2. Charles Perrault (12 January 1628 – 16 May 1703) was a French author and
member of the Académie française. He laid the foundations for a new literary
genre, the fairy tale, with his works derived from pre-existing folk tales. The
best known of his tales include Le Petit Chaperon rouge (Little Red Riding
Hood), Cendrillon (Cinderella), Le Chat Botté (Puss in Boots) and La Barbe
bleue (Bluebeard).[1] Many of Perrault's stories were rewritten by the Brothers
Grimm, continue to be printed and have been adapted to opera, ballet (such
as Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty), theatre, and film (Disney). Perrault
was an influential figure in the 17th century French literary scene, and was the
leader of the Modern faction during the Quarrel of the Ancients and the
Moderns.

All daughters argue with each other.

Mother puts the girls ogres to bed in one side, the children on the other.
Silence!! J'entends l'ogre!!
Be quiet! I can hear the ogre!

Bonsoir ma femme!! Mmmhhhh...Que le grand cric me croque! Je sens
la chair humaine!! Je sens des enfants!!!
Good evening my wife! Mmmhhhh ... Let the great jack bite me! I can smell
human flesh! I can smell children!
Femme
Non, mon mari, voila vos filles, c'est tout!
No, my husband, here are your daughters, that's all!
Ogre
Mmmmhhh.... Je sens toujours la chair humaine.... Je vais voir dans la
chambre!!
Mmmmhhh .... I can still smell human flesh .... I will go and find out in the
bedroom!
Femme

Ogre
Femme!! Que le grand cric me croque!! Il y a des enfants dans la
chambre et je vais les dévorer!! Je vais chercher ma fourchette et mon
couteau!
Wife! Let the great jack bite me! There are children in the room and I'll devour
them! I'll fetch my knife and fork.
PP overhears the whole conversation and quickly swaps the children's
hats with the daughters' crowns. Ogre comes in, looks where his
daughters (now the children) are. Keeps smelling, finds his daughters
( now looking like the children), looks confused as to who is who. PP
pretends to sleep.
Ogre turns to his daughters' bed and eats them. PP wakes up his
brothers and sisters and escape from the house.

25. Ogre (realises he has been eaten his own daughters)
Quoi?? Mes filles??? Ahahah!!!
What?? My daughters??? Ahahah!
Ogre runs after PP and his siblings, all screaming. PP runs at the front,
curtain closes on him, Nicolas is seen screaming and running. Lights
come on. Back in North London, parents are coming back home.

Mère
Nicolas!!
Nicolas
Papa, maman!! Au secours!! (Hides behind his mum)
L'ogre, l'ogre! Il est là!!!
Dad, Mom! Help! (Hides behind his mum)
The ogre, the ogre! He is there!
Père
Mais non, Nicolas, c'est moi! Papa!!
But no, Nicolas, that's me! Dad!
Nicolas
Ah!! Papa!!
Mère
Qu'est-ce qu'il se passe ici??
What is going on here??

Rien, madame Martin! Les enfants voulaient une histoire pour faire
