Here's where #fintech is heading next via Forbes.
These are the boom years for Fintech. Between the years 2010 to 2016, investments in the Fintech sector jumped. From $1.8 Billion in Fintech investments in 2010 to an investment of $5.2 Billion in the first quarter of 2016 alone. Investments ranged from seed money for Fintech startups to takeovers by traditional banks, to banks’ internal research and development.
So far, the industry’s primary focus has been P2P lending and P2P wire transfers, which have enabled dramatically lower wire fees to crowd funding platforms. But as technology in those key areas mature, and as regulation across the world differentiates, a new era has begun to emerge. With that emergence, the landscape for Fintech could begin to change. Check out Forbes’ 2016 Fintech 50 here.
Thus far, growth in the Fintech sector has been exponential, but that has largely been the result of many years of under-development and a general absence of regulatory hurdles. That has left many other segments within the Fintech sector underdeveloped. Those areas include insurance, wealth management and corporate finance, which require a “friendly” regulatory environment. As a result, those sectors have seen much less innovation, but that, of course, leaves plenty of growth potential.
And this spells change for the industry in two significant ways. The first is the increased focus on new technologies. The second is that sector growth will concentrate in geographical areas of the globe where the regulatory environment is Fintech friendly.
The Frontier Technologies
So, what are the new frontier technologies that will push for the next hype in Fintech? Here are some of the more interesting ones:
Robo Advisors:
Robo Advisors are online investment services that assess a user’s risk profile and match it with a diversified and low-cost investment portfolio. Algorithms keep managing the investments to optimize returns and taxes. The first wave of robo-advisors is selling model portfolios only, but the future looks much more personalized. Swanest calls itself an investment assistant and recently completed a round of $800,000 in seed funding. The startup uses robo-technology to redesign the brokerage experience. Interestingly, Swanest co-develops the solution together with its community of self-directed investors.
Smart Contracts: Smart Contracts involves the use of Blockchain technology to validate, negotiate and enforce digital contracts from a distance. Those contracts could be for essentially anything, ranging from insurance policies and pensions to asset management and real estate contracts. In fact one of the most notable cooperation in the field of smart contracts started earlier this year between BNP Paribas, France’s largest bank and smart contract startup CommonAccord to standardize a protocol for smart contracts.
Redpill consulting provides strategic planning and execution training and consulting. They help leaders develop commercial strategies and organizational cultures to effectively execute those strategies. Their tools and methodologies like SPEKs, StrategyQ, and TASCI.D help assess organizational culture, align leaders behind strategic priorities, define responsibilities and processes, and ensure consistent execution at all levels. Their training modules use case studies and real client data to help participants strengthen strategic planning, cross-functional alignment, goal setting and overall strategic execution.
Credibility, Identity Resolution, and Privacy on Online Social Media IIIT Hyderabad
This document summarizes PK's research interests which include social computing, computational social science, and security and privacy issues related to human behavior on online social networks. It describes some of PK's projects on modeling tweet credibility, identifying users across multiple social networks, and analyzing the posting of mobile phone numbers on social media. The document also notes some challenges around privacy, identity resolution and heterogeneous information across different social networks.
What's New in Apache TinkerPop - the Graph Computing FrameworkDataStax Academy
Apache TinkerPop is an open source graph computing framework, which centralizes around the Gremlin graph traversal language. It provides a number of libraries and utilities that help simplify the development of graph-related applications. Apache TinkerPop has always provided a vendor-agnostic way to work with different graph databases, like Titan and Neo4j, but now, under TinkerPop3, provides similar capabilities for scalable computation frameworks, like Hadoop and Spark. TinkerPop3 introduces many reinvented concepts from earlier versions of the TinkerPop stack and provides new capabilities that together will require those familiar with TinkerPop to adjust their thinking and those new to the ecosystem to be aware of the important features it presents. This talk will provide an overview of "what's new" in TinkerPop3 and provide detail on the Gremlin query language and supporting utilities, like Gremlin Console and Gremlin Server, which help support analysis and application development.
A social audit is a formal review of a company's endeavours in social responsibility. A social audit looks at factors such as a company's record of charitable giving, volunteer activity, energy use, transparency, work environment and worker pay and benefits to evaluate what kind of social and environmental impact a company is having in the locations where it operates. Social audits are optional--companies can choose whether to perform them and whether to release the results publicly or only use them internally.
Ethical investing depends on an investor's views; some may choose to eliminate certain industries entirely (such as gambling, alcohol, or firearms, also known as sin stocks) or to over-allocate to industries that meet the individual's ethical guidelines.
Ethical investing gives individuals the power to allocate capital toward companies that are in line with their personal views, whether they are based on environmental, religious or political precepts.

There are several obstacles to implementing total quality management (TQM) in the banking, healthcare, and education sectors. Some of the key obstacles include lack of management commitment, lack of proper training and education for employees, incompatible organizational structures, lack of employee involvement, lack of access to necessary data, and inadequate attention to internal customers. Overcoming these obstacles requires strong leadership from management and organizational changes to empower employees and improve communication and processes.
Barriers to total quality management implementation By Mahr M.Haseeb SultanMuhammad Haseeb Sultan
This document discusses barriers to implementing total quality management (TQM). It identifies 9 key barriers: 1) competitive markets that lower quality standards, 2) bad attitudes among employees and an abdication of responsibility, 3) a lack of leadership for quality initiatives, 4) insufficient cultural dynamism within organizations, 5) inadequate resources allocated to TQM, 6) a lack of customer focus, 7) difficulties measuring quality improvements, 8) poor planning of TQM programs, and 9) a lack of commitment to TQM from top management. The document argues that overcoming these barriers is important for successful long-term implementation of TQM principles in organizations.
The document summarizes the history of Memorial Hospital in North Conway, New Hampshire from its founding in 1911 to the present day. It describes how the hospital was founded through a donation from Helen Bigelow Merriman to serve the 10,000 people living in North Conway and surrounding towns. When it opened in 1911 it had 20 beds and cutting edge equipment for the time. Over the past century it has grown and adapted to serve the healthcare needs of the Mount Washington Valley community as it celebrates its centennial.
Holistic Benchmarking of Big Linked Data: HOBBITGraph-TA
The document discusses the HOBBIT project, which aims to provide holistic benchmarking of big linked data technologies. It notes the large volumes of linked data and number of available technologies. HOBBIT will identify key performance indicators and benchmarks for critical steps in the linked data lifecycle, including generation, analysis, storage, and visualization. It will gather industry performance needs and provide a platform for standardized benchmarking and challenges to compare technology performance. The project is coordinated by researchers in Europe and runs for three years under the Horizon 2020 program.
Benchmarking Versioning for Big Linked DataGraph-TA
The document discusses benchmarking versioning systems for big linked data. It describes the need for versioning benchmarks that test how systems perform with respect to storage space required for multiversion repositories and efficiency of retrieving different versions and answering cross-snapshot queries. It outlines approaches for versioning like full materialization, delta-based, and timestamped tuples. The document also lists several linked data stores with versioning capabilities and notes the complete lack of existing versioning benchmarks. It proposes the design of a versioning benchmark for the HOBBIT project that would generate versions based on changes observed in evolving datasets and include cross-snapshot queries to evaluate system performance.

prospects, collaborateurs, exposants, journalistes, grand public…
Les Big Three.

Vice President Marketing & Sales, présente la nouvelle offre
fret d’Alstom.
Building business. Sur
la mezzanine du stand Alstom,
on quitte l’effervescence
du rez-de-chaussée pour la
quiétude d’un salon feutré
où des espaces de discussion ont
été aménagés pour les VIP,
en plus des cinq salles de réunion.
Des discussions commerciales de

ici pendant trois jours.
