This is how I will introduce the topics to the learners
• There are two boys selling at school and selling an xbox to
a friend. The first boy is Tom and the second boy is John.
Tom wants to sell his xbox at a price of 2000 rands and the
colour is of the xbox is green which is different from other
xbox. He is willing to give away one game for free.
• The second boy John I selling his which is ordinary and at
the some price.
• Sihle the friend who want to buy the game has to check his
options and choose who to buy to. He came to a conclusion
to purchase Tom’s xbox because it was different, not
ordinary and has an free game as well.
4. Similarities between the story and

• Tom and John are competitors and they first have
market the product which is the xbox.
• The amount of money is the price of the product.
• Tom’s free game is known as promotion of the product.

Marketing Mix consists of the 4P’s
I will explain to the learners the 4ps in order for them to gain knowledge in this
area in order to do the activity later on in the lesson

*Place represents the location where a product
can be purchased
*It is often referred to as the distribution channel.
* It can include any physical store as well as virtual stores on the internet

Price
• The price is the amount a customer pays for a product.
• It is determined by the number of factors including market share, competition,
material costs, product identity and the customers perceived value of the
product.
• The business may increase or decrease the price of products if other stores have
the same product.
Promotion
• Promotion activities are meant to communicate and persuade the target
market to buy the company's products.
• This is done by:
• -advertising
• -personal selling
• -sales promotion
• - word of mouth

1. Draw your own product which is similar to any product you
usually know. For instance draw anything similar to coke or pepsi
and make it look better by considering the following factors;
The colour of the product, the size and the name of the product
The price of the product and cost of the product.
How you will promote that product. ( 15 marks )
2. Divide yourself into five equal groups, in your groups use the
following instructions to market your product to your classmates
3. For the last task you are required to do a presentation and
market your product using the four P’s ( 15 marks )

will be given to the learners
Do a research at your community based on the most
sold brand or product and then conduct a research
based on the four marking mix P’s. use the notes given
to complete the assignment. Ensure that for each P
state three facts based on the product.
