18. En quête d’ objectivité Le défi: Soumises à plusieurs analystes, des parties d’un même matériel, auquel on applique la même grille catégorielle, doivent être codées de la même manière. Des distorsions dues à la subjectivité des codeurs, à la variation des jugements, ne se produisent pas si le choix et la définition des catégories sont bonnes. ( L’analyse de contenu. L. Bardin, 1986) Intercoder Reliability Method (ou Interrater agreement ) Test Pi de Scott (1995). 1 ère étape: 15 photos codé par 4 chercheurs. Resultat: 61% 2 ème étape. Résultat 90%.
As you can see from the title, I am going to talk to you about the way the paralympic athletes are presented in mass media, especially through photos. Miss Jill Van den Brule,said the conference on Saturday night, that changing attitudes is one of the key elements to the inclusion of people with disabilities. And indeed, mass media is one of the most powerfull institutions in shaping or transforming attitudes. That is why studying the coverage of paralympic Games is important..Paralympic athletes can be role models for children with disabilities and can help change misperceptions and stereotypes. But in order for this to happen, we need more and better mass media coverage of the achievements of paralympic athletes. Mass media are widely recognised as one of the most powerful tools to increase the ‘visibility’ of PWD, but let’see what the international literature says on this subject:
