Fast Food, Cause Effect Essay
CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF THE POPULARITY OF FAST FOOD Nowadays, most people
–especially kids and young people– prefer to eat fast food, such as hamburgers, pizza, fried food, etc.
Why it has become so popular? It tastes better than homemade food? We do not believe it is only
the taste the reason of the popularity of fast food. There are several reasons why fast food had
become popular over the years. It is popular because it is cheap, quick and convenient to those
who have a busy modern life. We consider one of the top reasons of eating fast food the modern,
busy life that a big percent of families workers have. People who have a busy schedule usually do
not have time to cook at home,...show more content...
A study of The Annals of Internal Medicine indicates that more than 70% of men and more than
60% of women have extra pounds because of the consumption of fast food in large amounts. In
kids the problem gets more extreme. If kids consume too much fast food they could have high
cholesterol and obesity, then they would have higher risks of cardiovascular issues, diabetes and
heart diseases. Parents should prevent those kinds of health issues in their kids because it will be
reflected in them as adults. Food is not as simple as it seems. Once Anthelme Brillat–Savarin wrote
"Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are". We, as human been should pay attention to
what we eat because it will be reflected in the future. A lot of times we know if someone eats
healthy by just seeing them, because physically they do not have a good body, healthy skin, or
something like that. As we already said more than 50% of USA's population eats fast food for
many reasons: economy, quick service, etc., but the real problem come when we consider health.
If People should care more about what they eat and try to avoid fast food, then they will have less
possibility of diseases like high cholesterol, obesity, or cardiovascular issues and heart diseases.

Crime And Violence Essay
Crime is defined as an offensive act committed by a person that must be punished by law. In our
society, there are always some people that cannot stop themselves from doing a crime against
humanity. The crimes ranged from burglary to rape to homicide. When an individual intentionally
hurts another person physically and mentally, it is a serious problem. This type of behavior is not
acceptable because it can have an enormous negative impact on the victimized. Some people may
commit crimes out of desperation, while others commit crimes to get rich as soon as possible for
survival purposes. There are different motives for each crime, but that does not give criminals an
excuse to receive a lighter sentence. According to the Classical School of...show more content...

suddenly acts violently because she lost control and had difficulty handling her emotions properly
at that moment. Another example is a male high school dropout joining a gang and accidentally
loses the illegal drugs during his mission. When the boss finds out about his failure, he orders his
underlings to "pay the price" by beating him up to a pulp. As a result, this male high school dropout
may vent his anger towards a family member for his failure.
Although criminal behavior is learned, media consumption also played a major role in influencing
crime. Mass media is defined as a set of instruments used to deliver information to the public. This
includes the Internet, television, newspapers, advertisements, movies, and radios. When people turn
on the television, they learn what is happening in different countries and problems around their
surroundings. It raises awareness about an issue, which catches people's undivided attention. As for
advertisements and movies, people watch them for entertainment. Though mass media is a good
communicator for a large group of audience, there are detrimental effects it has on society. According
to Constructing Crime: Media, Crime, and Popular Culture (2006), it says "The media frequently
hold female victims responsible for their victimization while reducing or

Essay on The Effects of Technology on Students
The Effects of Technology on Students
Change is constant. Though one may not be able to see the change, one can look back through the
course of a year or maybe even a few months and see the change. Technology has transformed with
our culture. There are many benefits for students with the new advancements of technology. Teachers
have seen many of these benefits with the influence of technology on their students. Many students
find a sense of accomplishment when working with technology. Students are now more willing to
write and work on computational skills (Estey). Then students find these tasks appealing and are able
to achieve more. Another area that technology has impacted is the expansion of the learning...show

There are many things needed to create an environment more conducive to learning for each student,
some of which include:
Vision with support and proactive leadership from the educational system.
Educators skilled in the use of technology for learning.
Content standards and curriculum resources.
Student–centered approaches to learning.
Assessment of the effectiveness of technology for learning.
Access to contemporary technologies, software, and telecommunications networks.
Technical assistance for maintaining and using technology resources.
Community partners who provide expertise, support, and real–life interactions.
Ongoing financial support for sustained technology use.
Policies and standards supporting new learning environments.

Physical, human, financial, and policy aspects greatly affect the success of technology use in schools.
Also with the advancements of technology, students are able to communicate with their teachers
outside of the classroom. Students are able to ask questions through e–mail, alleviating confusion in
the class. Through e–mail, students can receive one–on–one attention he or she may not receive in
class due to hesitation that may be caused by other students in the class.
Another benefit technology has on students is preparation for the workplace. Traditional

Climate Change and World Food Supply Essay
The world needs to think of how the climate is changing the food supply of the earth. The climate is
doing some really bad things to the earth. The atmosphere is also not in good shape because of
climate change. Humans now need to think of how climate change is affecting people.
Climate change is affecting the food supply of the world.
The climate change is rapidly affecting the earth. The Greenhouse gases are what is really messing up
are world food supply and what is messing up our earth. Global
Warming is causing concerns because of its high content in the atmosphere already.
Because of global warming the earth is going down hill fast. We the people need to step up and take
part in the fight against greenhouse gases. Greenhouse

There are lots of pollutants in the atmosphere but the two that are important in global warming and
climate change are carbon dioxide and CFCs.
Between those two, carbon dioxide ranks number one pollutant in the atmosphere.
CFC's are bad too, but not nearly as bad as carbon dioxide. CFC's quicken global warming (Weier 1).
Greenhouse gases consist of carbon dioxide mainly and that is why we need to get rid of
greenhouse gases all together.
Believe it or not climate change affects people too. Global warming and pollution affects peoples
breathing. Lately people with asthma have had a hard tine breathing because of global warming and
pollution. Doctors have had more asthma patients in this year then in any year
(Weier 2). So now what do you people think of global warming and pollution?
The green revolution was largely based on increased energy in the form of irrigation, mechanization,
fertilizers, and pesticides.

So far the production yields in crops are negative in the low latitude countries because of climate
change. Natural fertilizer helps crops by 22 percent where as chemical fertilizers help a little better
than that but they are harmful to the soil.
Climate change can affect rainfall intensity, weather extremes, pests, and diseases. Studies have
shown that Sub
Saharan Africa will get the worst of global climate change and pollution. Also studies show that
food production will have to grow 2 percent every year to sustain the food supply

Throughout the middle of the twentieth century, until now, there has been debate over the existence
of climate change. Climate change is the increase of earth's inclusive temperature of the atmosphere,
and the side effects caused by rising temperatures. Climate change is caused by many reasons:
burning of fossil fuels, agriculture, landfills, and deforestation. Climate change is mainly caused by
greenhouse gases and humans. The effects of climate change are detrimental to earth; the effects
have lead to stronger and more intense hurricanes, a rise in temperature, and the melting of
glaciers("Global Climate Change: Effects"). Greenhouse gases are the main causes of climate
change. The sun emits sunlight which travels to earth causing it to warm up the surface, and then
the heat is radiated back towards space. This normal cycle is interrupted by greenhouse gases that
stop the heat from bouncing back into space("Global Climate Change: Causes"). The gases absorb
the heat and emit it back everywhere on earth. Because the gases are causing the temperature to rise,
it is known as the greenhouse effect. Gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect are nitrous
oxide(N2O), methane (CH4), and carbon dioxide(CO2)("Overview of Greenhouse Gases").
The burning or combustion of fossil fuels increase the amount of nitrous oxide in the
atmosphere("Global Climate Change: Causes"). Because the impact of one pound of N2O is three
hundred times greater than a pound of carbon dioxide, nitrous

Bad Drinking Habits: Causes and Effects Drinking is something that majority of grown people, and

Although drinking could be very fun, there are people that would drink for negative purposes.
Some causes of bad drinking habits are having stressful problems, and just being influenced by
others that would drink a lot. If people don't have self–control of their drinking habits, it can become
something that can affect their lives in different ways. The effects of a bad drinking habit are health

People that drinks would sometimes have the urge to want to drive while being intoxicated.
Some people are successful at driving while drunk, and there are some that are not. People that
drive drunk are putting themselves and others at risk. They could easily crash into other cars,
trees, light poles, or drive into a ditch. The police would detect drunk drivers because they tend to
swerve, drive close to the shoulder, or crash. When the police catch them, they would probably
get a charge and a ticket. They would also get their car towed and have to pay to get it back.
That's why drunk drivers would usually have a designated driver to help them. The last effect
that occurs while drinking a lot is violence. People can be very violent when they drink a lot.
When they get liquor into their system, they tend to trash talk and engage into a physical
altercation. The altercations can be very minor, such as a fight, or very major, such as a killing.
This could cause them to go to jail for a short or long time. It can also destroy someone's record
and prevent them from getting a job. In conclusion, there are people with bad drinking habits. The

The Impact of a Pandemic
The world has experienced a total of four pandemics within the twentieth century. These pandemics,
as horrific and deadly as they are, have brought so much more positive advances to our health care
system and how we prepare for biological threats. Although we are in the twenty–first century and we
have advanced so far in healthcare, there is still the possibility of a deadly pandemic. Many people
may confuse Pandemic with Epidemic which can often times lead to being over prepared or
under prepared. An epidemic as an infectious disease that quickly travels within a city, state, or
country from person to person. An example of an epidemic would be SARS, which spread
through many countries and killed roughly 800 people. On the other hand, Pandemics differ
because the infectious disease is spread globally. A pandemic has a much higher infectious rate
and an even larger death rate compared to an epidemic. The world has experienced a total of four
pandemics in the twentieth century starting in 1918 until present. In 1918, the spanish flu caught
worldwide attention when it infected close to half the population of the world, claiming more than
40 million lives. What made the spanish flu capable of infecting over a billion people was the
ability to quickly transfer from person to person. At the time, world war 1 was happening and the
mass activation and recruitment of troops to fight made the spread of the flu easy. The Asian flu of
1957 was second deadly pandemic to hit the

Cause And Effect Essay On Drug Addiction
Drug Addiction: The Effects Nowadays, the amount of drug users is growing day by day.
Unfortunately, these people are not aware of their vulnerability. Whether we talk about prescription,
OTC or illegal drugs, the excessive use of these substances lead to considerably dangerous
consequences; having health problems is the most well–known of them. However, drug abuse causes
other serious effects on people such as money and job–related problems, likelihood to engage in
criminal acts, and even potential death. People with drug issues are subject to money and job–related
problems. When someone develops a dependence on drugs, they are not concerned about how
much money they spend as long as they get the drugs they want. Consequently, people are faced
with economic problems that might lead them to misery. Besides this, having a dependence on
drugs can have a damaging effect on someone's job or career. The famous soccer player, Diego
Maradona, is a living example of this. Maradona developed an addiction to cocaine, for which he
was banned from soccer for 15 months in 1991 after testing positive for cocaine. After his
comeback, at the 1994 World Cup in the United States, he was sent home for failing a drug test for
ephedrine doping (Williams). Clearly, drugs only left an awful stain on Maradona's career. Those
addicted to drugs are more likely to engage in criminal activity. There are three types of crimes
related to drugs: use–related crimes, which occur because the drugs

Even though social media isn't only used for social interaction, it is an important aspect of
adolescents' lives. Social media provides an avenue for them to stay connected with peers they have
met through school, sports teams, church, etc (Ito, 2008). Social networking can also help shy
adolescents have a more non–threatening way to interact with peers because they aren't interacting
face–to–face (Rosen, 2011). It also provides an opportunity for teens to connect with others who
share a similar interest (Ito, 2008). Social media sites can provide a place for adolescents to share
their interests in art, music, games and blogs with others (Clark–Pearson, O'Keeffe, 2011). The teen
years can be a challenging time, and social networks can be places for teens to turn to for support
and advice when going through challenging experiences (Nielsen, 2009). Adolescents who use
Facebook have been shown to demonstrate more "virtual empathy" (Rosen, 2011). Social
networking can be a positive and somewhat easier way for adolescents to get to know and become
accepting of others from "diverse backgrounds" (Clark–Pearson, O'Keeffe, 2011). As well as
providing social support, social media sites can also provide medical support. Adolescents can
easily and anonymously seek medical advice (Clark–Pearson, O'Keeffe, 2011). Children and
adolescents are capable of impacting their communities and even the world in amazing

Population explosion, shortage of resources and the pollution are three major problems that
challenge people nowadays. While resources on land are beginning to decrease, the ocean, however,
still offers hope to satisfy people's needs for present and in the future. With the rapid development of
technology, people have extended their activity to the ocean, such as voyage by liners, exploring by
submarines, offshore drilling and sea reclamation. Although humans can benefit from doing so, the
effect of anthropogenic activity on marine creatures cannot be neglected at the same time. Marine
life can be defined as any living plant or animal in the ocean. Marine animals include squids, corals,
whales and fish, while marine plants include sea grasses and algae. This essay has attempts to show
that human activity has a generally harmful impact on marine creatures. In terms of human
activities, this essay analyzes the different kinds of actions made by human, such as adding polluting
materials to oceans and human–induced changes in atmosphere and soil. Firstly, human activity in
the sea has a generally negative effect on marine life. These activities can produce visible
contaminations on the ocean, which might cause poisoning of marine population and a reduction in
biotic productivity. Oil spills are one of the most typical human–induced pollutions. These kinds of
events such as Gulf Oil Spill in 2010 have created great damage on underwater creatures as well as
seabirds. The figures

The Causes and Effects of Depression Essay
The Causes and Effects of Depression Depression has numerous causes and effects which affect
not only the person but the people around them. Depression doesn't have a specific cause; in most
cases it's different for everyone. It is a common, treatable mental illness that can be experienced at
any time in life. It is often described with feeling sad, unhappy, miserable, or "down in the dumps".
Most people have these feelings on occasion. There are several types of depression. These different
types of depression describe slight, but often important, diagnostic differences. True clinical

than people that isolate themselves or have no one. Depression is a serious mental illness that can
be treated. Knowing the type of depression is important. A person may find the treatment that best
suits them with the trial and error process. The severity of the depression means a more intensive
treatment. Most people choose to take antidepressants rather than actually getting help with their
problem. They shouldn't rely on the medication alone; if they do it can bring unwanted side
effects. All of the depression treatments take time, and sometimes it might feel overwhelming or
frustratingly slow. That is normal. Recovery usually has its ups and downs. Depression has
numerous causes and effects. The exact cause of depression is unknown. Depression can be
genetic, triggered by stressful events, or both. A person with depression will avoid friends and
social gatherings and begin to isolate themselves. They might even start to get into trouble or do
bad things. Depression can lead to many addictions such as alcohol or drug abuse. If it leads to
something like that, then the severity of the depression can become worse. The loved

Teenage Stress : Cause, Cause And Effects
Teenage Stress Cause and Effect Essay
(DISCLAIMER: The stories and people are NOT real (except for my example). They came from my
imagination and a random name generator.)
Stress is a problem for today's teenagers. There are many reasons for stress, including bullying,
homework, and family problems. There are also many things that can happen because of stress, like
suicide, depression, insomnia, and anxiety. This is how stress happens and what can happen from it.
About 83% of girls and 79% of boys have been reported to be bullied either online or in real life.
Bullying is no stranger to me. I have been bullied before. I was bullied because of how I looked
and how I acted. This caused me stress because I wanted to be a person people would like. No
matter how hard I tried, they would still bully me. I had depression because I thought, "If I can't
look like a good person, what's the point of living." I eventually stopped thinking those thoughts
by the beginning of 7th grade. But there are the unlucky people who don't stop. Most of these
people end up committing suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teens, right
behind homicide and accidents. About 4,400 teens die from suicide every year. Also, 14% of high
school students have considered suicide and 7% of them have attempted it. I will give you an
example about a boy named Mateo, who ends up committing suicide because of bullying. Mateo
constantly gets bullied by Hunter and Mackenzie. They think they are superior to him and that they
can push him around. Mateo has been depressed lately, but when Mackenzie beat him up in the hall
and everyone laughed him for being beaten by a girl, that was the final straw. Mateo committed
suicide by cutting. He kept wearing long sleeves to hide them. Somehow, Anna, Mackenzie's "slave",
found out about Mateo's cuts and told Mackenzie. After finding out that Mackenzie knows about his
suicide attempts by an embarrassing confrontation, Mateo couldn't take it anymore. He hung himself
a few hours after coming home. This is just one example of suicide caused by stress. Homework can
be stressful in many ways. Whether there's too much, it's too hard, or you just can't get it done on
time, there are many ways that

Causes of Suicide

Suicide can best be described as the destructive act of voluntarily taking one's own life. Suicide
often presents a real and often tragic puzzle to be solved by friends and family, and any other
professionals who have been involved with someone who has committed suicide. To be able to
definitively answer the question as to why an individual would commit such a deadly act seems to
be a highly complex task. The victim himself or herself, is perhaps the least aware of the answer to
this ninth leading cause of death. Scientists have discovered that the cause of this fatal behavior can

Every year there are seven hundred seventy–five thousand suicide attempts in the United States. It is
estimated that five million Americans have attempted suicide. For every male suicide attempt there
are three female attempts. The majority of overdose attempts is unsuccessful and account for
seventy percent of suicide attempts (SFSP: U.S. Suicide Statistics, 1996).
It is estimated that for every suicide there is six survivors close to the victims that are affected. The
statistics are stunning. How can we understand better why individuals would take their own life
(McIntosh, 1997)
The conclusion that suicide is closely related to psychiatric illness is what researchers have come
up with. The three diagnoses with the highest risk are depression, alcoholism and schizophrenia.
Seventy percent of suicides would have been diagnosed with major depression. Fifteen percent
would have been diagnosed with alcoholism and four percent from schizophrenia. Researchers have
used two methods to come up with these findings. The first one, the researchers find out what
proportion of people who have committed suicide have been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness in
their past. The second method of research involves what is called psychological autopsy.
Psychological autopsy involves carefully questioning the family members and friends of the suicide
victim. These questions are in reference to the individual state of mind, mood and behavior of the
deceased

Essay on The Causes and Effects of Divorce
From past to present people all over the world have determined to live together, or "get married".
Marriage can be a beautiful thing, but some couples are unable to maintain their relationship,
because they choose divorce as a solution to cope with the problems between husband and wife.
Furthermore divorce is definitely on a rise. The effects of divorce can be detrimental to a family,
but the causes of divorce can be just as bad. In this essay we will cover one of the main causes of
divorce and one of the main effects. One of the main causes that marriages are not lasting is the
change in the roles of woman today. Prior to the 1980's it was the man's responsibility to earn

Now that women can earn just as much money as men they don't have to rely on anyone to bring,
so they can separate from their significant others a lot easier. One of the biggest effects of divorce
is the effect it has on our children. Most couples get married and have children shortly after, and
all decision made by the couples directly affect their children. Studies show that divorce has one
of the most negative effects on children. Children living in single parent homes are more likely to
be pregnant as teenagers, drop out of high school, abuse drugs and have behavioral issues.
Furthermore due to the high dropout rates of single parent children they often have hard times
finding jobs due to their lack of education. Often times we will see that children from broken
homes will also have issues maintaining long term relationships as well. Studies show that
children who parents are divorced or separated marriages will end in divorce as well. One last
scary effect of divorce is that 92 percent of inmates in California State correctional facilities are
products of single parent homes; in other words at some point when they were children their
parents either divorced or became separated. In conclusion due to changes in roles of both women
and men divorce is on the rise, and is leaving a huge negative on the ones we love most our children.

abuse as well as neglect (Compton's). Physical abuse is when a child is hurt by getting hit,
punched, kicked, or any other form of beating by an adult (Compton's). This abuse will only harm
the child physically and though it is horrific and can lead to long term effects it will normally only
lead to violence. Emotional abuse is when an adult is hateful to the child by calling him names, and

"' Child abuse and neglect is a serious public health problem which requires immediate, urgent
attention'" said Anne Petersen, a professor at the Center of Human Growth and Development at the
University of Michigan who chaired the research committee for the Institute of Medicine and the
National Research Council of the National Academies (Virginian). Neglecting children is the worst
form of child abuse there is because it will affect their physical and mental health, their ability to
control emotions, their performance in school, and their relationships with their parents, children,
and other adults all of this will hurt them continuously throughout their entire life.
Neglect comes from when children are not given the attention they need by their parents.
Whether it is a single parent home or a double parent home there can still be a large amount of
economic stress either one parent doesn't have a job and the other has a low paying job or maybe
both parents go laid off because of the terrible economy which will lead to even more neglect
(Gittins). Parents worry about bills so if they have a job they try to get more hours in order to
make rent or to buy groceries which is not a bad thing until the parent starts working so much that
they forget about their child at home alone. The parent or parents can be working too much in order
to pay the bills or them just want to go out in order to meet someone

The Causes And Effects Of HIV And AIDS
HIV and the AIDS virus is a very life threating disease that sees no race, no color, no gender, no
economic background, and not even a specific age group. It can affect anyone if a person is not
aware of the causes. Human Immunodeficiency Virus is also known as HIV, is a virus that destroys
the immune system of a person. This virus is highly contagious and can be transmitted in many ways
including: vaginal, oral, anal sex, sharing needles, and through pregnancy which is known as mother
to child transmission. Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is also known as AIDS, which can
occur if you have HIV. AIDS causes the body to be unable to fight off infections.
The first verified case of HIV is from a blood sample taken in 1959 from a man living in what is
now Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The sample was retrospectively analyzed and
HIV detected." (History of HIV and AIDS.) After the sample was brought into scientist attention,
they found a similarity between HIV and AIDS. "The area also had a growing sex trade around the
time that HIV began to spread. The high population of migrants and sex trade might explain how
HIV spread along these infrastructure routes. By 1937, it had reached Brazzaville, about 120km
west of Kinshasa" (History of AIDS.)
In 1982 CDC described AIDS as "A disease at least moderately predictive of a defect in cell
mediated immunity, occurring in a person with no known cause for diminished resistance to that
disease" (History of HIV and AIDS.)

Cause And Effect Expository Essay

  • 1. Fast Food, Cause Effect Essay CAUSES AND EFFECTS OF THE POPULARITY OF FAST FOOD Nowadays, most people –especially kids and young people– prefer to eat fast food, such as hamburgers, pizza, fried food, etc. Why it has become so popular? It tastes better than homemade food? We do not believe it is only the taste the reason of the popularity of fast food. There are several reasons why fast food had become popular over the years. It is popular because it is cheap, quick and convenient to those who have a busy modern life. We consider one of the top reasons of eating fast food the modern, busy life that a big percent of families workers have. People who have a busy schedule usually do not have time to cook at home,...show more content... A study of The Annals of Internal Medicine indicates that more than 70% of men and more than 60% of women have extra pounds because of the consumption of fast food in large amounts. In kids the problem gets more extreme. If kids consume too much fast food they could have high cholesterol and obesity, then they would have higher risks of cardiovascular issues, diabetes and heart diseases. Parents should prevent those kinds of health issues in their kids because it will be reflected in them as adults. Food is not as simple as it seems. Once Anthelme Brillat–Savarin wrote "Tell me what you eat and I will tell you what you are". We, as human been should pay attention to what we eat because it will be reflected in the future. A lot of times we know if someone eats healthy by just seeing them, because physically they do not have a good body, healthy skin, or something like that. As we already said more than 50% of USA's population eats fast food for many reasons: economy, quick service, etc., but the real problem come when we consider health. If People should care more about what they eat and try to avoid fast food, then they will have less possibility of diseases like high cholesterol, obesity, or cardiovascular issues and heart diseases. • 2. Crime And Violence Essay Crime is defined as an offensive act committed by a person that must be punished by law. In our society, there are always some people that cannot stop themselves from doing a crime against humanity. The crimes ranged from burglary to rape to homicide. When an individual intentionally hurts another person physically and mentally, it is a serious problem. This type of behavior is not acceptable because it can have an enormous negative impact on the victimized. Some people may commit crimes out of desperation, while others commit crimes to get rich as soon as possible for survival purposes. There are different motives for each crime, but that does not give criminals an excuse to receive a lighter sentence. According to the Classical School of...show more content... In this situation, she injures a bystander when things does not go her way. The young woman suddenly acts violently because she lost control and had difficulty handling her emotions properly at that moment. Another example is a male high school dropout joining a gang and accidentally loses the illegal drugs during his mission. When the boss finds out about his failure, he orders his underlings to "pay the price" by beating him up to a pulp. As a result, this male high school dropout may vent his anger towards a family member for his failure. Although criminal behavior is learned, media consumption also played a major role in influencing crime. Mass media is defined as a set of instruments used to deliver information to the public. This includes the Internet, television, newspapers, advertisements, movies, and radios. When people turn on the television, they learn what is happening in different countries and problems around their surroundings. It raises awareness about an issue, which catches people's undivided attention. As for advertisements and movies, people watch them for entertainment. Though mass media is a good communicator for a large group of audience, there are detrimental effects it has on society. According to Constructing Crime: Media, Crime, and Popular Culture (2006), it says "The media frequently hold female victims responsible for their victimization while reducing or Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Though one may not be able to see the change, one can look back through the course of a year or maybe even a few months and see the change. Technology has transformed with our culture. There are many benefits for students with the new advancements of technology. Teachers have seen many of these benefits with the influence of technology on their students. Many students find a sense of accomplishment when working with technology. Students are now more willing to write and work on computational skills (Estey). The atmosphere is also not in good shape because of climate change. Humans now need to think of how climate change is affecting people. Climate change is affecting the food supply of the world. The climate change is rapidly affecting the earth. The Greenhouse gases are what is really messing up are world food supply and what is messing up our earth. There are lots of pollutants in the atmosphere but the two that are important in global warming and climate change are carbon dioxide and CFCs. Between those two, carbon dioxide ranks number one pollutant in the atmosphere. CFC's are bad too, but not nearly as bad as carbon dioxide. CFC's quicken global warming (Weier 1). Greenhouse gases consist of carbon dioxide mainly and that is why we need to get rid of greenhouse gases all together. Believe it or not climate change affects people too. Global warming and pollution affects peoples breathing. Lately people with asthma have had a hard tine breathing because of global warming and pollution. Doctors have had more asthma patients in this year then in any year (Weier 2). So now what do you people think of global warming and pollution? The green revolution was largely based on increased energy in the form of irrigation, mechanization, fertilizers, and pesticides. Natural fertilizer helps crops by 22 percent where as chemical fertilizers help a little better than that but they are harmful to the soil. • 5. Throughout the middle of the twentieth century, until now, there has been debate over the existence of climate change. Climate change is the increase of earth's inclusive temperature of the atmosphere, and the side effects caused by rising temperatures. Climate change is caused by many reasons: burning of fossil fuels, agriculture, landfills, and deforestation. Climate change is mainly caused by greenhouse gases and humans. The effects of climate change are detrimental to earth; the effects have lead to stronger and more intense hurricanes, a rise in temperature, and the melting of glaciers("Global Climate Change: Effects"). Greenhouse gases are the main causes of climate change. The sun emits sunlight which travels to earth causing it to warm up the surface, and then the heat is radiated back towards space. This normal cycle is interrupted by greenhouse gases that stop the heat from bouncing back into space("Global Climate Change: Causes"). The gases absorb the heat and emit it back everywhere on earth. Because the gases are causing the temperature to rise, it is known as the greenhouse effect. Gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect are nitrous oxide(N2O), methane (CH4), and carbon dioxide(CO2)("Overview of Greenhouse Gases"). The burning or combustion of fossil fuels increase the amount of nitrous oxide in the atmosphere("Global Climate Change: Causes"). Because the impact of one pound of N2O is three hundred times greater than a pound of carbon dioxide, nitrous Get more content on HelpWriting.net

When the police catch them, they would probably get a charge and a ticket. They would also get their car towed and have to pay to get it back. That's why drunk drivers would usually have a designated driver to help them. The last effect that occurs while drinking a lot is violence. People can be very violent when they drink a lot. • 7. The Impact of a Pandemic The world has experienced a total of four pandemics within the twentieth century. These pandemics, as horrific and deadly as they are, have brought so much more positive advances to our health care system and how we prepare for biological threats. Although we are in the twenty–first century and we have advanced so far in healthcare, there is still the possibility of a deadly pandemic. Many people may confuse Pandemic with Epidemic which can often times lead to being over prepared or under prepared. An epidemic as an infectious disease that quickly travels within a city, state, or country from person to person. An example of an epidemic would be SARS, which spread through many countries and killed roughly 800 people. On the other hand, Pandemics differ because the infectious disease is spread globally. A pandemic has a much higher infectious rate and an even larger death rate compared to an epidemic. The world has experienced a total of four pandemics in the twentieth century starting in 1918 until present. In 1918, the spanish flu caught worldwide attention when it infected close to half the population of the world, claiming more than 40 million lives. What made the spanish flu capable of infecting over a billion people was the ability to quickly transfer from person to person. At the time, world war 1 was happening and the mass activation and recruitment of troops to fight made the spread of the flu easy. • 8. Cause And Effect Essay On Drug Addiction Drug Addiction: The Effects Nowadays, the amount of drug users is growing day by day. Unfortunately, these people are not aware of their vulnerability. Whether we talk about prescription, OTC or illegal drugs, the excessive use of these substances lead to considerably dangerous consequences; having health problems is the most well–known of them. However, drug abuse causes other serious effects on people such as money and job–related problems, likelihood to engage in criminal acts, and even potential death. People with drug issues are subject to money and job–related problems. When someone develops a dependence on drugs, they are not concerned about how much money they spend as long as they get the drugs they want. Consequently, people are faced with economic problems that might lead them to misery. Besides this, having a dependence on drugs can have a damaging effect on someone's job or career. The famous soccer player, Diego Maradona, is a living example of this. Maradona developed an addiction to cocaine, for which he was banned from soccer for 15 months in 1991 after testing positive for cocaine. After his comeback, at the 1994 World Cup in the United States, he was sent home for failing a drug test for ephedrine doping (Williams). Clearly, drugs only left an awful stain on Maradona's career. Those addicted to drugs are more likely to engage in criminal activity. Social media provides an avenue for them to stay connected with peers they have met through school, sports teams, church, etc (Ito, 2008). Social networking can also help shy adolescents have a more non–threatening way to interact with peers because they aren't interacting face–to–face (Rosen, 2011). It also provides an opportunity for teens to connect with others who share a similar interest (Ito, 2008). Social media sites can provide a place for adolescents to share their interests in art, music, games and blogs with others (Clark–Pearson, O'Keeffe, 2011). The teen years can be a challenging time, and social networks can be places for teens to turn to for support and advice when going through challenging experiences (Nielsen, 2009). Adolescents who use Facebook have been shown to demonstrate more "virtual empathy" (Rosen, 2011). Social networking can be a positive and somewhat easier way for adolescents to get to know and become accepting of others from "diverse backgrounds" (Clark–Pearson, O'Keeffe, 2011). As well as providing social support, social media sites can also provide medical support. Adolescents can easily and anonymously seek medical advice (Clark–Pearson, O'Keeffe, 2011). • 10. Population explosion, shortage of resources and the pollution are three major problems that challenge people nowadays. While resources on land are beginning to decrease, the ocean, however, still offers hope to satisfy people's needs for present and in the future. With the rapid development of technology, people have extended their activity to the ocean, such as voyage by liners, exploring by submarines, offshore drilling and sea reclamation. Although humans can benefit from doing so, the effect of anthropogenic activity on marine creatures cannot be neglected at the same time. Marine life can be defined as any living plant or animal in the ocean. Marine animals include squids, corals, whales and fish, while marine plants include sea grasses and algae. This essay has attempts to show that human activity has a generally harmful impact on marine creatures. In terms of human activities, this essay analyzes the different kinds of actions made by human, such as adding polluting materials to oceans and human–induced changes in atmosphere and soil. Firstly, human activity in the sea has a generally negative effect on marine life. These activities can produce visible contaminations on the ocean, which might cause poisoning of marine population and a reduction in biotic productivity. Oil spills are one of the most typical human–induced pollutions. These kinds of events such as Gulf Oil Spill in 2010 have created great damage on underwater creatures as well as seabirds. Depression doesn't have a specific cause; in most cases it's different for everyone. It is a common, treatable mental illness that can be experienced at any time in life. It is often described with feeling sad, unhappy, miserable, or "down in the dumps". Most people have these feelings on occasion. There are several types of depression. Knowing the type of depression is important. A person may find the treatment that best suits them with the trial and error process. The severity of the depression means a more intensive treatment. Most people choose to take antidepressants rather than actually getting help with their problem. They shouldn't rely on the medication alone; if they do it can bring unwanted side effects. All of the depression treatments take time, and sometimes it might feel overwhelming or frustratingly slow. That is normal. Recovery usually has its ups and downs. Depression has numerous causes and effects. The exact cause of depression is unknown. Depression can be genetic, triggered by stressful events, or both. A person with depression will avoid friends and social gatherings and begin to isolate themselves. They might even start to get into trouble or do bad things. Depression can lead to many addictions such as alcohol or drug abuse. If it leads to something like that, then the severity of the depression can become worse. • 12. Teenage Stress : Cause, Cause And Effects Teenage Stress Cause and Effect Essay (DISCLAIMER: The stories and people are NOT real (except for my example). They came from my imagination and a random name generator.) Stress is a problem for today's teenagers. There are many reasons for stress, including bullying, homework, and family problems. There are also many things that can happen because of stress, like suicide, depression, insomnia, and anxiety. This is how stress happens and what can happen from it. About 83% of girls and 79% of boys have been reported to be bullied either online or in real life. Bullying is no stranger to me. I have been bullied before. I was bullied because of how I looked and how I acted. This caused me stress because I wanted to be a person people would like. No matter how hard I tried, they would still bully me. I had depression because I thought, "If I can't look like a good person, what's the point of living." I eventually stopped thinking those thoughts by the beginning of 7th grade. But there are the unlucky people who don't stop. Most of these people end up committing suicide. Suicide is the third leading cause of death for teens, right behind homicide and accidents. About 4,400 teens die from suicide every year. Also, 14% of high school students have considered suicide and 7% of them have attempted it. I will give you an example about a boy named Mateo, who ends up committing suicide because of bullying. Mateo constantly gets bullied by Hunter and Mackenzie. They think they are superior to him and that they can push him around. Mateo has been depressed lately, but when Mackenzie beat him up in the hall and everyone laughed him for being beaten by a girl, that was the final straw. Mateo committed suicide by cutting. He kept wearing long sleeves to hide them. Somehow, Anna, Mackenzie's "slave", found out about Mateo's cuts and told Mackenzie. After finding out that Mackenzie knows about his suicide attempts by an embarrassing confrontation, Mateo couldn't take it anymore. He hung himself a few hours after coming home. This is just one example of suicide caused by stress. Homework can be stressful in many ways. Whether there's too much, it's too hard, or you just can't get it done on time, there are many ways that Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 15. Causes of Suicide Essay Causes of Suicide *No Works Cited Suicide can best be described as the destructive act of voluntarily taking one's own life. Suicide often presents a real and often tragic puzzle to be solved by friends and family, and any other professionals who have been involved with someone who has committed suicide. To be able to definitively answer the question as to why an individual would commit such a deadly act seems to be a highly complex task. The victim himself or herself, is perhaps the least aware of the answer to this ninth leading cause of death. Scientists have discovered that the cause of this fatal behavior can be found both within and without the individual. Whether biological, sociological...show more content... For every male suicide attempt there are three female attempts. The majority of overdose attempts is unsuccessful and account for seventy percent of suicide attempts (SFSP: U.S. Suicide Statistics, 1996). It is estimated that for every suicide there is six survivors close to the victims that are affected. The statistics are stunning. How can we understand better why individuals would take their own life (McIntosh, 1997) The conclusion that suicide is closely related to psychiatric illness is what researchers have come up with. The three diagnoses with the highest risk are depression, alcoholism and schizophrenia. Seventy percent of suicides would have been diagnosed with major depression. Fifteen percent would have been diagnosed with alcoholism and four percent from schizophrenia. Researchers have used two methods to come up with these findings. The first one, the researchers find out what proportion of people who have committed suicide have been diagnosed with a psychiatric illness in their past. The second method of research involves what is called psychological autopsy. Psychological autopsy involves carefully questioning the family members and friends of the suicide victim. These questions are in reference to the individual state of mind, mood and behavior of the deceased Get more content on HelpWriting.net

I 'm therefore against social media and its extraordinary use. That is why there are lots of advantages and disadvantages in a social habitant. It is important to change how families and individuals see social media as a hobby rather than as a waste of time. A new technology comes up and it integral the families and individuals life, wondering what can a technology reflect or interfere in our daily bases. Furthermore divorce is definitely on a rise. The effects of divorce can be detrimental to a family, but the causes of divorce can be just as bad. In this essay we will cover one of the main causes of divorce and one of the main effects. One of the main causes that marriages are not lasting is the change in the roles of woman today. Now that women can earn just as much money as men they don't have to rely on anyone to bring, so they can separate from their significant others a lot easier. One of the biggest effects of divorce is the effect it has on our children. Most couples get married and have children shortly after, and all decision made by the couples directly affect their children. Studies show that divorce has one of the most negative effects on children. Children living in single parent homes are more likely to be pregnant as teenagers, drop out of high school, abuse drugs and have behavioral issues. Furthermore due to the high dropout rates of single parent children they often have hard times finding jobs due to their lack of education. Often times we will see that children from broken homes will also have issues maintaining long term relationships as well. Studies show that children who parents are divorced or separated marriages will end in divorce as well. One last scary effect of divorce is that 92 percent of inmates in California State correctional facilities are products of single parent homes; in other words at some point when they were children their parents either divorced or became separated. In conclusion due to changes in roles of both women and men divorce is on the rise, and is leaving a huge negative on the ones we love most our children. Divorce Get more content on HelpWriting.net

"' Child abuse and neglect is a serious public health problem which requires immediate, urgent attention'" said Anne Petersen, a professor at the Center of Human Growth and Development at the University of Michigan who chaired the research committee for the Institute of Medicine and the National Research Council of the National Academies (Virginian). Neglecting children is the worst form of child abuse there is because it will affect their physical and mental health, their ability to control emotions, their performance in school, and their relationships with their parents, children, and other adults all of this will hurt them continuously throughout their entire life. Neglect comes from when children are not given the attention they need by their parents. Whether it is a single parent home or a double parent home there can still be a large amount of economic stress either one parent doesn't have a job and the other has a low paying job or maybe both parents go laid off because of the terrible economy which will lead to even more neglect (Gittins). Parents worry about bills so if they have a job they try to get more hours in order to make rent or to buy groceries which is not a bad thing until the parent starts working so much that they forget about their child at home alone. The parent or parents can be working too much in order to pay the bills or them just want to go out in order to meet someone Get more content on HelpWriting.net

The Causes And Effects Of HIV And AIDS HIV and the AIDS virus is a very life threating disease that sees no race, no color, no gender, no economic background, and not even a specific age group. It can affect anyone if a person is not aware of the causes. Human Immunodeficiency Virus is also known as HIV, is a virus that destroys the immune system of a person. This virus is highly contagious and can be transmitted in many ways including: vaginal, oral, anal sex, sharing needles, and through pregnancy which is known as mother to child transmission. Acquired immunodeficiency syndrome is also known as AIDS, which can occur if you have HIV. AIDS causes the body to be unable to fight off infections. The first verified case of HIV is from a blood sample taken in 1959 from a man living in what is now Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The sample was retrospectively analyzed and HIV detected." (History of HIV and AIDS.) After the sample was brought into scientist attention, they found a similarity between HIV and AIDS. "The area also had a growing sex trade around the time that HIV began to spread. The high population of migrants and sex trade might explain how HIV spread along these infrastructure routes. By 1937, it had reached Brazzaville, about 120km west of Kinshasa" (History of AIDS.) In 1982 CDC described AIDS as "A disease at least moderately predictive of a defect in cell mediated immunity, occurring in a person with no known cause for diminished resistance to that disease" (History of HIV and AIDS.)
