This document discusses using eye tracking and think aloud testing to optimize a website's conversion rate. Eye tracking can reveal misconceptions about how users view a page and identify difficulties finding key elements. A case study tested users reserving storage space and found changing the call-to-action from "Find your store and reserve your unit" to "Start here" increased clicks by 68% by being more clear and actionable. The document advocates eye tracking and think aloud testing provides clear, measurable insights to improve users' experience and a website's performance.
The document discusses using a shared C# codebase across mobile and server platforms. It allows for 100% native API access on iOS, Android, and Windows while sharing backend code. It also enables offline sync functionality across these platforms using REST APIs, Azure Mobile Apps, and services like SQL, MongoDB, Office 365 APIs. The document provides code examples for creating a mobile service client, defining data tables, and performing CRUD operations to get, add, and modify data from the tables.
IS Retreat - Organizational Maturity (4-21-14)Scott Genung
The document discusses organizational maturity in information services. It defines organizational maturity as the degree to which an organization is aligned with its enterprise mission to maximize value delivery. Higher maturity is perceived as greater value. The document outlines five levels of maturity across people, processes, and technology and how more mature organizations gain benefits like predictability, productivity, quality and satisfaction. It summarizes a recent assessment of the information services department which found issues like a lack of strategy, siloed teams, limited documentation, communication problems and outdated tools, indicating the organization is relatively immature currently.
