Advertising is a way of marketing communication used to encourage customer to purchase their
products. Nowadays, many companies try to advertise the best way possible so that they can
attract more other customers. Social psychology is very important for making an advertisement.
It is because advertisement is a nonverbal communication. Stereotype is belief about people
based on their membership in a group. From the advertisement that be given from the previous
page, I have a stereotype of Domino’s pizza are very delicious, good delivery service and also
cheaper than Pizza Hut. Yes, I agree with it because the advertisement mentioned that “Give me
Five! Give me Pizza”. That means we can get personal pizza from only RM5 and regular pizza
from only RM10 when take-away or dine in. Additionally, I have a lot of friend like to buy or
order Domino’s Pizza as a meal and also for party because they said it was really nice, cheap and
got a lot of bonus. However, still have a lot of people like Pizza Hut because Pizza Hut’s pizza is
thicker and made with many fresh ingredients. Just like me, I like Pizza Hut because Pizza Hut
has served mushroom soup although Domino’s Pizza is cheap. I stereotype Domino’s Pizza is
cheap and nice but does not mean that I should like it. I like Pizza Hut more than Domino’s Pizza.
As long as there are different races and cultures, stereotypes will never go away.
Furthermore, persuasion also use by advertiser to design their advertisement. Persuasion also
often makes use of entice word and image. There still have many types of persuasive strategies.
In the Domino’s advertisement, we can see that, there have some words like “From only RM5”,
“Insane Value 50%”, “Save RM6.80” and two different flavors pizza image. All this kind of
words and image are enticing the audience to buy the pizza. Besides, below the advertisement,
we can see that, there have six coupons. This coupon also is a persuasion because customer can
use the coupon to buy pizza and an extra preferential price and Domino’s Company also can
attract more customers to buy pizza. Moreover, the advertisement also mention that if register an

Express Card at any Domino’s store. We can have some bonus like get a free regular pizza
voucher and buy one free one all year along. An Express Card only RM25 for early bird renewal
before 31 January 2015 and for those register after the date is RM50. This also is a way to
persuasive customers. The examples above are just a few of the many persuasion techniques.
Look for examples of persuasion in your daily experience. Persuasion is a powerful force in daily
life and has a major influence on society and a whole. Thank You.
