4. Objectives
• To create a platform for local and global youth
to represent themselves and express their
ideas for social change
• To dialogue and discuss about the three
themes of the Assembly
• To create a sense of brotherhood among the
participating nations
• To make room for a cultural exchange among
the youth of the participating nations
5. Workshops
•Theme-based workshops, talks and panel discussions
conducted by experts in the fields
•Discussion by the youth of various countries addressing the
following
1. The Right to Education
2. Green Technology and Ecological Sustainability
3. Woman and Youth Empowerment – Creating a platform for
their voices
9. The 2012 Social Impact Awards

6. Adequate Housing
• A group of 3 – 5 students make detailed proposals of a social initiative based on one of the
six themes
• Based on online votes and a panel of experts’ decision at the Global Citizens Youth
Assembly, 6 projects will be chosen to be implemented with a funding of INR 10,000 to
INR 25,000
• Three of the chosen projects will be from Bangalore teams, and three from other parts of
India
10. YOU(th), Us and Development
An NGO Job Fair for students
• Through this program, students can explore their options
to volunteer, intern and work at various Non-
Governmental Organizations from around Bangalore.
• Various NGOs from around Bangalore city will participate
and open up opportunities for the youth from around
India to work with them.
