2. CFD – Initial Concepts
• Concept designs were created using CAD, these required validation
using a basic CFD model in 3D
• We used ANSYS FLUENT for all of the CFD simulations

• Results were plotted on graphs and 2D contour and vector plots in
order to compare and select the best designs

4. CFD – Vane Profiles
• Once concepts were selected we tested the selected vane profiles in
more detail to find the best design
