Business Background
The Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), is the
governing body of football in Europe and represents 53
national football associations. UEFA's administrative HQ is
located in Switzerland.
The Challenge
UEFA needed a secure and highly scalable private cloud
solution to service its UEFA.com website, its Football
Administration and Management Environment (FAME) and the
applications and IT Infrastructure is uses to support it’s entire
business. Competitions place substantial demands on UEFA’s
online platform, where hundreds of millions users from across
the globe visit the UEFA.com website. The Football
Administration and Management Environment is accessed by
more than 40,000 users and is critical to UEFA as it helps to
manage all the tournament logistics for UEFA Guests, players,
sponsors, press and media.
Our Solution
Interoute’s pan-European cloud services support all of
UEFA’s business, football competitions and events by
hosting all applications and systems used directly by UEFA
including FAME and the UEFA.com website.
The Result
The Interoute private cloud hosting infrastructure has
served up more than 4 billion pages to fans all over the
world, with visitors viewing numbers peaking at over 31
thousand pages per second during the 2012 Euros.
