By the time they arrive home they will have
been away from home for 254 days and
sailed approximately 53,875NM:
That is equal to 99,776.5Km. The
circumference of the Earth at the equator is
40,075Km, meaning we’ve put enough
mileage on WINNIPEG in 8.5 months to
circumnavigate the globe 2.5 times!!
Crew Consumption to date:
• 14,580 L of milk
• 4,374 L of ketchup
• 2,083 L of ice cream
• 218,700 eggs
• 19,872 bananas
• 10,998 rolls of toilet paper;
– which is equivalent to 563 km of TP. If
rolled out end to end they can now
make it from the South to the North
end of Vancouver Island (460Km) AND
East to West (100Km) AND still have a
few rolls (58) left over…just in case.

After 8 months away we are finally on our way back home! Home to our Family and
friends whose love and support has made our success possible. To our spouses and
children, parents and friends who, although they remained at home, have deployed
with us through their sacrifice and hardship, we wholeheartedly thank you. You wear
the invisible uniform that is unseen by those around you, but puts such a weight to
bear on your shoulders while we are away. With tremendous gratitude to you, we can
all now celebrate HMCS WINNIPEG pointing her brow to Esquimalt and making her
best speed home to you. Our hearts are there already, we will be following close
behind.
