Notes de l'éditeur
Sea Life spotted includes whales and dolphins
Rounds fired covers everything from our small arms – Sig Sauer or C8, to our 57 mm gun on the foc’sle and our Evolved Sea Sparrow Missiles.
Milestones achieved: Some amazing milestones have been reached by our personnel. From roundsperson and watch keeper certifications to Phase VI Pre-boards and Officer of the Day Qualifications – there’s been a lot of dedication and hard work put in by Team VAN to reach these milestones.
Because of the great work our team did during RIMPAC, members on board were recognized for going above and beyond. We had 3 Comd MARPAC Coins and 2 Royal Australian Navy Bravo Zulus awarded to our teammates!
We also handed out two Shipborne Air Controller Specialty Badges to our two SACs – Master Sailors Nelson Holland and Jessica Silva. The pins are meant to recognize the increased work and responsibilities that come with the SAC position. MS Jessica Silva also achieved 1,000 hours of aircraft control time during RIMPAC – she is only the second person on the West Coast to hit that number!
