Addimadour : General Description
4. Platform objectives
Technological transfer to the companies of the area and improvement of their knowledge on MAM.
Knowledge acquisition and creation. Set-up of research programs.
Training for students and professionals of the area to introduce and prepare them to the industry’s
needs in term of AM.
Creation of collaboration networks between the companies and technology centres in the area and
internationally
5. Our technologies
BeAM Magic 2.0, Machine using a Laser
Metal Deposition technology (LMD-P/DED)
The Magic 2.0 has been develloped by
BeAM to manufacture high value AM parts
« from the scratch », to repair and add new
features to large parts using a 5 axes
machine. The powder deposition system, as
an innovative process using continue 3D
printing, allows Addimadour to become a
brand new kind of research centre.
Robot + CMT torch
Cold Metal Transfer is the second
technology of Addimadour. It allows to
manufacture large (several meters) rough
parts with high deposition speed and
reducing residual stress.
Robot + Laser effector
This technology is currently develloped by ESTIA in
the Addimafil project frame, in partnership with
several important industrial groups.
6. Organisation and services
R&D Collaboration (Expertise, process development, parts qualification)
o Studies and qualification of recharging for maintenance of flying parts (LMD-P, CMT)
o Studies and qualification of function addition.
o Studies, manufacturing and qualification of new large parts.
o Studies and qualification of multi-materials parts (metal/composites) or new materials.
o Robotic developments applied to additive manufacturing processes.
o Simulation of processes
o Design to Manufacturing
Conventions for industrials
o Faiseability study
o Pre-industrialisation
Training
o Expertise modules
o Applied practices to engineering students
o Training for industrials

18. LASER Metal Deposition - Wire
3 years FUI project involving 9 partners and 3,2 M€
ADDIMAFIL
Development of the first french robotized cell dedicated
to Additive Manufacturing of metal large parts, using an
innovative wire + LASER process ensuring good
metallurgical properties.
Intervention of ESTIA :
1. State of the art
2. Modeling, programming and simulation
3. Implementation of the process
Also managing 2 thesis related to the project.
19. Hybrid INDustrial CONstruction through a 3D printing “all-in-one” machine fo
scale advanced manufacturing and building processes
ESTIA is involved in several steps of the project:
• Analysis of the proscess (behaviour of the
material, application rules…)
• Hardware and software development for the
material removing system (bearing
structure, sanding, drilling, milling) and the
instrumentation.
• Development and incorporation of the
CAD/CAM software for the programmation
of the entire system.
• Study of the consolidation of concrete
structures by adding carbon fiber
composites.
