leading to the death of
more than 1,500 people ("Titanic" A+E Networks). It was a horrible event, but it may have all been
planned by the company that owned the ship. White Star Line owned both the Titanic and its sister

Criminal Justice: Thesis Statement
1) There are multiple goal statements (see the highlighted statement in the body of your paper).
What is the ultimate goal and thesis statement for this project?
Beyond the Borders training has a focus on shifting the church from the place of judgement and
condemnation to that of restoration and compassion, regarding individuals involved in crime in the
inner city. This is developed from the self–evaluation approach. Its goal is to produce a level of
empathy where engagement can birth another option to those who find themselves in the cycle of
crime as a result of poverty.
2) Identifying root causes and addressing them in a training program is not 'new work.' Finding a
way to decrease apathy and help the congregation move from judgment to compassion and
engagement is 'new work.' What do you understand to be the 'new work' that you are proposing?
The new work is the shift in the congregations view of those people who have found themselves in
criminal situations. This is accomplished from a self evaluation approach that causes the
congregants to reflect on their own lives in order to transform their judgement into compassion. It
creates a communal atmosphere where the hearts of the people are more sensitive to the factors
surrounding crime in the inner city...show more content...
As a church we have misappropriated the level of judgement dispensed. We understand that all have
sinned and that true discipleship requires accountability and discipline, however, the indubitable
level must be delivered in a humble and nonjudgemental manner. We must realize the greatest impact
for change is empathy, compassion and action. The only way to ensure the action is effective, one
must first hear what the people feel as though their issues are. Next we must remove ourselves from
a hypocritical place of judgement so that we can full understand and

Thesis Statement On Standardized Testing
Thesis: The effects of standardized testing have negatively impacted students across the United
States. High Stakes testing has led to a decrease in student motivation, high retention rate, and a
notable change in early dropout rates.
I.History of Standardized Testing
A. Standardized testing shows where a student stands academically.
B. High stake testing determines if a student will move forward a grade or not.
C. The legislatives thought high stake testing would improve student academics.

Although legislatives assumption was that high stakes testing would enhance understudy inspiration,
and raise understudy accomplishment, that supposition was completely incorrect. The effect of
standardized testing (high–stakes testing) has not been positive throughout the United States at all.
Due to the lack of motivation, the high retention rate, and notable change in dropout rate, it may be a
while until many states recover, especially for states like Louisiana. According to Nola, Louisiana is
tied with Florida for having one of the country's fifth lowest graduation rates, and one of the highest
dropout rates. Our society needs to come together and think of a plan that will help students, and
prevent the increasing number of kids who decide to give up on school. A system that will benefit
both students, and teachers should be created; making it better for both, students and teachers to
work together properly. With a new system student motivation may improve, the number of over
aged students sitting in the wrong grade will decrease, and the notable dropout rate will actually

meek and undervalued young lady. Maggie is so unsure that her mother says she walks like a dog
run over by a car: "chin on chest eyes on ground, feet in shuffle, ever since the fire that burned the
other house on the ground." This demonstrates that Maggie absence of self–confidence make her
frightened to look. She imagines that on the off chance that she can't see the individuals around
her, then they can't see her. What's more, Maggie's discernible scars have impacted on the way
she conducts herself. As indicated by Mama, when she was pulling Maggie out of the fire, her
arms were adhering, "her hair was smoking, and her dress was tumbling off her in minimal dark
papery pieces." This is huge light of the fact that indicates how much the flame really physically
scarred her. This additionally clarifies why she is so apprehensive about individuals seeing her.
Maggie's apparent compressed version of confirmation in herself is created basically by the fire.

The Power of Language Essay examples
The Power of Language Language plays an important role in communication by bringing people
together and enriching their relationships. Language can also alienate those who do not speak it
properly, or at all, from those who do. The essays, Mother Tongue, by Amy Tan, best known for
her book, The Joy Luck Club, and Se Habla Espanol, by Tanya Barrientos, delve into the many
powers that language holds. These essays reflect how by not speaking a language in proper form
and by not speaking a language at all, affects the lives of the subjects of the stories. People who can
speak a certain language, but only in 'broken' form, are generally looked down upon by native
language speakers. In her writing, Mother Tongue, Amy Tan writes about her

According to Barrientos, "To me, speaking Spanish translated into being poor. It meant waiting
tables and cleaning hotel rooms. It meant being left off the cheerleading squad and receiving a
condescending smile from the guidance counselor when you said you planned on becoming a
lawyer or a doctor" (561). They are not respected in a lot of communities, they live dirty, and they
have bad jobs. These stereotypes are reasons why Barrientos did not want to be called Mexican
and never wanted to learn Spanish. If diversity had been celebrated when Barrientos was a child,
as it is celebrated and honored now, she would have grown up speaking Spanish and being proud of
her heritage. Children are very impressionable and tend to take on others' opinions as their own, but
as they grow older, they develop a greater understanding and perspective of the way things are and
the way they should be. As adults, both Tan and Barrientos learned to accept and embrace the
languages that previously embarrassed them. Barrientos immersed herself in her Mexican heritage
and enrolled in many Spanish classes. With each enrollment, she faced yet another stereotype that
came with being of Mexican ethnicity; her instructors thought she should already know Spanish
since she was Latina. Barrientos is now determined to learn her native language. Tan has learned to

Thesis Statement For Pride And Prejudice
Pride and Prejudice: Essay Outline Thesis statement, including map of development: In Jane
Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice," the author traces portrait of women's role during the Regency
period: they were expected to get married, to be accomplished and to self–scarify. Topic Sentence
#1: Marriage was crucial at the time, and women of the early Victorian age were expected to
marry and to get their daughters married. a.Argument: Marriage assured social security for both the
women and the family. b.Example: When Lady Catherine tells Elizabeth that Darcy was supposed
to marry her daughter: "The engagement between them is of a particular kind. From their infancy,
they have been intended for each other. It was the favorite wish of his mother, as well as of her's.
While I their cradles, we planned the union: and now, at the moment when the wishes of both sisters
would be accomplished, in their marriage, to be prevented by a young woman of inferior birth, of
no importance in the world, and wholly unallied to the family!" (Austen 335–336). c.Explanation:
Lady Catherine's reaction demonstrates the crucial importance of marriage in the society, but also
for women. Families needed their daughters to marry in the same social class or above to insure
social prestige. Demonstrates Lady Catherine's role to protect the high class and prestige of her
descendants through marriage. For Elizabeth and her family, this union with the higher class assures
them social security. a.Argument: Marriage was a market, women needed to marry to ensure
financial security. b.Example: When Mrs. Bennet learns that Mr. Bingley is coming to town: "A
single man of large fortune; four of five thousands a year. What a fine thing for our girls!" (Austen
6). c.Explanation: Marriage was the only way for the Bennet girls to ensure financial security. Girls
are too high class to get jobs but would not inherit. Financial security also ensured future economic
security for Mrs. Bennet after her husband's death. Topic Sentence #2: Women of the early 1800s
need to demonstrate accomplishments and education. a.Argument: Accomplishments demonstrated a
woman's value. b.Example: Lady Catherine to Elizabeth: " 'Do

He ran away and "fearfully took refuge in a low hovel". (p. 83)
–Now the creature knows that it is not only his creator, Frankenstein, who rejects him, but an entire
village. He was left "miserable .... from the barbarity of man". He is not only learning that society
dislikes him, but that it is 'normal' to attack others. He hasn't known kindness in his entire life. He
doesn't even know that it exists. The second contact he has with humans, they are being violent.
They are not demonstrating any sort of reason, teaching the creature that it is normal to be violent
and impulsive.

feed it, give it exercise, give it affection, and much more. This teaches responsibilty because it
shows kids that they need to make time in their day to feed their pet, to play with it, and to walk it.

The impacts of cyber bullying for the victims can be underestimated because they are
mainly psychological and not physical. Cyber bullying in its extremes has led to the death of
several teenagers. Cyber bullying leads to depression and lack of enthusiasm for life that drives
the victim to suicide in order to escape the torment. Actually, the first step of preventing and
stopping cyber bullying starts with the individual themselves. They should respect the others and
also themselves because everyone has their human rights and no one cannot destroy it. Simple
steps like using the internet appropriately and not provoking other users are very effective in
preventing cyber bullying. Using internet as the media social is fine but trying to harm people by
spreading gossip or starting rumors and stealing someone password or hacking are bad things.

Cyber Security Breach : Thesis Statement
Wu Ka Ho – g4wukaho – L1 BA1200
Topic: scenario #3 – Cyber Security Breach
Thesis statement: In an incredibly interconnected world we all shared today, it is not unusual to hear
daily reports about aggressive cyber attacks on private and public sectors, which often results in
compromisation of personal information affecting lives of many at varying degrees; and in some
cases, the stolen information endangered the safety of countless otherwise innocent individuals. On
top of privacy infringement, exploitation of intellectual properties occasionally deals a disastrous
blow to the financial status and competitiveness of targeted companies, giving the offenders valuable
insights to leverage their wrongful intention. Nevertheless, the most detrimental form of attack are
the ones directed at corporations responsible for maintaining critical infrastructures of a country such
as power grid, nuclear facility, and public transportation. Any one of these infrastructures going under
siege would create inconsiderable economical and existential crisis threatening the country's stability,
welfare, and future.
In order to deal with ever encroaching threats at private, public and domestic levels, companies must
disclose cyber breaches to the public at appropriate time, despite issues like shareholder lawsuit,
embarrassment, and further future attacks. By promoting transparency on cyber securities, we
educate the public about safety measures on sharing private information, emphasize

Communication is important in relationships as it allows us to share our interest, concerns, support

different ways we can communicate.. When communication involves talking to our family, friends,
people in general, people tend to turn to their others first (partner, spouse, friends etc) when things
are not running so smoothly in their relationship. They automatically start pointing the things that is
or isn't doing well. People always tend to turn to their partner first when things are not running so
smoothly in their relationship. Remember, it is very easy to see other people's mistakes, but not as
easy when taking a look at yourself, it is much harder to accept criticism, even from yourself–
because no one wants to be wrong. This is where we need to get real about things. Communication is
not about who is right or wrong, but instead about helping each other see things from each other's
perspective, so that you can be on the page and avoid any misunderstanding that will cause unneeded
arguments. Communication is not so complicated, once there is understanding in addition to
understanding what the right way communicating is and what methods of communication works for
you and your communication best. Effective communication cannot happen on its own or with the
efforts of only one person.

Just about everyone learns of the tragedy in school and how it was a complete accident. Information has been found that point to the tragedy not being what we think it is. There is evidence that shows that the ship thought to be the Titanic may actually be named the Olympic, and may have been used in an insurance scam. This evidence includes pictures showing different amounts of port holes and even people working on the ship coming forward. It has yet to be proven if this is 100% true, but most would agree that all of this points to it being true. Everyone knows the story of the Titanic. The ship was on its maiden voyage when it hit an iceberg and sank, leading to the death of more than 1,500 people ("Titanic" A+E Networks). • 8. Criminal Justice: Thesis Statement 1) There are multiple goal statements (see the highlighted statement in the body of your paper). What is the ultimate goal and thesis statement for this project? Beyond the Borders training has a focus on shifting the church from the place of judgement and condemnation to that of restoration and compassion, regarding individuals involved in crime in the inner city. This is developed from the self–evaluation approach. Its goal is to produce a level of empathy where engagement can birth another option to those who find themselves in the cycle of crime as a result of poverty. 2) Identifying root causes and addressing them in a training program is not 'new work.' Finding a way to decrease apathy and help the congregation move from judgment to compassion and engagement is 'new work.' What do you understand to be the 'new work' that you are proposing? The new work is the shift in the congregations view of those people who have found themselves in criminal situations. This is accomplished from a self evaluation approach that causes the congregants to reflect on their own lives in order to transform their judgement into compassion. It creates a communal atmosphere where the hearts of the people are more sensitive to the factors surrounding crime in the inner city...show more content... • 12. The Power of Language Essay examples The Power of Language Language plays an important role in communication by bringing people together and enriching their relationships. Language can also alienate those who do not speak it properly, or at all, from those who do. The essays, Mother Tongue, by Amy Tan, best known for her book, The Joy Luck Club, and Se Habla Espanol, by Tanya Barrientos, delve into the many powers that language holds. These essays reflect how by not speaking a language in proper form and by not speaking a language at all, affects the lives of the subjects of the stories. People who can speak a certain language, but only in 'broken' form, are generally looked down upon by native language speakers. It meant being left off the cheerleading squad and receiving a condescending smile from the guidance counselor when you said you planned on becoming a lawyer or a doctor" (561). They are not respected in a lot of communities, they live dirty, and they have bad jobs. These stereotypes are reasons why Barrientos did not want to be called Mexican and never wanted to learn Spanish. If diversity had been celebrated when Barrientos was a child, as it is celebrated and honored now, she would have grown up speaking Spanish and being proud of her heritage. Children are very impressionable and tend to take on others' opinions as their own, but as they grow older, they develop a greater understanding and perspective of the way things are and the way they should be. As adults, both Tan and Barrientos learned to accept and embrace the languages that previously embarrassed them. Barrientos immersed herself in her Mexican heritage and enrolled in many Spanish classes. With each enrollment, she faced yet another stereotype that came with being of Mexican ethnicity; her instructors thought she should already know Spanish since she was Latina. • 13. Thesis Statement For Pride And Prejudice Pride and Prejudice: Essay Outline Thesis statement, including map of development: In Jane Austen's novel "Pride and Prejudice," the author traces portrait of women's role during the Regency period: they were expected to get married, to be accomplished and to self–scarify. Topic Sentence #1: Marriage was crucial at the time, and women of the early Victorian age were expected to marry and to get their daughters married. a.Argument: Marriage assured social security for both the women and the family. b.Example: When Lady Catherine tells Elizabeth that Darcy was supposed to marry her daughter: "The engagement between them is of a particular kind. From their infancy, they have been intended for each other. It was the favorite wish of his mother, as well as of her's. While I their cradles, we planned the union: and now, at the moment when the wishes of both sisters would be accomplished, in their marriage, to be prevented by a young woman of inferior birth, of no importance in the world, and wholly unallied to the family!" (Austen 335–336). c.Explanation: Lady Catherine's reaction demonstrates the crucial importance of marriage in the society, but also for women. Families needed their daughters to marry in the same social class or above to insure social prestige. Demonstrates Lady Catherine's role to protect the high class and prestige of her descendants through marriage.
