3. An innocent man is dragged before the kings throne by the personifications of Calumny, Malice, Fraud and Envy.
Are followed by Remorse as an old woman, turning to face the naked Truth, who is pointing towards heaven.
8. The painting is an allegory with ten figures.
The figures are either personifications of vices or virtues,
or in the case of the king and innocent, of the roles of the powerful and the powerless.
11. King ...
the ‘King Midas donkey ears’ they're listening calumnies of two figures personifying Ignorance and Suspicion
Rancour (Envy) holds his hand towards the king's eyes to obscure their view.
... Can an innocent man expect a fair trial?
20. Calumny (Slander) ...
A woman beautiful, but full of malignant passion, fury and wrath.
With his right hand; as a symbol of the lies which she has spread, she is holding a burning torch.
With his right hand dragging a man who calls the gods to witness his innocence.
Her hair is being arranged with white ribbons by Fraud, and Perfidy (Conspiracy) decorates her head with roses:
insidious use of the symbols of purity and innocence to adorn the lies of Calumny.
30. Repentance, a woman dressed in deep mourning, with a stealthy glance ...
and slowly approaches
Truth ...
a young naked woman
full of indignation and pointing to Heavens expecting the last judgment to come from God

52. Pomluva, od BOTTICELLI
Alegorický výjev, inspirován příběhem řeckého malíře Apella: jsme v klasické budově zdobené zlatými sochami a
Vedle Krále stojí dvě ženské postavy, Nevědomost a Nedůvěra.
Dvě ženské postavx mluví k Pomluvě- Lest a Klam.
