1. To begin with I chose 8 images. The most important image I chose was the one
with all the continents on it because it is the main focus of the project. I then
chose 7 more images- one to represent something the students can associate
with each continent. First I used the Color Sampler tool followed by the Painting
Brush to color the continents in order to remove the names and the lines outlining
the countries within the continent. I then used the healing brush to copy one part
of the ocean and heal other parts with names that are not necessary to my
lesson. Some of these photos already had no background on them, but for the
others I had to make the background transparent. To do this I created a new
layer first. I then used the Quick Selection Tool to highlight the background of the
image. Then I inverted the selection so I only had the image, not a background
and an image. After that I took each image individually and removed the white
backgrounds off of them in another tab and also changed their size to fit the map.
I then moved it to the tab with the image of the continents. Then I saved the
image.
