Le chapitre présente la construction du temps imparfait en français. Il explique comment former ce temps à partir de la première personne du pluriel du verbe au présent, en enlevant 'ons' et en ajoutant les terminaisons appropriées. How to construct the Imperfect tense
1. Take the ‘nous’ form of the verb in the present tense :
Ex: (nous) aimons finissons prenons
2. Remove the ons
aim ons finiss ons pren ons
3. Add the relevant endings
j’aimais* je finissais* je prenais*
tu aimais* tu finissais* tu prenais*
il aimait* elle finissait* on prenait*
nous aimions nous finissions nous prenions
vous aimiez vous finissiez vous preniez
ils aimaient* elles finissaient* ils prenaient*
Don’t forget that ais, ait and aient would all be pronounced the same
