In cellular mobile communication the usage of MIMO FSO antenna system has shown the tremendous improvement in the quality of the signal. The MIMO system designed with the multiple transmitting & receiving antennas will help to increase the overall output gain as gain is proportional to the product of M transmitter and N receiver antennas‟. In MIMO free space optical communication the transmission of the optical signal required the direct line of sight communication, where there should not be any obstacle in between the transmission of the original signal. But in practicality meeting the above condition is more difficult as many obstacles like bulding, mountain existing in between the transmission path of the signal. So in order to come up with the solution for this problem we have to place the antennas‟ on height as on the top of the taller building, on top of the mountain so that it will help to eliminate the obstacle in between the transmisition path and to meet the criteria of the line of sight communication.

Power transmission line inspection using Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAV) is taking off as an exciting solution due to advances in sensors and flight technology. Extracting power-lines from aerial images, taken from the UAV, having complex natural surroundings is a critical task in the above problem. In this paper we propose an approach for suppressing natural surrounding that leads to power line detection. The results of applying our method on real-life video frames taken from a UAV demonstrate that our approach is very effective. We believe that our approach can be easily used for line detection in any other real outdoor video as well.

Observing that cooperative scheme benefits to non-orthogonal multiple access (NOMA) systems, we focus on system performance analysis of downlink. However, spectrum efficiency is still high priority to be addressed in existing systems and hence this paper presents full-duplex enabling in NOMA systems. Other challenge needs be considered related to channel state information (CSI). In particular, we derive closedform expressions of outage probability for such NOMA systems under the presence of CSI imperfection. Furthermore, to fully exploit practical environment, we provide system model associated with Nakagami-m fading. The Monte-Carlo simulations are conducted to verify the exactness of considered systems.

In WSN channel fading and radio interference constitute a big dispute in design of energy efficient communication protocol. To reduce fading and energy consumption in WSN, MIMO MISO SISO scheme is employed but implement multiple antenna technology to sensor network is improbable because of the sensor node generally support a single antenna. Cooperative scheme are utilized in WSN by applying the collective nature of the sensor nodes to provide reliable communication links in order to lower the total energy consumption. In this paper, the cooperative technique are inspected and by comparing different cooperative techniques we can elect the best cooperative scheme for energy constrained WS N application.

In amplify-and-forward (AF) relay channel, when the direct link between source and destination terminals is deeply faded, the signal from the source terminal to the destination terminal propagates through the relay terminals, each of which relays a signal received from the previous terminal to the next terminal in series. This paper, we theoretically analyze the performance of multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) AF free-space optical (FSO) systems. The AF-MIMO/FSO average channel capacity (ACC), which is expressed in terms of average spectral efficiency (ASE) is derived taking into account the atmospheric turbulence effects on the MIMO/FSO channel. They are modeled by log-normal and the gamma-gamma distributions for the cases of weak-to-strong turbulence conditions. We extract closed form mathematical expression for the evaluation of the ACC and we quantitatively discuss the influence of turbulence strength, link distance, different number of relay stations and different MIMO configurations on it.

To achieve this, our report is dwelling mainly on the analysis of the performanceof Phase Shift Keying modulation(M-PSK)and MAry Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM)in WCDMA with different modulation channels,by comparing channel element like Bit Error Ratein RAYLEIGH fading and AWGN Channels using Matlab/Simulink. This research analysis will assist/enable us determine which modulation technique is performance effective in WCDMAsystem via any of these channelsat higher run time and M-Ary number.

The propagation of information by electromagnetic waves suffers different types of interference, according to the characteristics of the environment. The 5G system relies on adaptive modulation and coding techniques to better suit the channel and maximize effective data exchange between the user equipment and the network. Practical studies on the behaviour of the system under different environmental conditions, subject to attenuation processes such as fading, are important to understand and improve the 5G efficiency. This work has analysed the effect of the MCS (Modulation and Coding Scheme) variation on throughput for channel degraded by the multipath fading effect in a mobile communication. The analysis was carried out showing that the decision algorithms in terms of MCS switching to maintain adequate data rates according to the requirement (QoS) is an important factor. Considering both 64 QAM and 256 QAM, the throughput degradation effect was more evident in higher-order modulations due to the higher probability of bit error in the symbol constellation. This study can be a key for understanding and developing robust MCS switcher for 5G and beyond communications.

This paper concerns about the radio propagation models used for the upcoming 4th Generation (4G) of cellular networks known as Long Term Evolution (LTE). The radio wave propagation model or path loss model plays a very significant role in planning of any wireless communication systems. In this paper, a comparison is made between different proposed radio propagation models that would be used for LTE, like Stanford University Interim (SUI) model, Okumura model, Hata COST 231 model, COST Walfisch-Ikegami & Ericsson 9999 model. The comparison is made using different terrains e.g. urban, suburban and rural area.SUI model shows the lowest path lost in all the terrains while COST 231 Hata model illustrates highest path loss in urban area and COST Walfisch-Ikegami model has highest path loss for suburban and rural environments.

Transcription factors bind in a combinatorial fashion to specify the on-and-off states of genes; the ensemble of these binding events forms a regulatory network, constituting the wiring diagram for a cell. To examine the principles of the human transcriptional regulatory network, we determined the genomic binding information of 119 transcription-related factors in over 450 distinct experiments. We found the combinatorial, co-association of transcription factors to be highly context specific: distinct combinations of factors bind at specific genomic locations. In particular, there are significant differences in the binding proximal and distal to genes. We organized all the transcription factor binding into a hierarchy and integrated it with other genomic information (for example, microRNA regulation), forming a dense meta-network. Factors at different levels have different properties; for instance, top-level transcription factors more strongly influence expression and middle-level ones co-regulate targets to mitigate information-flow bottlenecks. Moreover, these co-regulations give rise to many enriched network motifs (for example, noise-buffering feed-forward loops). Finally, more connected network components are under stronger selection and exhibit a greater degree of allele-specific activity (that is, differential binding to the two parental alleles). The regulatory information obtained in this study will be crucial for interpreting personal genome sequences and understanding basic principles of human biology and disease.

The RET proto-oncogene encodes a receptor tyrosine kinase for members of the glial cell line-derived neurotrophic factor family of extracellular signalling molecules. RET loss of function mutations are associated with the development of Hirschsprung's disease, while gain of function mutations are associated with the development of various types of human cancer, including medullary thyroid carcinoma, multiple endocrine neoplasias type 2A and 2B, pheochromocytoma and parathyroid hyperplasia. RET is an abbreviation for "rearranged during transfection", as the DNA sequence of this gene was originally found to be rearranged within a 3T3 fibroblast cell line following its transfection with DNA taken from human lymphoma cells. The human gene RET is localized to chromosome 10 (10q11.2) and contains 21 exons. The natural alternative splicing of the RET gene results in the production of 3 different isoforms of the protein RET. RET51, RET43 and RET9 contain 51, 43 and 9 amino acids in their C-terminal tail respectively. The biological roles of isoforms RET51 and RET9 are the most well studied in-vivo as these are the most common isoforms in which RET occurs. Common to each isoform is a domain structure. Each protein is divided into three domains: an N-terminal extracellular domain with four cadherin-like repeats and a cysteine-rich region, a hydrophobic transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain, which is split by an insertion of 27 amino acids. Within the cytoplasmic tyrosine kinase domain, there are 16 tyrosines (Tyrs) in RET9 and 18 in RET51. Tyr1090 and Tyr1096 are present only in the RET51 isoform. The extracellular domain of RET contains nine N-glycosylation sites. The fully glycosylated RET protein is reported to have a molecular weight of 170 kDa although it is not clear to which isoform this molecular weight relates.

Numerous sensors and developed systems or services can all communicate via smart devices like smartphones. A continuously broaden interest arises from local and national authorities for the benefits of applying IoT strategies in whole cities. With main focus on energy and water consumption, cities can reduce significantly their costs and become environmentally and economically sustainable. In the transition from smart homes to smart cities serious challenges should be take into consideration including a human-centric approach and the beneficiary involvement of the citizens for local and national authorities. The design of an IoT strategy for smart cities is a multifaceted procedure which includes the study of economic, urban, demographic and geographical indicators. In this paper, empirical evidence from selected case studies are presented.

From Smart Homes to Smart Cities: An approach based on Internet-of-Things

Social networking (Web 2.0) changed the way of interaction and communication of humans-to-humans, companies-to-customers, universities-to-students and state-to-citizens. The movement from static web pages (Web 1.0) to social networking and the rapid growth of smart devices created a new need for more complex data-on-demand across multiple platforms and devices. Cloud computing, miniaturization of sensors and low energy wireless technologies offered adequate possibilities to measure and understand environmental, health, industrial and other indicators, delivered in smart devices or in the web. The skyrocketing proliferation of the bidirectional communication between sensors and smart devices created a new series of products bringing us to the era of Internet-of-Things (IoT). The ubiquitous computing (presumed as Web 3.0) states that computing will appear in any device and in any location. Smart Wearable Systems (SWS) constitute the latest effort of academia and industry to toward this direction, aiming to enhance the communication and the velocity between IoT applications, smart devices (smartphones, tablets & smart TVs) and social networks. In this paper an analysis over social aspects of SWS is performed. Recent reports show that IoT market will be bigger than the total market of smart devices and PCs combined, enlarging the overall interest.

HMMER is used for searching sequence databases for homologs of protein sequences, and for making protein sequence alignments. It implements methods using probabilistic models called profile hidden Markov models (profile HMMs). Compared to BLAST, FASTA, and other sequence alignment and database search tools based on older scoring methodology, HMMER aims to be significantly more accurate and more able to detect remote homologs because of the strength of its underlying mathematical models. In the past, this strength came at significant computational expense, but in the new HMMER3 project, HMMER is now essentially as fast as BLAST. As part of this evolution in the HMMER software, we are committed to making the software available to as many scientists as possible. Earlier releases of HMMER were restricted to command line use. To make the software more accessible to the wide scientific community, we now provide servers that allow sequence searches to be performed interactively via the Web.

Created by Mozilla Research in 2012 and now part of Linux Foundation Europe, the Servo project is an experimental rendering engine written in Rust. It combines memory safety and concurrency to create an independent, modular, and embeddable rendering engine that adheres to web standards. Stewardship of Servo moved from Mozilla Research to the Linux Foundation in 2020, where its mission remains unchanged. After some slow years, in 2023 there has been renewed activity on the project, with a roadmap now focused on improving the engine’s CSS 2 conformance, exploring Android support, and making Servo a practical embeddable rendering engine. In this presentation, Rakhi Sharma reviews the status of the project, our recent developments in 2023, our collaboration with Tauri to make Servo an easy-to-use embeddable rendering engine, and our plans for the future to make Servo an alternative web rendering engine for the embedded devices industry.
