The document discusses the benefits of exercise for mental health. Regular physical activity can help reduce anxiety and depression and improve mood and cognitive function. Exercise causes chemical changes in the brain that may help protect against mental illness and improve symptoms.
This document discusses the different types of "si clauses" or conditional sentences in French. There are three main types: first conditional for likely present or future situations, second conditional for unlikely past situations, and third conditional for impossible past situations. Examples of each type are provided along with their English equivalents using "if...then". A quiz with 15 example sentences follows to test understanding of the different conditional structures.
The document defines and provides examples for several words related to concepts like abstraction, compliance, expediting tasks, diligence, relevance, dissent, reverence, extolling, reprehensible actions, advocacy, pragmatism, endorsement, redundancy, conspicuousness, incessance, rigor, scrutiny, and discord.
Pakistan's telecom sector has three main components: policy formulation by the Ministry of Information Technology, regulation by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority, and operations by private sector companies. The sector is governed by legislation and policies that promote deregulation, mobile services, broadband, and next generation mobile spectrum. As of July 2015, Pakistan had over 136 million total phone lines, including over 18 million broadband subscribers, with broadband adoption increasing rapidly over the years. Major private operators have extensive domestic optic fiber networks, while the state-owned PTCL network covers over 23,000 km. The Universal Service Fund promotes infrastructure development and connectivity in underserved rural areas.
The document describes a project to construct a device that increases the wireless signal gain of an 802.11 WiFi adapter using a parabolic dish approach. The initial design failed due to the weight and instability of the dish. Testing indicated a potential 20 dB gain increase but the wireless adapter had issues receiving enough power. Alternative approaches using a Pringles can and a tin can were also attempted with limited success before legal issues with the FCC were discovered. The author learned several lessons and plans to continue research on new designs.
Dynamite fishing involves using explosives to kill or stun fish, which destroys coral reef habitats and ecosystems. It is an illegal practice still used in some areas due to issues like poverty, lack of jobs, ignorance of consequences, greed, and lack of discipline. The process involves making fuses from aluminum and ammonium nitrate, filling bottles with these explosives, attaching fuses and throwing the improvised bombs into the water to kill schools of fish, which divers then collect. In addition to dynamite fishing, other destructive illegal fishing methods mentioned are cyanide poisoning of reefs and using pounding devices to smash corals and scare out fish.

The document contains information about an activity called "Paper chain: Team Challenge" where participants work back to back with their hands behind their backs to create the longest possible paper chain within 4 minutes. For every 12 consecutive links, they will receive 10 bonus points. It also contains information about tier 2 vocabulary words for different grade levels and images related to staff brainstorming, independent reading, and thanking Jennifer Jones for her literacy resources available online.
This is a short overview of the shifts and thinking behind the Common Core Standards for ELA. This presentation was the first introduction to the staff, it's short and sweet and only the major points, as to not overwhelm with details of each major point. This powerpoint is licenced under Creative Commons. Feel free to use with your staff.
Reciprocal Teaching: A Comprehension StrategyJennifer Jones
The document summarizes the key techniques of reciprocal teaching, which is an instructional method for improving reading comprehension. It discusses setting up students with a complex text, diving into the text to question and think critically about it, clarifying understanding by discussing questions, and summarizing the key points. Visual aids are provided alongside each section to illustrate the techniques. The overall purpose is to teach students strategies for independently comprehending what they read.

Word Up! Vocabulary Instruction in the 21st Century ClassroomJennifer Jones
This is my presentation to accompany my (one day) Tier 2 and Tier 3 Hello Literacy workshop on vocabulary instruction. Perfect for Common Core, especially if your school is implementing a school-wide vocabulary instruction focus. This workshop includes the work of Marzano, the 6-Step Process, Vocabulary Notebooks, the work of Beck & McKeown, and the creation of Text Talk lessons.
This document provides an overview of the Common Core literacy model and standards. It discusses the key elements of the Common Core including reading strands, writing types, speaking and listening skills, and foundational skills. It explains the three Common Core practices of building knowledge through content, text-based reading and responding, and regular practice with complex texts. It also discusses what the standards value in reading comprehension and what they don't value. Finally, it discusses what this all means for implementing the Common Core in schools.

-avoir de meilleurs conseils pour réussir jeune ?
- qu’on vous offre des conseils de la vie ?
Ce document est une ressource qui met en évidence deux obstacles qui empêchent les jeunes de mener une vie épanouie : l'inaction et le pessimisme.
1) Découvrez comment l'inaction, c'est-à-dire le fait de ne pas agir ou d'agir alors qu'on le devrait ou qu'on est censé le faire, est un obstacle à une vie épanouie ;
> Comment l'inaction affecte-t-elle l'avenir du jeune ? Que devraient plutôt faire les jeunes pour se racheter et récupérer ce qui leur appartient ? A découvrir dans le document ;
