Early Stages Of Life Of A Child
Children are the most flexible during their early stages of life. The development of the child is very
critical during their early stages. As parents play a vital role in the life of their children, the
development of the child depends on the attitude and approach of the parents. The parents should have
a very deep concern about the attitude that they adopt about raising their children so that the early
stage of life could be utilized at the bets level. As the impacts are very much critical at the early stage
of the life of a child, it is important that the intervention of the parents in the life of the child is at a

Make New Mexico State University
Make New Mexico State Great Again This is my first semester at New Mexico State University and I
am over all loving the experience. There aren t many flaws here at New Mexico State University in
my opinion however my proposal will be something that I am currently pretty actively involved in on
campus, and that is the Greek life here at New Mexico State University. In just my short time here on
campus no other program or organization has stood out or had near the effect Greek life has had on me
thus far. Within New Mexico State University you find people in Greek life everywhere you go, we
have members in ASNMSU, the president of ASNMSU is a Greek. There are Greeks in almost every
organization on campus. You find us working jobs on campus, and no matter where you find one,
Greeks play a pretty active role here on campus.
Now a days when people see Greek letters on a house or an individual wearing them on their chest, I
feel a lot of people with the exception of the few people who truly know what it is to be Greek, see us
as the way we are portrayed in movies and TV shows. Party crazed animals with no respect to
individuals their school or their community as a whole. To be honest, before getting involved in a
fraternity and Greek life, I had similar thoughts to this ideal that all Greek life would have in store for
me was drinking and Partying my life away with not much else to offer witch made me skeptical to
truly get involved. After just a short of being involved I see

Girl On The Escalator Poem
A Bukowski Poem
Nia Scott
The film, Girl on the Escalator is a visual retelling of a poem by well known poet, Charles Bukowski.
Girl on the Escalator was an official selection of the 2016 LA Shorts Festival and the 2016 Raindance
Film Festival. It was directed by Kayhan Lannes Ozmen.
Charles Bukowski. What can be said about him that hasn t already been said? I think he is a very
talented poet but also controversial. He was an alcoholic and in his poems, he would talk about ogling
women in a way that is slightly uncomfortable to read. Yet, he also wrote uplifting, compassionate
poems about the poor and suffering. He wasn t someone that could be easily labeled as a writer, he
jumped around and wrote exactly what he wanted. Bukowski was always honest in his poems, and
many of them read like the pages of a diary or the streams of thought that we can t see. His honesty
polarized him with some audiences because people like it when they can easily label something and
don t need to think on it, but Bukowski couldn t be named one thing. I think it was hard for some to
read his poems about the poor and then accept his other poems like Girl on the Escalator . He was a
very complex person who lived a colorful life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the narrator reads each line, it is acted out on the screen. Bukowski does what he does best in the
beginning and creepily ogles the young woman s backside. He doesn t seem to like the man that is
with her or does not like the girl because she is not with him. Either way he is motivated to create a
backstory for the girl. The couple did not speak to or antagonize him but he felt the need to create a
story for the girl. Sometimes when I m bored I ll do a similar thing where I ll sit down and create
stories in my head of people s lives but they re usually more hopeful. Bukowski breaks this girl down
as someone with alcoholic and racist

Monologue About Mommy
I remember mommy always telling me I was her miracle child. Daddy use to hit me when I was young

Mommy has nightmares and I have what the doctors call Cerebral Palsy. Mommy says I wasn t always
this way. When I was delivered by the stork, I was like the other boys and girls but daddy hurt me so,
now I m not. My legs don t move the right way I can t seem to control them. I get these tingles, like
ants running down my pants. Mommy is always carrying me or pushing me in a stroller. I don t have

Software Patents, Copyright, and Piracy Issues in India
Introduction
India has developed enormously in the field of science and technology. Information Technology has
been one of the fastest growing sectors in the country and a major contributor to the economy. India s
economy has boomed over the past decade due to Government s initiates. With it vast pool of
educated population and its leading presence in the Software arena India is fast becoming a knowledge

The legislation is supported by the Patents Rule, 1972( the Rules ) which have been amended and
update periodically, the latest amendment being Patents(Amendment) Rules, 1999.
Key Features of Patents:
*) the term of the patents was originally 14 years. This was amended under TRIPS obligations to 20
years
*) Software can probably be patented in India. In the US and the European Union it can be patented if
it shows technical effect. Article 27 of TRIPS lists out the patentable subject matter.
*) Business Method cannot be patented in India as of now. It can be patented in US and European
Union if it uses technology in a unique manner.
*) The international governing patents include Paris convention and the Patent convention treaty.
Copyrights:
Copyright is about protecting the expression of an idea, rather than the idea itself. It covers original
literacy, dramatic, musical or artistic work. Literacy works include computer programs, tables and
compilations including computer database.
Copyright Law:
In India the Intellectual Property rights of computer software is covered under copyright law.
Accordingly the copyright of computer software is protected under the provisions of the Indian
Copyright Act 1957, which was substantially amended in 1994 and reintroduced in 1995. With these
changes, the Indian Copyright Law has become one of the most stringent laws in the world.

Personification In The Charge Of The Light Brigade
Biographical Info Lord Alfred Tennyson was an influential poet during the Victorian Era or the golden
age. He was the fourth out of the twelve children and was born on August 6, 1809, in England. He
enrolled at Trinity College but left when his father died. After publishing many famous poetry,
Tennyson was honored as a poet laureate for his poem The Charge of the Light Brigade . This was
where he earned the name Lord which sounds noble. Sadly, he died at the age of 83 on October of
1892( The Charge of the Light Brigade ). Summary/Symbolism The poem talks about 600 horsemen
with their swords riding half a league charging against the Russian artillery. During the battle, the
leader tells them to charge the guns surrounding them in all sides. ... Show more content on

As you may already know, the poem is full of repetition. Lines at the end of the 1st stanza,
Forward.....Rode the six hundred and the beginning of Stanza 3, Cannon to right of them.....Storm d at
with shot and shell are anaphoras. Tennyson deliberately used repetition in order to intensify the
audience s emotion by using ethos revealing that death is inevitable(Smelli Notes). Tennyson uses
alliteration specifically to emphasize on the s sounds in lines 22, Stormed..Shot..Shell.. and in lines 35

The Childhood Of A Hispanic Girl
As a hispanic girl, the typical dream which is expected of us is to want to have a quinceanera. Which
would be a large party for the transition from childhood to adulthood. However this wasn t the way it
went for me. My dreams where different. I could honestly care less about having a huge party to
celebrate me turning 15. Of course it would be great experience to have one and it is a once in a
lifetime thing as you can only turn 15 once. Yet, I tend to not want this but at the same time I long
having one. This wouldn t be for the attention that is give or presents or anything you would expect. I
would want it so that I could fulfill a long term dream. One which I have held onto for many years. I d
do it, only in order to be able to meet my other biological parent. Growing up my biological father was
not present. Thus he fails to appear in many of my childhood memories. However, if you were to ask
any other person, chances are they know their father. If not, they do remember him and have a piece of
him in their memory. Yet, this isn t my case. Therefore growing up I made it a long term goal to meet
my father. Yes, I may have meet him during the first few years of my life, as he was present there.
However my memory does not trace back up to that point. I also do not have any pictures of him. I
have been told that I show much resemblance to him, so I imagine him to have some of my own
characteristics and features. His voice is faded but remains in the back of my memory.

Before You Exit Research Paper
When I first found out that Orlando based pop band Before You Exit had never signed a record deal
until last month, I was absolutely shocked. Although their line up has changed quite a bit over the
years, Before You Exit has been producing music and touring all over the world since their formation
in 2007. However, this formation was more of a natural coming together, as the group consists of
brothers Connor McDonough (21), Riley McDonough (19), and Toby McDonough (17). On Saturday,
August 8th, I got the opportunity to interview the boys of Before You Exit at Club Nokia, a few hours
before they took the stage on their final night as an opening act for The Vamps. I wish it was longer,
19 year old Riley states about their tour with British group The Vamps. But, I m excited because we re
going, tomorrow, back into the studio, so it s not totally bad because we get to work on new music.
Youngest McDonough brother Toby chimes in with, We love these guys, and it s gonna be hard to say
good bye. It s gonna be a crying fest, and Connor jokes, I m sure we ll see them again soon, as the trio
fake sobs into their hands. Riley continues, This tour is the first time we ve ever been really good

Island Made Thesis
How was the Island Made
By:Jonah Jacksteit
Thesis Statement This report will talk about how the marooned island got made.
An island 2000 km south of Hawai i. The island is at 1°52 23.40 N and 157°19 6.69 W and spans 717
square kilometers of land. On this land there were volcanoes but after some time they got eroded
away. In this report I will prove that there was a volcano on the island and I will do so by stating how
the plants, climate, location and animals prove that there was a volcano.
Plants There are very few native plants on the island. The only plants that are on the island are
breadfruit trees, pandanus trees, pawpaw trees, coconut trees, babai(a type of taro root), mosses and
mangrove trees. There are also yams lemons, and sugarcane as non tree plants. These seeds for plants
probably got transported to the island by birds except for the coconuts because there aren t any land
borders to any other island. Because there are no land boarders it gives us some evidence that the
island got made by a volcano.
Climate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

year round are 28C 32C with humidity. These temperatures indicate that the island is not that far from
the equator. The humidity on the island raises the temperature by 10C and is a by product from the
volcanoes. By having the volcanoes here before, it evaporated more water, which added pressure in
the air, which then added

Team Sport Research Paper
Playing a team sport builds character because it teaches a person how to be respectful, how to work
with others, and it teaches good sportsmanship. These qualities can play a very large role in life down
the road. They can be very important for future jobs or activities that a person might do. Without these
qualities a person could be at a severe disadvantage.
Playing a team sport teaches respect. Being respectful applies to being nice to your opponents,
coaches and referees. Respect is something that is taught only through other people and is earned
through good efforts in game with your teammates. To show respect to an opponent is to show
admiration to their abilities and acknowledge that they are also a good team and are just as good as
you. To show respect to a referee is to agree with their calls and shake their hand after the game. To
show respect to your coaches is listen to what they are saying in the huddle and follow their
instructions during game. To have respect is such an important thing for people to have because it
keeps that person in their place and keeps them from pretending to be someone that he or she is not. ...

To have the ability to work with others is something that becomes very important later on in life and is
a very good quality to have early. Many jobs that people have require the ability to work with others
and those who can t are severely hindered. Being able to work with others also can make a person
very easy and outgoing because they are not always thinking about themselves and think for the
betterment of the group. Working with others means that you are able to accomplish a task with a
group of random strangers and by the end of it create something or do something that in your opinion
s noteworthy and acceptable for the rest of the world to see. Businesses and people who are hiring
others see this as a very important trait and look for it in

Tension In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery
The Lottery by Shirley Jackson begins on a late summer morning, the villagers of a small New
England town gather to conduct their annual lottery. There is an air of festivity among them, especially
the children. Only a few in the crowd reveal slight hints of tension or unease. The lottery is a tradition
within the community and the leader of the lottery, Mr. Summers, works hard to preserve it. Despite
this, changes have crept in, and some old timers such as Old Man Warner regret what they perceive as
a loss of a heritage that has preserved the happiness and prosperity of the town over time. All of the
villagers congregate in town square, attendance is called, and the head of each family steps forward to
take a slip of paper from the black box. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is evident through the lack of change in the tone as the events Jackson describes shift
dramatically. In the beginning of the story, Jackson describes an idyllic clear and sunny day with the
fresh warmth of a full summer day (Jackson 638). However, the events that follow strikingly contrast
this description. The villagers armed with stones moved in on her and were upon her , even her own
family participates in the stoning. Jackson maintains a constant calm tone even as the events she
describes become increasingly dark. By doing this, Jackson emphasizes that this immense amount of
human aggression is commonplace. This opinion of Jackson s intentions is supported by Coulthard. In
his analysis of The Lottery , Coulthard states that It is not the ancient custom of human sacrifice that
makes the villagers behave cruelly, but that their thinly veiled cruelty keeps the custom alive
(Coulthard 226). Although Coulthard s interpretation aligns with the tone of the story, it could also be
argued that Jackson s emphasis on the commonplace of human aggression could be due to the fact that
the lottery is a longstanding tradition. This opinion is supported by Griffin who believes that human
need for traditions has always been present. She supports this by discussing the ancient cultures who
performed sacrificial rituals to mimic the life cycle. This is seen in The Lottery because the

Data Volume: This defines the available size of data that has been growing every day with multiple

The Islamic Civilization And Islam
One cannot have an adequate and well versed discussion about Islamic civilization without first
defining two key terms: Civilization and Islam. Associate Professor at Washington University in St.
Louis, Ahmet Karamustafa, defines civilizations as, nothing more than a particular, even unique
combination of ideas and practice that groups of human actors who are the real agents of human
history affirm as their own and use to define and develop their own sense of presence and agency in
the world (Karamustafa 103). Thus, guided by this definition, we have an understanding of Islamic
Civilization as a religious movement guided by the mandates of God. Of course, anywhere where
there is human organization and interaction, there will be politics involved. Although there were some
political aspects in the community of the Believers under the leadership of the prophet, at the core of
this movement was the belief in his prophetic authority. I will argue that Islam, despite all the political
implications it has had throughout history, is ultimately rooted in religious belief, submission to God,
and living a pious life in accordance with God s commands for achieving eternal salvation.
Furthermore, In the course of this paper, I will give a brief introduction of Islamic civilization broken
up into four parts that are integral to understanding Islamic civilization: Politics and religion in the
early community of the believers, governance after the death of the prophet,

The War of the Roses
The War of the Roses were a series of dynastic wars fought between supporters of two rival branches
of the royal house of plantagenet, the house of Lancaster and york. This wars were fought in several
sprordartic espisodes beteen 1455 and 1487. In my opinion this war was not necessary for the history
of Europe because they could only had had talked and solve it in a simple way.
The War of the Roses is called The War of the Roses because the two houses are represented by two
roses, the House of Lancaster is represented by a red rose and the House of York is represented by a
white rose. The War of the Roses started because when Henry VI had the crown, he was ill so his

married Elizabeth of York and had four children: Arthur, Prince of Wales, Henry VII of England,
Margaret Tudor (Queen of Scots) and Mary Tudor (Queen of France). Arthur got married with
Catherine of Aragon and didn t have children. Henry VIII got married 6 times with Catherine of
Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr, he also
had three children: Mary I of England, Elizabeth I of England and Edward VI of England. His sister
Margaret Tudor got married three times with James IV of Scotland, Archibald Douglass and Henry
Stewart, she had two children: James V of Scotland and Margaret Douglass. The last one in the family,
Mary Tudor only got married two times, the first one with Louis XII of France and Charles Brandon,
she didn t have any children. Elizabeth of York made part of the House of York and when she married
Henry VII Tudor, the two houses bonded to create the House of Tudor.
There were many wars during this time, the first one being the War of St. Albans in 1459 where
Richards yorkish army defeats Henry s lancastrian army. Again in 1459 The Battle of the Ludford
Bridge takes place and this time Henry wins and the yorkish run away.

Research Paper On Hand To Hand Fighting
The first and last thing you have to recall about hand to hand fighting is that it is a field of order that
should set you up for battle. It is not just an arrangement of developments that look incredible to
observers. Each development, each breath done by the military craftsman is intended to fulfill
something amid a battle experience. In the event that you are prepared for utilizing your hand to hand
fighting aptitudes for battle circumstances, then you are prepared to prepare and advance in combative
technique. Since the expression Hand to hand fighting truly signifies the specialty of Mars (Mars
being the lord of war in Roman mythology), you ought to be arranged to put resources into combative
technique hardware to prepare for exceedingly contentious circumstances. In spite of the fact that a
few societies dislike ladies partaking in hand to hand fighting, there are different societies that
anticipate that ladies will learn combative technique as well like in antiquated Japan, wives of samurai

The Effect Of Body Cameras On Use Of Force Incidents
Methods I wish to replicate the methodology utilized by Ariel, Farrer, and Sutherland (2015). These
researchers conducted a randomized controlled study with the Rialto Police Department in California.
The purpose of their study was to observe the effects of body worn cameras on the frequency of use of
force incidents as well as citizens complaints. In my research study, I will test only the effect of body
worn cameras on use of force incidents. I propose to study the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police
Department in Indianapolis, Indiana. This research setting is a lot larger than Ariel, Farrer, and
Sutherland s study. The Rialto Police Department covered an area of approximately 28.5 square miles,
and they served a population of approximately 100,000 residents. IMPD covers an area of
approximately 364.3 square miles, and serves approximately 824,000 residents. Rialto has 115 sworn
officers whereas IMPD has 1,080 sworn officers (IMPD n.d.). I propose to divide IMPD s six districts
in half. Three districts will be the treatment group while the other three districts will be the control
group. This should be approximately 540 total officers per group. The districts will be randomly
assigned to either by a treatment or a control group, and it will change weekly. For example, the North
District may be a treatment group one week and a control group the next week. I feel that if the
department is split up and randomly assigned a group each week that the data will be more

Florida Fish Problems
The influence of the Gulf of Mexico and the Gulfstream in Southwest Florida Waters make the
temperature just right for literally hundreds of different kinds of fish. In 2011, Florida s recreational
anglers caught roughly 121 million marine fish, 74 million of which were released. These statistics
support the notion that fishing may be one of the most loved hobbies. Since fishing efforts have been
drastically increasing over the years, dozens of species are threatened with extinction and many more
are experiencing serious population declines. In order to ensure that a fish s populations will remain
sustainable for future generations, anglers need regulations that will sustain the existence of a fish
population.

Cooperation And Altruism Is What Largely Divides Humans...
Cooperation and altruism is what largely divides humans from other animals. While some primate and
certain other species do seem to show some precursors to these types of behaviors, none come close to
the ability of humans to help each other. Much of this has to do with our ability to act unselfishly
despite the fact that in the short term being selfish would be more beneficial. Some groups take this to
the extreme like the Hutterites who live in a society where everyone works to serve others. In his book
The Origins of Virtue Matt Ridley claims that we are all Hutterites at heart (38). However, this does
not actually seem to be true the majority of the time. In fact, more often and not, we act selfishly if we
can get away with it without any repercussions. One of the strongest bits of evidence against this
statement comes from experiments in children that show that very young children are more likely to
act selfishly instead of altruistically. Additionally, game theory studies have shown that people are
overall more selfish when they are anonymous compared to when their actions and decisions are being
watched. This would seem to indicate Hutterite s beliefs are not so central to our lives. At the same
time, these studies also show that people are not as selfish as would be expected if they were only
looking out for their benefit. And there are plenty of instances where a person goes out of their way to
help a complete stranger. Overall, I think Ridley s claim is mostly

Necco Wafers Research Paper
In 1847, with Oliver Chase s invention of the lozenge cutter, the famous Necco Wafers were born.
Necco Wafers quickly became an American favorite with eight flavors to enjoy: orange, lemon, lime,
clove, chocolate, cinnamon, licorice, and wintergreen. Aside from consumption, Necco Wafers have
also been used as poker chips, for first communion practice, and even as bulls eyes at target ranges.
Four billion Necco Wafers are produced each year, and if placed edge to edge, would wrap around the
world twice. In the early 1900 s, Necco Wafers came in handy for more than just gingerbread house
decorations. For example, in 1913, Donald MacMillan, an arctic explorer, gave eskimo children the
American candy on his expedition. In the 1930 s, two and a half tons of this chalky candy were
included on Admiral Byrd s two year journey in the Antarctic, enough for each of member of his crew
to consume a pound of wafers each week. Since Necco Wafers did not melt and rarely broke during
transport, during World War II, the American government sent massive amounts of these candies
overseas to soldiers. Although World War II veterans were not the first soldiers to have rations of

Premium Jeans Essay
PrSummary:
This case study talks about the slowdown in the premium jeans market. The first slowdown was in
2007, after that time premium jeans never the same. Between 2008 and 2010 the premium denim
prices fell 10 15 percent over this time period. There were different tactics these premium denim
designers including 7 for mankind, True Religion, Diesel, Joe Jeans and Levi Strauss tried to attempt
to maintain their positions. Some did this by lowering the price of jeans, creating lower priced jeans
(i.e. recession collection and jeggings), creating more brands and stores. This case study also talked
about the major effects that things like economic issues (i.e. the recession) and rising cotton prices

Diesel s revenue not only came from making jeans it also came from producing products like wine,
cars, fragrances, sun glasses, shoes, and watches.
Does True Religion enjoy a competitive advantage in the segment? If so, is its advantage sustainable?
I would say that True Religion enjoy a competitive advantage in the segment because this was a
company that had been through a slowdown in sales then rose then fell again. Within the times of
falling revenue the company still managed to develop strategies so that it wouldn t end up like other
companies such as rock amp; republic that filed for bankruptcy. Even when this brand first started out
it had a competitive advantage over 7 for all mankind that only offered 2 basic styles of jeans, True
Religion offered 5 styles. Then overtime True Religion became one of the highest priced on the
market with an average selling point of $196 for woman s jeans and $192 for men s jeans in 2009 .
This gives give the True Religion brand jeans the sustainability that it needs to stay ahead. Another
advantage it had over its competitors is the use of off price retailers such as Nordstrom rack and its
outlet stores which lead to slow moving and obsolete inventory . True Religion s was able to sustain
exclusive third party distributors to gain access to upscale retailers in foreign markets. They did this
by selling their products to

Designing The Robotic Arm Is Controlled By A...
In this paper a project is proposed to separate the objects from a set according to their colors. This can
be useful for categorization of the objects which move on a conveyer belt. The proposed method of
categorization is based on color of the object. In this project the system categorization of different
colors. The detection of the particular color is done by a light intensity to frequency converter method.
The robotic arm is controlled by a microcontroller based system which controls DC motor for picking
up the specified color from a moving objects conveyer belt.
In this project we will be using combination of microcontroller, Sensors and mat lab for some
virtualization. When a different combination of objects moving on industrial conveyer belt it s very
difficult or labor consuming to separate the objects based on the color , As machinery is capable to
produce the different color objects at the same time or different machineries produce the different
color objects and dump on the same conveyer belt. At this point of time our project provides value
added service in picking up the objects based on their color for packing or distinguishing.

Taking a Look at a Coma
A coma also known as a persistent vegetative state is a very deep state of unconsciousness which will
last more than six hours, and in which the person is still very much alive, with normal breathing
cycles, but can t respond to any stimuli, or his/her surrounding environment. This can usually be tested
by medics putting the individual through (normally) painful and/or problematic stimulants. The patient
is also unable to move, see, hear or speak.
The coma takes away higher brain functions, thinking capacities and awareness of surroundings, but
the usual circulation, breathing and cognitive sleeping patterns are still kept. The coma can take place
as a result of extreme injuries (head injuries are most common), or as a product of several underlying
diseases or infections; a large variety of causes.
The coma comes from the Greek word koma meaning state of sleep. Coma in the past was very much
of an unsolved enigma. People couldn t see the reasons of people falling into a death like sleep, but
still breathing and carrying out normal sleep patterns. They didn t know of any treatment to cure this
mysterious disease, so they could only leave the people in their comas, deciding that time was the only
cure, but also allowing the people succumb to the usual infections which are picked up from the
patient s immobility while in the coma itself.
Over time, comas have been treated far better with the research done through time. But, despite the
rather weird situation, films

The Importance Of Art And The Judgement Of Hunefer
Art by its nature is a subject of the philosophical, social, economic, political or religious context
surrounding its creator. More often than not, a work of art addresses a specific topic or somewhat
revolves around a particular person. Therefore, it is impossible to separate the context of a piece of
painting, either historical or cultural, to its intrinsic value or the artwork s meaning. On the other hand,
different cultures and time utilized specific conventions that govern the representation of objects of
creativity. This essay highlights various pieces of art and their relationship to particular cultural,
political, economic, or social settings. Moreover, it pinpoints how different times influence art
presentation. One of the pieces of art that shows the relationship between context and art is the
Judgement of Hunefer as illustrated in the Book of The Dead (Kleiner, 2016). The Judgement of
Hunefer is a painting on a papyrus scroll showing the journey of Hunefer, a royal scribe, and steward
of Seti, from his death to the afterlife. The image illustrates several items including spells and prayers
needed to secure a happy immortality (Kleiner, 2016). Moreover, the picture shows several steps in
transition into the afterlife including Anubis, the jackal headed god of embalmment leading Hunefer
into the hall of judgment, Anubis weighing Hunefer s heart against a feather, and finally Hunefer
meeting Horus to receive an award of the eternal life (Kleiner, 2016). The

Seattle Pitting Research Paper
On March 23, 1954, Seattle newspapers reported citizens finding pits and glass bubbles within their
car windshields at a town 80 miles from Seattle. Police investigated and initially brushed it off as
vandalism, albeit without much proof. It did not seem like a serious case, after all...until more reports
of similar damages popped up on April 14th from another town 65 miles away, and on that same
evening, in Seattle itself. Hundreds of people phoned Seattle police between the 14th and 15th,
reporting the same pittings and dings in their windshields. Seattle citizens entered a state of confusion
and paranoia, to the point where the mayor had begun to look to President Eisenhower for help when
not even the police could find the cause for this. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Such dire sounding headlines only fueled the people s fear of nuclear war more. Upon hearing news of
the affected fishermen and the sheer power of such H bombs, people began to fear not only of other

American bomb testings affecting them. Following atmospheric testing of hydrogen bombs in 1954,
people in and around Seattle, Washington began to report mysterious pitting damage to auto

little Johnny diving off his bicycle convinced children that the bombs could fall at any moment and
gave them nightmares (Walbert). The 1950s was a time where many were scared of being under
nuclear attack, children and adults alike. Thus, the unexplainable windshield pittings in Seattle had
people easily jumping to a conclusion of nuclear fallout being behind the pittings. Those in Seattle

Gran Torino Differences
Gran Torino Report A great majority of Walt s and Thao s differences are because of the contrasting
cultures they originate from. Thao comes from the Hmong people and Walt is a Caucasian American.
During the movie, the Hmong culture is expressed, the Hmong people express gratitude and thanks to
people through gifts and in return, exchange for work. For example, when Thao apologized for
attempting to steal Walt s car, his mother and sister give Thao to Walt as a helping hand until his debt
is paid off. This also shows some the Hmong people s value of respect when one of their own cause

As opposed to Thao, who represented the men of Hmong , was very conforming and showed little
masculinity. Like Walt, he begin to reflect Walt s manliness throughout the movie. Despite their major
differences, Walt and Thao were alike to a certain extent: Thao and Walt share the quality of caring for
others, although they did not express it much, it was still present. The problem I recognized that Walt
had with his Hmong neighbors appeared in the beginning of the movie and was that fact the Walt was
a Korean War Veteran, because of this he seemed to have an automatic resentment or dislike against
them. Walt did violate many rules or norms, at the barbeque he was confused and frustrated when
Thao s family members stared at him, he was later informed by Thao s sister that it was rude to look
people directly in the eyes in Hmong culture. Walt also was unaware that in Hmong culture, it is
insulting to not accept gifts or help in which is another rule is violated when refusing to accept the
gifts and food for saving Thao. One major, personal value Walt publicly displayed was his belief that
you should retaliate when someone troubles you, this happens in two scenes when Walt beat the gang

Analysis Of Anselm Kiefer s Burning Rods
The painting Burning Rods, made by Anselm Kiefer is very interesting all the way around from the
materials that are being used to the message it gives. At first glance of this artwork, it looks like a
piece of trash on a canvas because what the media it has on it. This painting is made up of oil, acrylic
emulsion, and shellac on canvas with lead, copper wire, straw, iron, and ceramic (STL). This is a very
interesting combination of media with a finished result of a texture and flaky looking painting with a
gold and black coloring. In the center of the painting, there are some columns. This artwork like other
major artworks has some elements that help the artist with the message. History is one of the elements
that help with understanding why he created this artwork in the first place. Anselm Kiefer was born in
1945 in Donaueschingen, Germany, and he attended the School of Fine Arts at Freiburg in Breisgau
and the Art Academy in Karlsruhe. His work has been shown in museums all over the
world(GAGOSIAN). He does a lot of his work on German history particularly stuff on the Holocaust
such as Shevirat Ha Kelim 1990(Art). .Buring Rods was created right after the nuclear power plant
meltdown in Chernobyl were there was a lot of destruction with several lives lost. This city now is
now unlivable for a long while until the radiation levels go down (NWA). During this time the cold

A simultaneous groan can be heard across the country by every college student as a new semester

Recently, the average four year cost can be $70,000, and the average debt per student is $27,000

Steven Pearlstein, a researcher and writer on the Washington Post, firmly believes that this would
reduce the need to hire lecturers and adjunct (Pearlstein). Even so, Noah Smith, another researcher,
points out that, if research was in fact not needed, then less professors would be needed, and far more
lecturers should be hired. Smith also mentions that there is a reason we have researchers do research.
He says, In science and engineering, university professors are one of the main forces behind the U.S. s
innovative edge. They produce important basic research and pioneering technologies, and attract top
talent from all over the world. If you replace research professors with lecturers in science and
engineering or force professors to forgo research for teaching, which is the same thing you remove a
long term driver of America s competitive advantage and productivity growth. So Pearlstein s pitch to
helping college spending decrease may not be as beneficial as one would hope, because research
conducted at universities under college professors has greatly impacted the country s

One Act Play Trifles
The one act play Trifles by Susan Glaspell, weaves in and out of Aristotle s theories of unity in time,
place, and action, which define a good play. Her use of unity, as well as her stray from unity, delivers a
plot and series of subplots that cover a variety of conflicts that intertwine to display stereotypical
gender roles that depict women s suffrage. The one act play places the females as the protagonist as
they define and defend their position in a man s world while solving a murder mystery with
discussions over trifles.
Beginning with the unity of time, Glaspell creates a simple understanding of events as well as
character interaction that focus on a 24 hour period revolving around murder discovery. This murder is

The men flow from the outside to the kitchen, to the upstairs, back to the kitchen and then finally back
to the outside. The women, however, spend the majority of their time within the kitchen and living
area of the home. The separation of men and women suggests the freedom of men within 1900 s
compared to the women. Mrs. Hales suggests the kitchen is regarded as the women s place as she
confirms this by stating I d hate to have men coming into my kitchen, snooping around and criticizing
(1110). As the men separate from the women it portrays a division of the male and female genders
while unifying each gender to their own sex. The county attorney confirms the loyalty of Mrs. Hale to
her gender by stating, ah, loyal to your sex, I see. as he notices Mrs. Hale s defense to Mrs. Wright s
when he comments on the order of her kitchen. It is because of the separation of place between the
men and women throughout the play that provides the females with the opportunity to freely relay
their opinions and struggles within the role of the wife. This signifies the conflict of suffrage and
gender stereotypes along with the insecurities the women carry because of the men. The women do
not speak openly in front of the men as noted with the change of body language and with stage
directions of whispering under breath and listening for the footsteps of the men. The women bond
together in the kitchen while the men bond in the unity of freedom and roaming. Glaspell s use of
unity in place provides a setting for the interaction of the males and the females to unfold while the
separation of locations within the place portrays division and unfolds the conflict between the genders
with the divide of social interaction and

Grand Canyon University: NRS 430v Professional Dynamics February 19, 2012 Abstract For many

understand What is nursing in general? As defined by the ANA: Nursing is the protection, promotion,

The ADN prepared nurse may focus solely on the patient care and may also feel unable to assist the
family with their needs. They would review code status and resume care. (i.e. labs, IV fluids, CXR
etc.) However, the BSN prepared nurse may identify the family s unique needs and plan accordingly.
The BSN prepared nurse may delegate tasks more effectively to ancillary staff to provide assistance.
Perhaps having the aid or ward clerk to call other family or religious affiliations for support. Or by
providing the family with privacy and providing frequent updates on the patient s condition and plan
of care. Further education would be given to the family to determine what extent of care is to be given.
(I.e. maximum care or palliative care). The determination would contribute to the entirety of
knowledge needed and education provided. The actual bedside competency difference would not be
profound in this situation, but the entire experience for the patient and/or the family can be improved
as well as quality of life. Patient education is also on the forefront of the BSN prepared nurse. More
education and training in regards to communication and technology gives the BSN nurse a greater
ability to educate the patient more thoroughly and comprehensively. References American Association

  • 3. Make New Mexico State University Make New Mexico State Great Again This is my first semester at New Mexico State University and I am over all loving the experience. There aren t many flaws here at New Mexico State University in my opinion however my proposal will be something that I am currently pretty actively involved in on campus, and that is the Greek life here at New Mexico State University. In just my short time here on campus no other program or organization has stood out or had near the effect Greek life has had on me thus far. Within New Mexico State University you find people in Greek life everywhere you go, we have members in ASNMSU, the president of ASNMSU is a Greek. There are Greeks in almost every organization on campus. You find us working jobs on campus, and no matter where you find one, Greeks play a pretty active role here on campus. Now a days when people see Greek letters on a house or an individual wearing them on their chest, I feel a lot of people with the exception of the few people who truly know what it is to be Greek, see us as the way we are portrayed in movies and TV shows. Party crazed animals with no respect to individuals their school or their community as a whole. To be honest, before getting involved in a fraternity and Greek life, I had similar thoughts to this ideal that all Greek life would have in store for me was drinking and Partying my life away with not much else to offer witch made me skeptical to truly get involved. After just a short of being involved I see ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Girl On The Escalator Poem A Bukowski Poem Nia Scott The film, Girl on the Escalator is a visual retelling of a poem by well known poet, Charles Bukowski. Girl on the Escalator was an official selection of the 2016 LA Shorts Festival and the 2016 Raindance Film Festival. It was directed by Kayhan Lannes Ozmen. Charles Bukowski. What can be said about him that hasn t already been said? I think he is a very talented poet but also controversial. He was an alcoholic and in his poems, he would talk about ogling women in a way that is slightly uncomfortable to read. Yet, he also wrote uplifting, compassionate poems about the poor and suffering. He wasn t someone that could be easily labeled as a writer, he jumped around and wrote exactly what he wanted. Bukowski was always honest in his poems, and many of them read like the pages of a diary or the streams of thought that we can t see. His honesty polarized him with some audiences because people like it when they can easily label something and don t need to think on it, but Bukowski couldn t be named one thing. I think it was hard for some to read his poems about the poor and then accept his other poems like Girl on the Escalator . He was a very complex person who lived a colorful life. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the narrator reads each line, it is acted out on the screen. Bukowski does what he does best in the beginning and creepily ogles the young woman s backside. He doesn t seem to like the man that is with her or does not like the girl because she is not with him. Either way he is motivated to create a backstory for the girl. The couple did not speak to or antagonize him but he felt the need to create a story for the girl. Sometimes when I m bored I ll do a similar thing where I ll sit down and create stories in my head of people s lives but they re usually more hopeful. Bukowski breaks this girl down as someone with alcoholic and racist ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

I get these tingles, like ants running down my pants. Mommy is always carrying me or pushing me in a stroller. I don t have many friends on the playground. • 9. The Childhood Of A Hispanic Girl As a hispanic girl, the typical dream which is expected of us is to want to have a quinceanera. Which would be a large party for the transition from childhood to adulthood. However this wasn t the way it went for me. My dreams where different. I could honestly care less about having a huge party to celebrate me turning 15. Of course it would be great experience to have one and it is a once in a lifetime thing as you can only turn 15 once. Yet, I tend to not want this but at the same time I long having one. This wouldn t be for the attention that is give or presents or anything you would expect. I would want it so that I could fulfill a long term dream. One which I have held onto for many years. I d do it, only in order to be able to meet my other biological parent. Growing up my biological father was not present. Thus he fails to appear in many of my childhood memories. However, if you were to ask any other person, chances are they know their father. If not, they do remember him and have a piece of him in their memory. Yet, this isn t my case. Therefore growing up I made it a long term goal to meet my father. Yes, I may have meet him during the first few years of my life, as he was present there. However my memory does not trace back up to that point. I also do not have any pictures of him. I have been told that I show much resemblance to him, so I imagine him to have some of my own characteristics and features. His voice is faded but remains in the back of my memory. My ... Although their line up has changed quite a bit over the years, Before You Exit has been producing music and touring all over the world since their formation in 2007. However, this formation was more of a natural coming together, as the group consists of brothers Connor McDonough (21), Riley McDonough (19), and Toby McDonough (17). On Saturday, August 8th, I got the opportunity to interview the boys of Before You Exit at Club Nokia, a few hours before they took the stage on their final night as an opening act for The Vamps. I wish it was longer, 19 year old Riley states about their tour with British group The Vamps. • 11. Island Made Thesis How was the Island Made By:Jonah Jacksteit Thesis Statement This report will talk about how the marooned island got made. An island 2000 km south of Hawai i. The island is at 1°52 23.40 N and 157°19 6.69 W and spans 717 square kilometers of land. On this land there were volcanoes but after some time they got eroded away. In this report I will prove that there was a volcano on the island and I will do so by stating how the plants, climate, location and animals prove that there was a volcano. Plants There are very few native plants on the island. The only plants that are on the island are breadfruit trees, pandanus trees, pawpaw trees, coconut trees, babai(a type of taro root), mosses and mangrove trees. There are also yams lemons, and sugarcane as non tree plants. These seeds for plants probably got transported to the island by birds except for the coconuts because there aren t any land borders to any other island. Because there are no land boarders it gives us some evidence that the island got made by a volcano. Climate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 13. Tension In Shirley Jackson s The Lottery The Lottery by Shirley Jackson begins on a late summer morning, the villagers of a small New England town gather to conduct their annual lottery. There is an air of festivity among them, especially the children. Only a few in the crowd reveal slight hints of tension or unease. The lottery is a tradition within the community and the leader of the lottery, Mr. Summers, works hard to preserve it. Despite this, changes have crept in, and some old timers such as Old Man Warner regret what they perceive as a loss of a heritage that has preserved the happiness and prosperity of the town over time. All of the villagers congregate in town square, attendance is called, and the head of each family steps forward to take a slip of paper from the black box. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is evident through the lack of change in the tone as the events Jackson describes shift dramatically. In the beginning of the story, Jackson describes an idyllic clear and sunny day with the fresh warmth of a full summer day (Jackson 638). However, the events that follow strikingly contrast this description. The villagers armed with stones moved in on her and were upon her , even her own family participates in the stoning. Jackson maintains a constant calm tone even as the events she describes become increasingly dark. By doing this, Jackson emphasizes that this immense amount of human aggression is commonplace. This opinion of Jackson s intentions is supported by Coulthard. In his analysis of The Lottery , Coulthard states that It is not the ancient custom of human sacrifice that makes the villagers behave cruelly, but that their thinly veiled cruelty keeps the custom alive (Coulthard 226). Although Coulthard s interpretation aligns with the tone of the story, it could also be argued that Jackson s emphasis on the commonplace of human aggression could be due to the fact that the lottery is a longstanding tradition. This opinion is supported by Griffin who believes that human need for traditions has always been present. She supports this by discussing the ancient cultures who performed sacrificial rituals to mimic the life cycle. This is seen in The Lottery because the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 18. The Islamic Civilization And Islam One cannot have an adequate and well versed discussion about Islamic civilization without first defining two key terms: Civilization and Islam. Associate Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, Ahmet Karamustafa, defines civilizations as, nothing more than a particular, even unique combination of ideas and practice that groups of human actors who are the real agents of human history affirm as their own and use to define and develop their own sense of presence and agency in the world (Karamustafa 103). Thus, guided by this definition, we have an understanding of Islamic Civilization as a religious movement guided by the mandates of God. Of course, anywhere where there is human organization and interaction, there will be politics involved. Although there were some political aspects in the community of the Believers under the leadership of the prophet, at the core of this movement was the belief in his prophetic authority. I will argue that Islam, despite all the political implications it has had throughout history, is ultimately rooted in religious belief, submission to God, and living a pious life in accordance with God s commands for achieving eternal salvation. Furthermore, In the course of this paper, I will give a brief introduction of Islamic civilization broken up into four parts that are integral to understanding Islamic civilization: Politics and religion in the early community of the believers, governance after the death of the prophet, ... • 24. Cooperation And Altruism Is What Largely Divides Humans... Cooperation and altruism is what largely divides humans from other animals. While some primate and certain other species do seem to show some precursors to these types of behaviors, none come close to the ability of humans to help each other. Much of this has to do with our ability to act unselfishly despite the fact that in the short term being selfish would be more beneficial. Some groups take this to the extreme like the Hutterites who live in a society where everyone works to serve others. In his book The Origins of Virtue Matt Ridley claims that we are all Hutterites at heart (38). However, this does not actually seem to be true the majority of the time. In fact, more often and not, we act selfishly if we can get away with it without any repercussions. One of the strongest bits of evidence against this statement comes from experiments in children that show that very young children are more likely to act selfishly instead of altruistically. Additionally, game theory studies have shown that people are overall more selfish when they are anonymous compared to when their actions and decisions are being watched. This would seem to indicate Hutterite s beliefs are not so central to our lives. At the same time, these studies also show that people are not as selfish as would be expected if they were only looking out for their benefit. And there are plenty of instances where a person goes out of their way to help a complete stranger. Overall, I think Ridley s claim is mostly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Taking a Look at a Coma A coma also known as a persistent vegetative state is a very deep state of unconsciousness which will last more than six hours, and in which the person is still very much alive, with normal breathing cycles, but can t respond to any stimuli, or his/her surrounding environment. This can usually be tested by medics putting the individual through (normally) painful and/or problematic stimulants. The patient is also unable to move, see, hear or speak. More often than not, a work of art addresses a specific topic or somewhat revolves around a particular person. Therefore, it is impossible to separate the context of a piece of painting, either historical or cultural, to its intrinsic value or the artwork s meaning. On the other hand, different cultures and time utilized specific conventions that govern the representation of objects of creativity. This essay highlights various pieces of art and their relationship to particular cultural, political, economic, or social settings. Moreover, it pinpoints how different times influence art presentation. One of the pieces of art that shows the relationship between context and art is the Judgement of Hunefer as illustrated in the Book of The Dead (Kleiner, 2016). The Judgement of Hunefer is a painting on a papyrus scroll showing the journey of Hunefer, a royal scribe, and steward of Seti, from his death to the afterlife. • 30. Seattle Pitting Research Paper On March 23, 1954, Seattle newspapers reported citizens finding pits and glass bubbles within their car windshields at a town 80 miles from Seattle. Police investigated and initially brushed it off as vandalism, albeit without much proof. It did not seem like a serious case, after all...until more reports of similar damages popped up on April 14th from another town 65 miles away, and on that same evening, in Seattle itself. Hundreds of people phoned Seattle police between the 14th and 15th, reporting the same pittings and dings in their windshields. Seattle citizens entered a state of confusion and paranoia, to the point where the mayor had begun to look to President Eisenhower for help when not even the police could find the cause for this. ... The film, Duck and Cover, was shown to schoolchildren beginning in 1950. The cartoon turtle, the cheerful theme song, and the practical advice were supposed to reassure children who might worry about an atomic attack. Instead, the images of little Johnny diving off his bicycle convinced children that the bombs could fall at any moment and gave them nightmares (Walbert). The 1950s was a time where many were scared of being under nuclear attack, children and adults alike. As opposed to Thao, who represented the men of Hmong , was very conforming and showed little masculinity. Like Walt, he begin to reflect Walt s manliness throughout the movie. Despite their major differences, Walt and Thao were alike to a certain extent: Thao and Walt share the quality of caring for others, although they did not express it much, it was still present. The problem I recognized that Walt had with his Hmong neighbors appeared in the beginning of the movie and was that fact the Walt was a Korean War Veteran, because of this he seemed to have an automatic resentment or dislike against them. Walt did violate many rules or norms, at the barbeque he was confused and frustrated when Thao s family members stared at him, he was later informed by Thao s sister that it was rude to look people directly in the eyes in Hmong culture. Walt also was unaware that in Hmong culture, it is insulting to not accept gifts or help in which is another rule is violated when refusing to accept the gifts and food for saving Thao. One major, personal value Walt publicly displayed was his belief that you should retaliate when someone troubles you, this happens in two scenes when Walt beat the gang member that ... Analysis Of Anselm Kiefer s Burning Rods The painting Burning Rods, made by Anselm Kiefer is very interesting all the way around from the materials that are being used to the message it gives. At first glance of this artwork, it looks like a piece of trash on a canvas because what the media it has on it. This painting is made up of oil, acrylic emulsion, and shellac on canvas with lead, copper wire, straw, iron, and ceramic (STL). This is a very interesting combination of media with a finished result of a texture and flaky looking painting with a gold and black coloring. In the center of the painting, there are some columns. This artwork like other major artworks has some elements that help the artist with the message. History is one of the elements that help with understanding why he created this artwork in the first place. Anselm Kiefer was born in 1945 in Donaueschingen, Germany, and he attended the School of Fine Arts at Freiburg in Breisgau and the Art Academy in Karlsruhe. His work has been shown in museums all over the world(GAGOSIAN). He does a lot of his work on German history particularly stuff on the Holocaust such as Shevirat Ha Kelim 1990(Art). .Buring Rods was created right after the nuclear power plant meltdown in Chernobyl were there was a lot of destruction with several lives lost. Steven Pearlstein, a researcher and writer on the Washington Post, firmly believes that this would reduce the need to hire lecturers and adjunct (Pearlstein). Even so, Noah Smith, another researcher, points out that, if research was in fact not needed, then less professors would be needed, and far more lecturers should be hired. Smith also mentions that there is a reason we have researchers do research. He says, In science and engineering, university professors are one of the main forces behind the U.S. s innovative edge. They produce important basic research and pioneering technologies, and attract top talent from all over the world. If you replace research professors with lecturers in science and engineering or force professors to forgo research for teaching, which is the same thing you remove a long term driver of America s competitive advantage and productivity growth. Her use of unity, as well as her stray from unity, delivers a plot and series of subplots that cover a variety of conflicts that intertwine to display stereotypical gender roles that depict women s suffrage. The one act play places the females as the protagonist as they define and defend their position in a man s world while solving a murder mystery with discussions over trifles. Beginning with the unity of time, Glaspell creates a simple understanding of events as well as character interaction that focus on a 24 hour period revolving around murder discovery. The women, however, spend the majority of their time within the kitchen and living area of the home. The separation of men and women suggests the freedom of men within 1900 s compared to the women. Mrs. Hales suggests the kitchen is regarded as the women s place as she confirms this by stating I d hate to have men coming into my kitchen, snooping around and criticizing (1110). As the men separate from the women it portrays a division of the male and female genders while unifying each gender to their own sex. The county attorney confirms the loyalty of Mrs. Hale to her gender by stating, ah, loyal to your sex, I see. as he notices Mrs. Hale s defense to Mrs. Wright s when he comments on the order of her kitchen. It is because of the separation of place between the men and women throughout the play that provides the females with the opportunity to freely relay their opinions and struggles within the role of the wife. This signifies the conflict of suffrage and gender stereotypes along with the insecurities the women carry because of the men. The women do not speak openly in front of the men as noted with the change of body language and with stage directions of whispering under breath and listening for the footsteps of the men. The women bond together in the kitchen while the men bond in the unity of freedom and roaming. Glaspell s use of unity in place provides a setting for the interaction of the males and the females to unfold while the separation of locations within the place portrays division and unfolds the conflict between the genders with the divide of social interaction and ... They would review code status and resume care. (i.e. labs, IV fluids, CXR etc.) However, the BSN prepared nurse may identify the family s unique needs and plan accordingly. The BSN prepared nurse may delegate tasks more effectively to ancillary staff to provide assistance. Perhaps having the aid or ward clerk to call other family or religious affiliations for support. Or by providing the family with privacy and providing frequent updates on the patient s condition and plan of care. Further education would be given to the family to determine what extent of care is to be given. (I.e. maximum care or palliative care). The determination would contribute to the entirety of knowledge needed and education provided. The actual bedside competency difference would not be profound in this situation, but the entire experience for the patient and/or the family can be improved as well as quality of life. Patient education is also on the forefront of the BSN prepared nurse.
