Are Cardiologists Becoming Too Dependent on EHRs?
Electronic health records (EHRs) have made life easier for cardiologists by capturing patient medical information and sharing it easily. However, Medicare reimbursement cuts and administrative burdens have made private practice difficult for cardiologists. EHRs can help cardiologists manage tasks more efficiently by tracking medical and administrative activities, understanding patients' medical histories and conditions, and examining the heart. While EHRs assist cardiologists, they should not become too reliant on software and must treat patients based on their own expertise.
ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENTS USED IN HOSPITALS
Medical equipment can be categorized into 9 groups and includes diagnostic, self-care, surgical, durable medical, acute care, emergency/trauma, long-term care, storage/transport, and electronic equipment. Electronic medical equipment includes software like electronic medical records, imaging software, monitors to record patient health status, medication pumps to dispense medications, powered beds and exam tables, digital blood pressure monitors, sphygmomanometers to measure blood pressure, and electrocardiographs to measure the heart's electrical activity and diagnose heart conditions.

This study assessed the use of personal digital assistants (PDAs) in conjunction with electronic medical records (EMRs) by physician assistants (PAs) through a questionnaire sent to recent graduates. Of 122 respondents, 72 used PDAs but only 5 used PDAs with EMRs, suggesting barriers to adoption. Those using PDAs and EMRs perceived benefits like improved quality of care and efficiency. However, adoption of the combined technology lags behind individual adoption, and future research is needed to understand barriers and promote integration.

At times, it becomes necessary to share patient details using EMRs, when patients need medical attention from different doctors. EMR involves sharing individual information over the digital media. This calls for a cautious and secure exchange of data.

The first topic is CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures). I have published CVEs many times. But what exactly is a CVE? I'll provide a basic understanding of CVEs and explain how to detect and handle vulnerabilities in OSS.
