With budget cuts, Civil Air Patrol is asked to
     raise its level of professionalism.
You are an officer in the Civil Air Patrol.
You seeing everyone progressing and you are
  not sure how to advance in the program.
You want to know the next steps in your
              program.
Let me show you how to excel in Civil Air Patrol.
Executive



                          Command
                          and Staff

The Civil Air Patrol
 program has five        Management


      levels.
                       Technical Training



                          Foundation
The first and only mandatory level is Level I,
                Foundations.




           Foundation
You must complete the six part Foundations Course.

                          History and
                          Organization



            Leadership                   Policies



                          Foundations
                            Course



            Core Values                  Uniforms


                           Customs
                             and
                          Courtesies
Cadet Protection Program Training is intended
    to increase awareness of child abuse.
Operations Security Awareness is intended to increase
member awareness of information and operations security.
Equal Opportunity Training explains CAP’s
      policy on nondiscrimination.
Introductory to CAP Safety Training motivates
 members to adopt a positive safety culture.
By completing Level I, you will earn the Membership Award
  and be eligible for 2d Lt after 6 months of membership.
Level II, Technical Training level is designed to
acclimate you to performing in your squadron.




              Technical Training

                 Foundation
Enroll in and earn technician rating in at least
             one Specialty Track.
CAP Officer Basic Course provides study in areas
 essential to becoming an effective CAP leader.
Squadron Leadership School enhances a senior
member’s performance at the squadron level.
With a technician rating, you will earn the Leadership Award
    and be eligible for 1st Lt after 18 months as a 2d Lt.
By completing Level II, you will earn the Davis Award,
and be eligible for Captain after 24 months as a 1st Lt.
Completing the Yeager Award requirements earns
  you an embossed seal on your Davis Award.
Level III, Management level is designed to acclimate
 you to performing at the corporate or wing level.




                 Management

              Technical Training

                  Foundation
You must first earn the Davis Award.
One year of experience in a command or staff
 position, positions are listed in CAPR 20-1.
You must progress to the senior rating in your
              specialty track.
You must attend two conferences or attend an
           Aerospace conference.
You must complete the Corporate Learning Course.
With a senior rating, you will earn a bronze star
      for your Leadership Award Ribbon.
By completing Level III, you are eligible for the
     Grover Loening Aerospace Award.
With Level III completed, you will be eligible for
     Major after 36 months as a Captain.
Level IV, Command and Staff is designed for members
    who desire to become high-level CAP leaders.

                   Foundation
You must first earn the Loening Award.
Two years of experience in a command or staff
  position, positions are listed in CAPR 20-1.
You must progress to the master rating in your
              specialty track.
Complete one of the following:




         Hands-on AE
           program
Complete Region Staff College (RSC) or its
      approved PME equivalent
Serve in a director or staff member capacity in a
     CAP approved course or conference.
With a master rating, you will earn a silver star
     for your Leadership Award Ribbon.
By completing Level IV, you are eligible for the
           Paul E. Garber Award.
With Level IV completed, you will be eligible for
Lieutenant Colonel after 48 months as a Major.
Level V, Executive is for those officers performing
      duty as commanders or staff officers.

staff position, positions are listed in CAPR 20-1.
Conduct a Level I Foundations Course summary
                 conversation.

        approved PME equivalent.
By completing Level V, you are eligible for the
         Gill Robb Wilson Award.
Awards are not automatic, you must apply for
          them on a CAP Form 24.
