Organizations all over the world have their leaders to thank for their company's success. Without
good leadership organizations today would not be as successful. Many organizations invest millions
to ensure that their leaders receive continuous training. Some of today's big organizations like Apple,
PF Chang's, McDonalds, FedEx, Lockheed Martin, and Procter and Gamble have their phenomenal
leaders to thank for their success.
Most of us are familiar with the computer company called Apple. Apple is a giant in the computer
industry and is well known amongst their competitors. Apple's founder Steve Jobs is also another
well–known leader. According to Lussier and Achua (2010), "Fortune ranked Apple number on its

Lussier and Achua (2010), stated that "Even many who feared him also had great respect for him as
he did inspire loyalty, enthusiasm, and high levels of performance through continuous innovation"
(pg. 25). His ability to lead his employees and organization to a top ranked organization is a
reflection of great leadership.
In the restaurant industry P. F. Chang's chairman and CEO Rick Federico's leadership skills are
reflected in the organizations success. When looking for an upscale Asian restaurant, people tend to
go to P. F. Chang's restaurant to enjoy great tasting food. As a well
–respected leader, Federico's
leadership skills involve experience and high expectations for his staff and restaurant. Lussier and
Achua (2010), stated that Federico "Expects results from every team, manager, and worker" (26).
News Sentinel (2002), commented about Federico and his partner that "They geared food,
atmosphere and prices to young people looking for a good time and a relaxed atmosphere" (pg. E. 1).
Federico is the master mind behind the development and growth of the P.F. Chang franchise. He took
one restaurant and turned it into a chain of over sixty eight upscale restaurants from coast to coast.
According to News Sentinel (2002), "Rick Federico tours the empty building, sees its future as a new
restaurant and remembers when it championed another restaurant trend in Knoxville" (pg. E 1). This
statement suggests that Federico had the

Reflection Paper On Success
Have you ever wondered what success was? Or how success would look and feel?
What is success to you? Let me tell you what success is in my opinion success is multiple steps to
different achievements to obtain your goal and become happy. People have different views on
success, Success could be having a lot of money, Being happy, or Achieving your lifetime goal.
Success means different things to different people depending on what they love. The highest
thing in success is society. A lot of people don't understand how their success relates to other
people's success. Your success could really affect other on what they think of success is, They
might look at their view of success and be like "This isn't success" because the way you view your
success. Some people think of failure if they also don't succeed, but failure is just the end of an
idea or your dream goal. When I fail I can easily move on to something else with a stronger
mentality thinking it'll succeed. Have you ever wondered what success was? Well the time I
wondered what success was, I thought success was just a job that you get after you then
graduated high school, and college to get a high paycheck or higher salary, Relationships with
other people, maintaining that relationship with friends and families, and look back into life and
influence others to achieve those goals to be "Successful". What does success look like to you?
After I figured out that everyone has different meanings for success I believe that success is being
able to do anything you desire that is your passion, setting a goal for it and becoming happy. For
example, I love playing football and I have been playing I been playing football since I was 12.
My goal with football was to earn scholarships to get me into college to be a dentist. When I was
younger, I would always watch football motivation videos along with highlights to pick up on
little things I can learn to become better once I played football in high school, I have become an
great football player, but because I have a strong passion for the sport and I have earned multiple
scholarships and got accepted into Wooster College to become my next goal in life which is to be a
dentist, and do something I love that would

you are so smart you get to skip grades, it just means that you get good marks, work well with
others, and don't get held back any grades. If you are a person who wants to keep your life on track,

Studying skills will help you be more successful as well, there is also to much studying. To much
studying can cause stress, and dense learning habits, also pushing your self to hard may ruin
learning skills and cause your self to feel bad, or not as intelligent. Study skills for tests, quizzes,
and exams is very important. Evenly spreading out study time will increase memory of the
subjects you learn. Taking frequent breaks will make studying less stressful. Using flash cards,
web sites, computers, or just a pencil and paper are all great ways to study. Having an answer sheet
to refer to, and look over when your done will also help study and learning skills because it can help
you see what you did wrong and need to fix. Having a study group or club before big tests, like
exams or diplomas, will help you have more fun with your friends when studying.
Also study at home with adults to help you. Having friends to study with will increase your
enjoyment of learning, and learning to learn. Doing homework right after you get home from school
is good because you might still remember what to do and what you need to study. Doing
homework in the morning can make it less likely for you to sleep or enjoy your day. If you enjoy
writing or reading a job may be based on writing in a future date, but if you dislike reading you
might want a job such as a doctor.

Persuasive Essay On Success
Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be
successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in
meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that
highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success
is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race,
religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for
everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It"
encourages its audience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it
happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which
include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun
(Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed
the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am
also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as
confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to
work for it. Even the background music playing provoked an internal motivation to be proactive.

Argumentative essays are very important because of their ability to help people argue in a mature
manner. However, many people do not know how to successfully write an argumentative essay.
Writing argumentative essays is easy once they are broken down into a few simple parts. These
essays should be taken seriously and written with passion and facts. To write a successful
argumentative essay, start off with a good hook, make claims that are backed by evidence, and then
refute the opposing side's arguments.
The first step in creating a successful argumentative essay is to write a powerful introduction. This
includes a hook, background information, and your thesis. A good hook can include a funny
anecdote, a shocking fact, or an inspiring quote.

Definition Essay About Being Successful
Growing up, I learned to equate being successful with money and power. I grew up watching my
favorite athletes and celebrities boasting about their money on television and thought to myself,
how cool would it be to be that successful in life. Now that I am older, I realize there is more to life
than money, cars, and all different types of materialistic things. Merriam–Webster describessuccess
as the "degree or measure of succeeding". Success is a very personal thing in this world. What
drives one person to be successful may be completely different to another and that is what gives the
word success so much dimension to it. One measure of success is happiness. One person may feel
their happiest when they own a number of expensive things. They

My Definition Of Success
Success. What does it mean? Successfulness is when you can live your life comfortably, happy,
with enough money, or make your life the way you want it. Someone who lives a comfortable,
happy, life with enough money to live is a success. A success could be anyone that tries in life. If
that someone tries and puts more than 100% into what they do, they will be successful. A success is
someone that is happy, comfortable, has enough money to live, and makes their life the way they
want it to be. If you are happy with your life, you are a success. Most of the time, you tried hard to
make your life good. You did what it took to make your life a happy life. Some people live under a
rock waiting for something good to happen and most of the time, that doesn't happen because they
don't apply themselves to what they need to do....show more content...
It means you tried hard at what you do to earn your comfortable life. You could have a job at the
local McDonald's making $7.50 an hour working 10 hour shifts and not try hard. Because you
didn't try hard, you are still working minimum wage, and haven't got a raise. Because you didn't
have a raise, you didn't have enough money to buy stuff that was more comfortable in your house.
If you have enough money to live, be comfortable and be happy, you are a success. If you have
enough money to live your life the way you want it to be, you clearly have applied yourself more
than what you thought you could do. You tried so hard you succeeded. Look at Warren Buffet, he
tried so hard, and applied himself to everything he did, he became one of the richest people in the

Success Definition Essay
Success, by definition, means "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose." This, of course, has
many different meanings apart from its dictionary definition. These meanings spread across many
people and many different ways of life. Depending on your way of life this word can mean many
different things. Some believe success to be the amount of wealth one has. Some people define the
word as being happy with whom you are and the life you have come to live. Some would argue it
means having a family to call your own and raising them. None of these outlooks on the word can
necessarily be perceived as wrong, the different meanings just represent ones outlook on life.
Success, to some people, can mostly be defined by the amount of wealth a person has. This mind
set, being very popular in today's culture, has a very big influence over many people. Most
people's goals and ambitions include having more than some people or more worldly
possessions. Many people perceive this mindset to be very bad. Although this mindset tends to be
perceived as bad by many people, some people believe it is the only true way to be successful. Many
people who achieve this sort of success tend to be very distant and generally not as happy as one
would believe they would be. Having wealth, although it can be very good, tends to...show more

achieving it in their teens. This kind of success can lead to true happiness and having a very good
outlook on life in general. This type of success can be very rewarding, even more so than most

Success Definition Essay
Defining success is quite difficult as success means differently to each and every person. The literal
meaning of success would be attaining your aim or goal with great accomplishment. However, my
definition of success is accomplishing the goal you have set your mind on without putting it off and
strongly continuing it with enthusiasm. Success is also you because success is created through you
and accomplish by you. Success has many meaning and perspectives so it is clearly difficult to
define it through your own opinion without any controversy. However, not everyone would agree
with me but it is better to reach success with a clear and happy mind instead of a stress and tired
mind. Accomplishing success is difficult and tiring but it teaches

Introduction for a Successful Company Essay

Profile of a Successful Company:
Southwest Airlines
Eileen Bertera
Southern New Hampshire University
Executive Summary
Upon review on a profile of a successful company we see Southwest Airlines as a prime example.
Their ability to recognize weakness in their management system and adjust strategies has allowed
them to emerge as a leader in the US airline industry. Southwest is the largest US low fare carrier
with low fare rates, no additional fees and excellent customer service. Southwest Airlines currently
has one of the most innovative management practices in the US to date. A review of the critical
elements of Southwest Airlines proves to be effective and innovative.

Organizational Culture
Southwest Airlines incorporates a team orientated culture by cross training its employees so they
are capable of helping each other if necessary. The company place a strong emphasis on training
work teams and cultivating employee citizenship behavior. Employees participate in twice daily
meetings where they can discuss any issues and determine a course of action. Job applicants who
are not viewed as team players are not hired. This team oriented organizational culture offers more
positive relationships with managers and coworkers thus providing a quality workplace.
Management Decision Making Process
Southwest Airlines encourages respect, innovation, a caring attitude and strives to adhere to all labor
and employment laws which includes respecting privacy and equal opportunity. With a strong
concern for avoiding corruption and avoiding anti–competitive behavior, they work hard to maintain
accountability of all business practices. An example of this is the promotion of competition to
provide consumers low air fares and a variety of high quality air service offerings across the US. This
shows their devotion to the community they serve and maintains the company culture.
How Management Adheres to the Principles if Ethics
Southwest Airlines managers live the vision of the company by incorporating the vision into their
everyday lives. Community, environment and caring are the

Definition Essay: What Makes Someone A Success
What makes someone a success? In my opinion, to be a success you must be viewed as one by
others by achieving a difficult goal. Anyone can feel successful, depending on how they define
success, but that does not mean others will think they are a success. I believe a big part of the
idea of success is your point of view. I also think that in order to be seen as a success you must
accomplish a goal that will astonish others. Some people I, as well as many people around the
world, view as successful are very wealthy. However, to me it is not about how much money you
have, how big your house is, what kind of clothes you wear, or any of that stuff. To me it is about
how determined you are, and how much you will strive to be the greatest even when

Reflective Essay On Personal Success
There is a connection between personal success and the factors that are present in the beginning,
during, and those that develop along the way to guarantee success. Intrinsic motivation,
self–efficacy, time management, and academic preparation are pertinent factors and play an
imperative role. To prevent mymotivation from burning out in this program, my program, I
perceive it as many minor tasks that involve careful planning, hours of nurture, and different
degrees of time management. Keeping my eyes on the little goals that I will accomplish along
the way will lead to the grand goal: my Master's in English. Reminding myself of past educational
accomplishments like when I was a single parent and was borrowing loan after loan to complete
my degrees serves as a daily motivator. A recent preview of my future courses also sparked a fire
in my soul and enthusiasm. This program will also involve stress. Something that I do not always
handle well, but avoiding too much on my plate, asking for help from my family, professors, and
seeking the help of the Writing Center Tutors and Library personnel, to name a few, assists in
minimizing the stress and prevents me from losing concentration. Spreading out my reading,
assessments, writing assignments into smaller tasks lets me focus on quality. For example, this
self–assessment report I approached it in segments that involved developing it one paragraph at a
time. I spread out the work versus trying to tackle it all at once.

According to this ethic, Jesus has it absolutely backward. In a culture of upward mobility, Jesus
teaches downward mobility – that we should all be servants, not masters. In a culture where
materialism and power are prized above everything else, Jesus comes off as a flaming ignoramus
who knows little if anything about how careers work. Some public servants fall prey to worldly
temptations. We read about them in the media. They get into trouble because they forget that the
public servant should purposely and knowingly take on the role of, well, a servant. There is
nothing wrong with acquiring nice things for your family and advancing your career through
hard work. But the Christian public servant hears a cry that goes beyond the calling of status;
beyond the calling of domination which is so clearly heard in our times. The Christian public
servant is called to stand with Christ and against the culture. The Christian public servant knows
that Jesus is not a flaming ignoramus, but is the true reflection of God. Service is the end, not the
means. Service is to be exalted not demeaned. Others (all others) are to be respected, not
denigrated. This is the ethic of Jesus, and practicing it makes all the difference in our jobs and in
our lives. As this work week begins, let all Christian public servants hear the cry that goes beyond
the calling of this world. In our jobs as elsewhere, let us be a reflection of

6. . . . take good notes.
Successful students take notes that are understandable and organized, and review them often. Why
put something into your notes you don't understand? Ask the questions now that are necessary to
make your notes meaningful at some later time. A short review of your notes while the material is
still fresh on your mind helps your learn more. The more you learn then, the less you'll have to learn
later and the less time it will take because you won't have to include some deciphering time, also.
The whole purpose of taking notes is to use them, and use them often. The more you use them, the
more they improve.
7. . . . understand that actions affect learning.
Successful students know their personal behavior affect their feelings and emotions which in turn
can affect learning. If you act in a certain way that normally produces particular feelings, you will
begin to experience those feelings. Act like you're bored, and you'll become bored. Act like you're
uninterested, and you'll become uninterested. So the next time you have trouble concentrating in the
classroom, "act" like an interested person: lean forward, place your feet flat on the floor, maintain
eye contact with the professor, nod occasionally, take notes, and ask questions. Not only will you
benefit directly from your actions, your classmates and professor may also get more excited and
enthusiastic.
8. . . . talk about what they're learning.

Essay on Plan for Success
Planning is a process of establishing a mission with clear goals as a means to achieve them. Good
planning requires special skills and perspectives allowing decision–makers to understand the
challenges they are facing and apply the most effective solution to a problem. In order to achieve
success, one must plan accordingly. Planning can be short term or long term. Short term plans are
done on daily basis and are easier to achieve than long term plans. Long term plans are also known
as strategic plans and are used to achieve a long range vision or mission of a company. In both
methods of planning, short term and long term, is necessary to achieve top notch results. Like in any
other process, there are both benefits and pitfalls to a...show more content...
The main pitfall of planning is the misconception members have believing that planning solves
problems. Too often, planners rely on opinions and hunches rather than facts. Once a plan has
been established, all members in the organization need to be aware that issues may arise down
the line and work environment can change unexpectedly. Some companies become so committed
to achieving their goals that they fail to recognize the incremental changes in their plan and work
environment. The lack of flexibility and creativity in an action plan can significantly affect an
organization's purpose. Another comparison to a good planning is the goal setting process. Goal
setting can help turn a company's vision into a reality, if the process is used accordingly. By
precisely knowing what to achieve, associates can focus their effort on what is more important
than on things that are less important. Goals require flexibility in the process, if there is no
flexibility added to the process, goals would soon provide no reason at all. One way of setting
effective and achievable goals is to use the S.M.A.R.T guideline. The S.M.A.R.T guideline is the
first component of the goals setting process and is a useful tool in planning. The acronym stands
for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. Clear and Specific goals are easier to
accomplish than common goals because it contains a specific reason that clearly defines what is
about to happen. In addition to being

Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford

great and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few

to adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came
around and little by little they gave me the time I needed to study and do homework. I still have to
overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all
the changes that come with me returning to school.
One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be
obedient in all the discussions and the assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I
have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my educational
goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from
my instructors. I feel that I need to keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback
from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and learner.
There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to
have a successful completion of my degree.
I will have to keep doing all these helpful strategies that have gotten me this far. For example, using

In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or
the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I

They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the

What Makes A Successful Career Essay
The reasons why people succeed in their careers are probably as numerous as the number of
successful people. When we begin to think about the qualities these people possess, it becomes
apparent that we can classify or catagorize them into a few specific groups–those who
really enjoy their work, those who are obsessed with their work (they either want to be the 'best';
or have a fear of failure), those who are blessed with exceptional talent in their field, and those who
have planned their work and worked their plan. Perhaps as I describe them, you will identify which
group applies to you.
The first group of people with successful careers I'd like to discuss is those who simply enjoy their

There are any number of explanations for why these people are the way they are and, while I'm no
psychologist, I'd like to offer my own personal observation.
Of the people I've known over the years who fall into this category two basic types exist. One is the
person who has to be the 'Best';. It makes no difference what they are doing; this individual will
pour every ounce of their heart and soul into being successful. The other type is essentially no
different than the first one I've described. Primarily the difference lies in their
motivation–this person is successful due to a fear of failure. Although, the driver is
different, the means by which they achieve their goal is the same; they pour heart and soul into
accomplishing success.
There are others who can attribute success in their career to nothing more than exceptional talent.
They have any uncanny ability to perform at a level unmatched by any one else. The people who
fall into this category most often come to mind when we think of careers in sports. This is not to
say that our sports superstars have not devoted a lifetime of work toward being a successful
athlete and I would never slight their personal sacrifices or the hard work they have endured.
However, I do believe it safe to say that juke 'm and duke 'm moves like Barry Sanders (former

then putting a lot of efforts in achieving those goals. That is, he was accomplishing his work tasks

What where the reasons behind Mohammed's success in his job? In my opinion he, he succeeded

– He was an ambitious employee because he was looking for a better grade and higher promotions.
– He liked his job and had a desire to do the best he can, so his job satisfaction made him successful.
– He tried to create and invent new ways of doing his tasks, so his creativity made his job interesting.
– His initiatives to do additional jobs and his participation in the various committees and the staff
club made him an open employee and gave him the confidence in performing his duties.
On the other hand, what were the reasons behind Abdullah's failure in his job? In my opinion, he
failed because:
– He was caring only about his family and friends without accomplishing the other required duties.
– His accumulated works bothered his manager and colleagues and didn't respond to their advices
positively. Therefore, he created bad relations with other employees in the bank because of his bad

– He was lacking the desire to serve the bank in which he was working.

His ability to lead his employees and organization to a top ranked organization is a reflection of great leadership. In the restaurant industry P. F. Chang's chairman and CEO Rick Federico's leadership skills are reflected in the organizations success. When looking for an upscale Asian restaurant, people tend to go to P. F. Chang's restaurant to enjoy great tasting food. As a well –respected leader, Federico's leadership skills involve experience and high expectations for his staff and restaurant. Lussier and Achua (2010), stated that Federico "Expects results from every team, manager, and worker" (26). News Sentinel (2002), commented about Federico and his partner that "They geared food, atmosphere and prices to young people looking for a good time and a relaxed atmosphere" (pg. E. 1). Federico is the master mind behind the development and growth of the P.F. Chang franchise. He took one restaurant and turned it into a chain of over sixty eight upscale restaurants from coast to coast. According to News Sentinel (2002), "Rick Federico tours the empty building, sees its future as a new restaurant and remembers when it championed another restaurant trend in Knoxville" (pg. E 1). When I fail I can easily move on to something else with a stronger mentality thinking it'll succeed. Have you ever wondered what success was? Well the time I wondered what success was, I thought success was just a job that you get after you then graduated high school, and college to get a high paycheck or higher salary, Relationships with other people, maintaining that relationship with friends and families, and look back into life and influence others to achieve those goals to be "Successful". What does success look like to you? • 4. Persuasive Essay On Success Goals, something every human being on this planet has and to reach those goals you must be successful. We set goals to fulfill our purpose in life, but to do that, you must be successful in meeting and completing those goals. "How Bad Do You Want It?" is a motivational speech that highlights the requirements of being successful. This speech is important to study because success is so vital and important for our survival as human beings, it changes the world. No matter your race, religion, culture, etc., you want to be successful and that will have a different definition for everyone, because only you can define what success means to you. "How Bad Do You Want It" encourages its audience to think differently about wanting to be successful and how to make it happen. This speech holds all the components Aristotle says a speech needs to be effective which include, persuasive, decorative, and informational, also meaning motivational, actionable, and fun (Morgan, 2016). While watching the football player perform each exercise repeatedly, I witnessed the effort and dedication he exerted through each set – this commitment resonated with me, as I am also an athlete who is expected to elicit these qualities. Not only hay, the video serves as confirmation that success is only attainable for those who want it bad enough and are willing to work for it. • 6. Definition Essay About Being Successful Growing up, I learned to equate being successful with money and power. I grew up watching my favorite athletes and celebrities boasting about their money on television and thought to myself, how cool would it be to be that successful in life. Now that I am older, I realize there is more to life than money, cars, and all different types of materialistic things. Merriam–Webster describessuccess as the "degree or measure of succeeding". Success is a very personal thing in this world. What drives one person to be successful may be completely different to another and that is what gives the word success so much dimension to it. • 7. My Definition Of Success Success. What does it mean? Successfulness is when you can live your life comfortably, happy, with enough money, or make your life the way you want it. Someone who lives a comfortable, happy, life with enough money to live is a success. A success could be anyone that tries in life. If that someone tries and puts more than 100% into what they do, they will be successful. A success is someone that is happy, comfortable, has enough money to live, and makes their life the way they want it to be. If you are happy with your life, you are a success. Most of the time, you tried hard to make your life good. You did what it took to make your life a happy life. Because you didn't have a raise, you didn't have enough money to buy stuff that was more comfortable in your house. If you have enough money to live, be comfortable and be happy, you are a success. If you have enough money to live your life the way you want it to be, you clearly have applied yourself more than what you thought you could do. You tried so hard you succeeded. Look at Warren Buffet, he tried so hard, and applied himself to everything he did, he became one of the richest people in the United Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 8. Success Definition Essay Success, by definition, means "the accomplishment of an aim or purpose." This, of course, has many different meanings apart from its dictionary definition. These meanings spread across many people and many different ways of life. Depending on your way of life this word can mean many different things. Some believe success to be the amount of wealth one has. Some people define the word as being happy with whom you are and the life you have come to live. Some would argue it means having a family to call your own and raising them. None of these outlooks on the word can necessarily be perceived as wrong, the different meanings just represent ones outlook on life. Success, to some people, can mostly be defined by the amount of wealth a person has. This mind set, being very popular in today's culture, has a very big influence over many people. Most people's goals and ambitions include having more than some people or more worldly possessions. Many people perceive this mindset to be very bad. Although this mindset tends to be perceived as bad by many people, some people believe it is the only true way to be successful. Many people who achieve this sort of success tend to be very distant and generally not as happy as one would believe they would be. • 9. Success Definition Essay Defining success is quite difficult as success means differently to each and every person. The literal meaning of success would be attaining your aim or goal with great accomplishment. However, my definition of success is accomplishing the goal you have set your mind on without putting it off and strongly continuing it with enthusiasm. Success is also you because success is created through you and accomplish by you. Success has many meaning and perspectives so it is clearly difficult to define it through your own opinion without any controversy. However, not everyone would agree with me but it is better to reach success with a clear and happy mind instead of a stress and tired mind. • 11. Definition Essay: What Makes Someone A Success What makes someone a success? In my opinion, to be a success you must be viewed as one by others by achieving a difficult goal. Anyone can feel successful, depending on how they define success, but that does not mean others will think they are a success. I believe a big part of the idea of success is your point of view. I also think that in order to be seen as a success you must accomplish a goal that will astonish others. Some people I, as well as many people around the world, view as successful are very wealthy. However, to me it is not about how much money you have, how big your house is, what kind of clothes you wear, or any of that stuff. To me it is about how determined you are, and how much you will strive to be the greatest even when Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 12. Reflective Essay On Personal Success There is a connection between personal success and the factors that are present in the beginning, during, and those that develop along the way to guarantee success. Intrinsic motivation, self–efficacy, time management, and academic preparation are pertinent factors and play an imperative role. To prevent mymotivation from burning out in this program, my program, I perceive it as many minor tasks that involve careful planning, hours of nurture, and different degrees of time management. Keeping my eyes on the little goals that I will accomplish along the way will lead to the grand goal: my Master's in English. Reminding myself of past educational accomplishments like when I was a single parent and was borrowing loan after loan to complete my degrees serves as a daily motivator. A recent preview of my future courses also sparked a fire in my soul and enthusiasm. This program will also involve stress. Something that I do not always handle well, but avoiding too much on my plate, asking for help from my family, professors, and seeking the help of the Writing Center Tutors and Library personnel, to name a few, assists in minimizing the stress and prevents me from losing concentration. Spreading out my reading, assessments, writing assignments into smaller tasks lets me focus on quality. For example, this self–assessment report I approached it in segments that involved developing it one paragraph at a time. I spread out the work versus trying to tackle it all at once. According to this ethic, Jesus has it absolutely backward. In a culture of upward mobility, Jesus teaches downward mobility – that we should all be servants, not masters. In a culture where materialism and power are prized above everything else, Jesus comes off as a flaming ignoramus who knows little if anything about how careers work. Some public servants fall prey to worldly temptations. We read about them in the media. They get into trouble because they forget that the public servant should purposely and knowingly take on the role of, well, a servant. There is nothing wrong with acquiring nice things for your family and advancing your career through hard work. But the Christian public servant hears a cry that goes beyond the calling of status; beyond the calling of domination which is so clearly heard in our times. The Christian public servant is called to stand with Christ and against the culture. The Christian public servant knows that Jesus is not a flaming ignoramus, but is the true reflection of God. Service is the end, not the means. Service is to be exalted not demeaned. Others (all others) are to be respected, not denigrated. This is the ethic of Jesus, and practicing it makes all the difference in our jobs and in our lives. As this work week begins, let all Christian public servants hear the cry that goes beyond the calling of this world. Tips for Successful Students Essay examples Tips for Successful Students Guidelines and Thoughts for Academic Success Adapted and shortened in 2005 by Alison Lake and Carl von Baeyer from a web page by Steve Thien, Kansas State University, which was based on the following articles in The Teaching Professor. Larry M Ludewig, "Ten Commandments for Effective Study Skills," Dec 1992. John H. Williams, "Clarifying Grade Expectations," Aug/Sep 1993. Paul Solomon and Annette Nellon, "Communicating About the Behavioral Dimensions of Grades," Feb 1996. Successful students take notes that are understandable and organized, and review them often. Why put something into your notes you don't understand? Ask the questions now that are necessary to make your notes meaningful at some later time. A short review of your notes while the material is still fresh on your mind helps your learn more. The more you learn then, the less you'll have to learn later and the less time it will take because you won't have to include some deciphering time, also. The whole purpose of taking notes is to use them, and use them often. The more you use them, the more they improve. 7. . . . understand that actions affect learning. Successful students know their personal behavior affect their feelings and emotions which in turn can affect learning. If you act in a certain way that normally produces particular feelings, you will begin to experience those feelings. Act like you're bored, and you'll become bored. Act like you're uninterested, and you'll become uninterested. So the next time you have trouble concentrating in the classroom, "act" like an interested person: lean forward, place your feet flat on the floor, maintain eye contact with the professor, nod occasionally, take notes, and ask questions. Not only will you benefit directly from your actions, your classmates and professor may also get more excited and enthusiastic. 8. . . . talk about what they're learning. • 15. Essay on Plan for Success Planning is a process of establishing a mission with clear goals as a means to achieve them. Good planning requires special skills and perspectives allowing decision–makers to understand the challenges they are facing and apply the most effective solution to a problem. In order to achieve success, one must plan accordingly. Planning can be short term or long term. Short term plans are done on daily basis and are easier to achieve than long term plans. Long term plans are also known as strategic plans and are used to achieve a long range vision or mission of a company. In both methods of planning, short term and long term, is necessary to achieve top notch results. Like in any other process, there are both benefits and pitfalls to a...show more content... The main pitfall of planning is the misconception members have believing that planning solves problems. Too often, planners rely on opinions and hunches rather than facts. Once a plan has been established, all members in the organization need to be aware that issues may arise down the line and work environment can change unexpectedly. Some companies become so committed to achieving their goals that they fail to recognize the incremental changes in their plan and work environment. The lack of flexibility and creativity in an action plan can significantly affect an organization's purpose. Another comparison to a good planning is the goal setting process. Goal setting can help turn a company's vision into a reality, if the process is used accordingly. By precisely knowing what to achieve, associates can focus their effort on what is more important than on things that are less important. Goals require flexibility in the process, if there is no flexibility added to the process, goals would soon provide no reason at all. One way of setting effective and achievable goals is to use the S.M.A.R.T guideline. The S.M.A.R.T guideline is the first component of the goals setting process and is a useful tool in planning. The acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic, and Timely. Clear and Specific goals are easier to accomplish than common goals because it contains a specific reason that clearly defines what is about to happen. • 16. My Success Story Essay My success to education Blondie Torres ENG. 121 Concetta Williams July 18, 2011 Looking back at the past eleven weeks I have grown and learned so much here at Ashford University. I never thought that I would actually accomplish my educational dreams and be successful in my life, but I definitely have proved, myself wrong. I love knowing that I am doing great and I really try to do my best in completing my homework on time, with the occasions of a few speed bumps along the way. I decided to return to school to further my education for many important reasons. I have struggled tremendously in the past with my five children and I wanted to change that life style for good. I am so very tired of trying to make ends meet and not...show more content... I decided to just go for it and I am so glad I did because I know now that I have overcome that fear and I feel as if I can accomplish anything and everything. I can also say that I have matured in many ways as a mother, first time college student, and being a single mother of five. My kids had to adjust to the new routine as well. They did not understand at first but eventually they came around and little by little they gave me the time I needed to study and do homework. I still have to overcome a few obstacles in order to complete my degree program, just like I had to overcome all the changes that come with me returning to school. One of the main obstacles I must achieve here at Ashford University is to listen, learn, and to be obedient in all the discussions and the assignments asked of me. Last but not least I have to say I have to overcome all negative feelings I get from time to time to complete all my educational goals. I need to be prepared mentally and physically for anything that is being asked of me from my instructors. I feel that I need to keep an open mind as well because I know all the feedback from classmates and instructors will be of great help in making me a better person and learner. There are a few things I must do to overcome all these certain obstacles here in college in order to have a successful completion of my degree. • 17. My Definition of Success Essay example "Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value." – Albert Einstein –– My personal definition would not include "stuff" at all. No one will care (and neither will you) what kind of car your drove or how big your house was when you're on your deathbed. Your thoughts will not be about your job, the office or how much money you made. Personal success is defined by how content and enjoyable your life is. That is not to say that challenges and disappointments aren't included in this. A rich, eventful and challenging life doing what you enjoy and positively affecting others seems to me to be just about right. Find a job you love and you'll never work another day in your life. I know I won't. In my...show more content... Past, present and future are all important to keep in perspective. Looking back and not having regrets is extremely satisfying. Your current situation and your contentment with it are also very important, and having goals and milestones to work toward in the future keeps you motivated and keeps life interesting and challenging. In this age in which we live, success is generally measured by the amount of money you earn, or the amount of wealth or power or number of promotions you've accumulated. I find that the older I grow, the more I view the people who are most happy and content with their lives as the most successful. Rich, poor or in between, they've tended to treat life as a journey, not a final destination. They took that trip when they were 25 even though they really couldn't afford it, they ordered the $55 bottle of wine with their filet because they knew that even though it was expensive it would enhance the meal so much more than water would. They took a chance on a start–up company, moved to Europe or Asia and experienced things that most people only dream about. If they managed to grow wealthy from the experience, so much the better. As long as moderation with most things is practiced, things won't spin out of control. Bottom line rules for a successful life: Always try new things. Listen twice as much as you talk. Travel as much as you can comfortably afford. Faith and family always come first – Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. What Makes A Successful Career Essay The reasons why people succeed in their careers are probably as numerous as the number of successful people. When we begin to think about the qualities these people possess, it becomes apparent that we can classify or catagorize them into a few specific groups–those who really enjoy their work, those who are obsessed with their work (they either want to be the 'best'; or have a fear of failure), those who are blessed with exceptional talent in their field, and those who have planned their work and worked their plan. Perhaps as I describe them, you will identify which group applies to you. The first group of people with successful careers I'd like to discuss is those who simply enjoy their work....show more content... There are any number of explanations for why these people are the way they are and, while I'm no psychologist, I'd like to offer my own personal observation. Of the people I've known over the years who fall into this category two basic types exist. One is the person who has to be the 'Best';. It makes no difference what they are doing; this individual will pour every ounce of their heart and soul into being successful. The other type is essentially no different than the first one I've described. Primarily the difference lies in their motivation–this person is successful due to a fear of failure. Although, the driver is different, the means by which they achieve their goal is the same; they pour heart and soul into accomplishing success. There are others who can attribute success in their career to nothing more than exceptional talent. They have any uncanny ability to perform at a level unmatched by any one else. The people who fall into this category most often come to mind when we think of careers in sports. This is not to say that our sports superstars have not devoted a lifetime of work toward being a successful athlete and I would never slight their personal sacrifices or the hard work they have endured. However, I do believe it safe to say that juke 'm and duke 'm moves like Barry Sanders (former running back for the Detroit Lines) and stretched out, flying through the air, Get more content on HelpWriting.net
