3. Robotics deals with the design,
construction, operation, and
use of robots, as well as
computer systems for their
control, sensory feedback, and
information processing. These
technologies are used to
develop machines that can
substitute for humans and
replicate human actions.
A robot is a machine—especially one
programmable by a computer— capable
of carrying out a complex series of
actions automatically. Robots can be
guided by an external control device or
the control may be embedded within.

suitable for humans. Robots
are widely used in

earth and space exploration,

12. QRIO ("Quest for cuRIOsity", originally
named Sony Dream Robot or SDR) was
a bipedal humanoid entertainment
robot developed and marketed (but
never sold) by Sony to follow up on the
success of its AIBO entertainment robot.
QRIO stood approximately 0.6 m (2
feet) tall and weighed 7.3 kg (16
pounds). QRIO's slogan was "Makes life
fun, makes you happy!"
13. ASIMO (whose name comes
from English initials or words Advanced Step
in Innovative Mobility) is a humanoid
robot created by Honda in 2000. It is currently
displayed in Miraikan museum in
the Japanese capital city of Tokyo. Honda
announced that it was stopping development of
the ASIMO project in June 2018.
14. Pepper is a semi-humanoid
robot manufactured by
SoftBank Robotics, which is
owned by SoftBank, designed
with the ability to read
emotions.
15. Actroid is a type of android with
strong visual human-likeness
developed by Osaka University
and manufactured by Kokoro
Company Ltd. It was first
unveiled at the 2003
International Robot Exhibition in
Tokyo, Japan.
16. AIBO is a series of robotic pets
designed and manufactured by Sony.
Sony announced a prototype Aibo in
mid-1998. The first consumer model
was introduced on May 11, 1999.
New models were released every year
until 2006.

18. HIROSHI ISHIGURO
Ishiguro concentrates on the idea of
making a robot that is as similar as
possible to a live human being.
Ishiguro has made an android that
resembles him, called the Geminoid.
19. Today we find most robots working for people in
industries, factories, warehouses, and laboratories. Robots
are useful in many ways. For instance, it boosts economy
because businesses need to be efficient to keep up with the
industry competition. Therefore, having robots helps
business owners to be competitive, because robots can do
jobs better and faster than humans can, e.g. robot can built,
assemble a car. Yet robots cannot perform every job; today
robots roles include assisting research and industry. Finally,
as the technology improves, there will be new ways to use
robots which will bring new hopes and new potentials.
