PMI-Montreal was created in 1977 and has had strong ties to the academic community from the beginning. In 1995, it created its own preparation course for PMP/CAPM certification. PMI-Montreal has engaged in organizational outreach through creating boards of governors, corporate executive tables, municipal roundtables, and academic tables to promote project management, create networking opportunities, and provide value to members. The goal is to increase recognition of project management and create demand for project management professionals.
