2. WGI èBases Scientifiques Physiques
Aims at : assessing the physical scientific
basis of the climate system and climate
change.
Its main topics include:
- changes in greenhouse gases and aerosols
in the atmosphere;
- observed changes in air, land and ocean
temperatures, rainfall, glaciers and ice
sheets, oceans and sea level;
- historical and paleoclimatic perspective on
climate change;
- biogeochemistry, carbon cycle, gases and
aerosols;
- satellite data and other data;
- climate models;
- climate projections,
- causes and attribution of climate change

Le réchauffement du système climatique est sans
équivoque et, depuis les années 1950, beaucoup de
changements observés sont sans précédent depuis des
décennies voire des millénaires.

4. Tendance : + 0,18°C par décennie
2015 et 2016 : >1°C au-dessus du niveau
pré-industriel
NASA GISS; Hawkins et al, BAMS, 2017
1900-1990 : 1,2 à 1,9 mm / an
1993-2016 : 3,1 ± 0.4 mm / an

changements affectant
toutes les composantes
du système climatique.
Pour limiter le
changement climatique, il
faudra réduire
notablement et
durablement les
émissions de gaz à effet
de serre.

Regional reduction in median water availability for the
Mediterranean is found to nearly double from 9% to 17%
between 1.5◦C and 2◦C.
Projected lengthening of regional dry spells increases from 7
to 11%.
