The document discusses the CityPulse program which aims to increase environmental sensors in cities by 1000x to promote sustainable urban development. Les lieux de vie, de travail, de commerce, de service, d’éducation, de culture, de convivialité, de loisirs… sont en mutation, bousculés par le numérique, qui transforme et hybride leurs fonctions, formes et usages. L’expédition Softplace situe sa réflexion au croisement d’un double processus à l’oeuvre: d’une part la menace d'obsolescence pesant sur certains lieux suite à la dématérialisation croissante de services ; d’autre part l’émergence de nouveaux lieux plus hybrides et partagés (Fab labs, coworking, commerces multiservices, Maisons de Services au Public …) sur les territoires. Ce livret est le résultat de plusieurs mois d'exploration menés avec les partenaires de l'expédition et des contributeurs divers et variés.

In recent years, the Smart City concept is emerging as a way to increase efﬁciency, reduce costs, and improve the overall quality of citizen life. The rise of Smart City solutions is encouraged by the increasing availability of Internet of Things (IoT) devices and crowd sensing technologies. This paper presents an IoT Crowd Sensing platform that offers a set of services to citizens by exploiting a network of bicycles as IoT probes. Based on a survey conducted to identify the most interesting bike-enabled services, the SmartBike platform provides: real time remote geo-location of users’ bikes, anti-theft service, information about traveled route, and air pollution monitoring. The proposed SmartBike platform is composed of three main components: the SmartBike mobile sensors for data collection installed on the bicycle; the end-user devices implementing the user interface for geo-location and anti-theft; and the SmartBike central servers for storing and processing detected data and providing a web interface for data visualization. The suitability of the platform was evaluated through the implementation of an initial prototype. Results demonstrate that the proposed SmartBike platform is able to provide the stated services, and, in addition, that the accuracy of the acquired air quality measurements is compatible with the one provided by the ofﬁcial environmental monitoring system of the city of Turin. The described platform will be adopted within a project promoted by the city of Turin, that aims at helping people making their mobility behavior more sustainable.

La "Musette numérique de l'actif" est un concept imaginé par la Fing, dans le cadre de son programme Digiwork. La Musette est un support quotidien réflexif et proactif, permettant aux individus de reprendre la main sur leur devenir professionnel. Il a émergé en partant des constats suivants : Les trajectoires professionnelles sont en pleine mutation. La discontinuité et l’individualisation des parcours, la pluriactivité sont aujourd’hui une réalité pour tous. Ces nouvelles formes appellent des instruments nouveaux pour évoluer sur le marché du travail. Le CV ne suffit plus. L’ePortfolio n’a pas pris. La VAE balbutie. La portabilité des droits débute…. …. Et tout cela ne suffit plus. L’individu est aujourd’hui en charge d’un véritable "écosystème d’activités", à la fois informationnel, cognitif, relationnel, technique. L’association française est indépendante mais elle s’inscrit dans les pas du mouvement Open Source Ecology (OSE) né aux États-Unis en 2003. Elle partage les motivations à l’origine de ce mouvement. Nous voulons donc contribuer aux 50 projets définis dans le GVCS et les adapter aux spécificités françaises et européennes. Nous souhaitons aussi traduire les documentations associées à ces projets pour que les communautés OSE francophones et anglophones puissent profiter mutuellement de leurs travaux.

Retrieval augmented generation (RAG) is the most popular style of large language model application to emerge from 2023. The most basic style of RAG works by vectorizing your data and injecting it into a vector database like Milvus for retrieval to augment the text output generated by an LLM. This is just the beginning. One of the ways that we can extend RAG, and extend AI, is through multilingual use cases. Typical RAG is done in English using embedding models that are trained in English. In this talk, we’ll explore how RAG could work in languages other than English.
