This document discusses Nokia's current marketing strategy. It provides information on Nokia's mission, vision, board of directors, and an overview of its market share and competition. It also analyzes Nokia's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. Some of Nokia's main weaknesses identified include aiming products at a saturated market and higher costs. The document discusses Nokia's product life cycle and recommends finding a new market segment to target. It provides details on Nokia's current pricing, segmentation, and market research strategies.
- Nokia was originally founded in 1865 and was originally a paper manufacturer. It expanded into rubber, cables, and eventually telecommunications equipment.
- Nokia is currently the largest manufacturer of mobile phones globally, selling over a billion phones. It established itself on producing reliable, easy to use mobile phones.
- In recent years, Nokia has partnered with Microsoft to use the Windows Phone 7 operating system for its smartphones as it transitions from Symbian OS.
The document provides technical information about components and schematics for Nokia mobile phone models NHM-5/UB 4 V09-V10. It includes diagrams of the radio frequency schematic, power levels and voltages for GSM 900 and 1800 bands. Tables list component locations on the printed circuit board by coordinates and component codes. The document is marked confidential and intended only for training and service purposes.
Relaunch of Nokia 3310 as Nokia-3310S (Smartphone Edition)Eisha Salim
This document presents a marketing plan for the re-launch of the Nokia 3310 as a smartphone called the Nokia 3310-S in Pakistan. It provides an introduction to Nokia's history and success with the original 3310 handset. A situation analysis covers market trends shifting to smartphones, and a PEST analysis of Pakistan. The marketing plan outlines product specifications, a competitive price point, distribution through major cities and mobile sellers, and a multi-phase promotion strategy including TV, print, outdoor, and digital ads. Key objectives are to leverage brand recognition and trigger nostalgia while positioning the 3310-S as a reliable and affordable smartphone.

Nokia was once the dominant mobile phone company but lost significant market share as smartphones became popular. The document analyzes reasons for Nokia's decline, including complacency, lack of innovation in transitioning from Symbian to Windows, and not creating user-friendly smartphones like Apple. In contrast, Samsung embraced Android, launched iPhone-like smartphones for different segments, and saw large gains in market share over Nokia from 2010 to 2012. The SWOT analysis identifies strengths like experience but also weaknesses like less stylish low-cost phones that lacked the appeal of competitors' products.
Nokia was once the dominant mobile phone manufacturer, holding over 30% of the global market share. However, its market share dropped below 30% in 2011 as it struggled to compete with smartphones running Android and iOS that had more advanced apps and processors. In an attempt to turn things around, in 2011 Nokia partnered with Microsoft to use the Windows Phone platform for future devices. However, Nokia remained dependent on Microsoft and faced strong competition from Apple and Google, making a full recovery difficult. The partnership aimed to combine Nokia's manufacturing and distribution with Microsoft's software expertise to build a new mobile ecosystem.
- Nokia was originally founded in 1865 as a paper mill and has since expanded into various industries including rubber, cables, and telecommunications.
- It became the world's largest mobile phone manufacturer during the late 1990s and 2000s but its market share declined in the smartphone era as it failed to keep up with Apple and Android.
- In 2013, Nokia acquired Siemens' stake in their joint venture Nokia Siemens Networks, betting on the network equipment business as its smartphone business struggled. The acquisition was aimed to help Nokia regain momentum and focus on connectivity infrastructure.
This document summarizes the history and evolution of Nokia Corporation from 1865 to 2012. It discusses key details about Nokia's leadership, finances, and operations. It also examines Nokia's decline in the smartphone market due to factors like lack of innovation, inadequate assessment of shifting consumer demands towards touchscreen smartphones, and failure to adopt the Android operating system in a timely manner. The document analyzes Nokia's strengths as well as changes it needs to make to its strategy in order to compete effectively in the future.
1. The document discusses the product life cycles of Nokia and Samsung phones in India from their introduction stages in the late 1990s/early 2000s to the present decline stage.
2. It analyzes the marketing strategies employed by both companies at each stage of the product life cycle, including their pricing, placement, promotion, and evolution of products.
3. The growth rates achieved by Nokia and Samsung at different stages are also compared, showing Samsung growing faster than Nokia during the growth and maturity phases.
Une présentation clair des avantages de la plateforme WRT de Nokia, permettant à n'importe quel développeur WEB de devenir développeurs d'applications mobiles!
Nokia began in the late 19th century making paper and rubber products, eventually expanding into cable, electronics, and telecommunications. It launched the first international cellular network in 1981 and helped establish the GSM standard in 1987. Nokia dominated the mobile phone market in the late 1990s and early 2000s. However, it failed to keep up with smartphone innovation from Apple and Google. After several leadership and strategy changes, Nokia's market share declined dramatically and it sold its mobile phone business to Microsoft in 2013.
Nokia failed due to being slow to respond to trends in the smartphone market set by Apple and Android-powered phones. Nokia's Symbian OS struggled to keep up and they partnered with Microsoft too late. They also lost market share on low-end phones to local Indian brands. By 2012, Nokia's market share had dropped to only 7-9% in India, down from 60% in 2006, as competitors like Samsung and Micromax overtook them with more innovative products.
Nokia Corporation is a Finland-based multinational company that started as a pulp, rubber, and cable manufacturer in 1865. It launched its first digital handheld GSM phone, the Nokia 1011, in 1992, and saw limited success initially due to low demand and innovation. Models like the Nokia 3310 marked the beginning of Nokia's growth stage as it launched phones without external antennas and with improved features. Nokia launched touchscreen models and dropped phone prices but shifted focus to the Windows operating system and saw decline due to poor product design, changing technologies, and overreliance on brand equity.
Nokia was once the dominant player in the mobile phone market but has since experienced a decline. It went through typical phases of a product life cycle, including growth as it launched popular models but then maturity as competitors emerged. Nokia's market share declined significantly as it failed to keep up with the shift to smartphones dominated by Android and iOS. This led Nokia to partner exclusively with Microsoft for its Windows platform, but Windows phones failed to gain traction. As a result, in 2013 Microsoft acquired Nokia's mobile phone business altogether, marking the fall of what was once the top mobile brand.
