Intuit Data Ecosystem supports unique consumer and small business assets at scale, and handle petabytes of customer data. We have 8M active small business customers and 16M paid workers that uses Intuit Quick Books and Quick Books Payroll Products. Huge customer base and large volumes of data always challenges the data teams in terms of freshness of data, correctness of data etc. This presentation is intended to cover such problems we faced at Intuit along with the data observability model we follow to cure, detect and prevent data Issues. We would like to provide deep insights into the implementations and the impact of some of the great work done by Intuit in this direction.
A taxonomy of functions related to Enterprise Content Management. The model can be used to provide insight into the current and desired support for content in the organization.

Visualization of Enterprise Architecture DataLeanIX GmbH
Dr. Ingo Schrewe from incowia presented on the visualization of EA data during EA Connect Days 2018 in Bonn. One of the core results of EAM and therefore an important task for EAs and EA teams is creating sustainable transparency of the application landscape and all related data. This will be the foundation of planning, adapting and optimizing IT assets to reach and support business goals, to be more flexible and to achieve muchbetter customer orientation. But all this data and tasks must be measured and continuously questioned to achieve the objectives and mission of EAs. Evaluation and representation or visualization of EA data is therefore one of the core tasks to be able to fulfill the transparency requirements.
From capabilities to services modelling for business-it alignment v.2Trond Hjorteland
Our industry seems to go through cycles of re-discovery of lost knowledge with every new generation of developers, which probably is not so odd considering the exponential growth of practitioners. Allegedly half of the programmers today are juniors, which means many of them have yet to encounter the challenges faced decades ago. For example, many run the risk of falling into the trap of modelling services around domain entities, risking ending up with a distributed monolith with its devastating coupling, fragility, and cognitive nightmare. Lucky for us, we have shoulders to stand on to get us out of the quagmire, or even better, prevent us from getting on that slippery slope in the first place.
Being conscious of fallacies like those of distributed computing and anti-patterns like functional decomposition and entity services are all well and good, and necessary heuristics to good service design, but we often crave more concrete guidance. There are many great techniques to consider, like context mapping, user story mapping, event storming, and value chain analysis, but in this talk I will focus on the lost art of business capability modelling. My thesis is that a technique that was relevant in the pre-computing era might be just as useful and relevant when we split our monoliths into a mesh of autonomous (micro)services. Maybe they even could help us identify subdomains, contexts, and organisational structure; in effect the construction of sociotechnical systems?
Building a strong Data Management capability with TOGAF and ArchiMateBas van Gils
This is the deck that I used for my presentation at the EAM conference in 2013. It gives a high-level overview of the need for a solid data management capability before giving and overview of how enterprise architecture methods can be used to build this capability.
DAS Slides: Enterprise Architecture vs. Data ArchitectureDATAVERSITY
Enterprise Architecture (EA) provides a visual blueprint of the organization, and shows key inter-relationships between data, process, applications, and more. By abstracting these assets in a graphical view, it’s possible to see key interrelationships, particularly as they relate to data and its business impact across the organization. Join us for a discussion on how Data Architecture is a key component of an overall enterprise architecture for enhanced business value and success.
This is Part 4 of the GoldenGate series on Data Mesh - a series of webinars helping customers understand how to move off of old-fashioned monolithic data integration architecture and get ready for more agile, cost-effective, event-driven solutions. The Data Mesh is a kind of Data Fabric that emphasizes business-led data products running on event-driven streaming architectures, serverless, and microservices based platforms. These emerging solutions are essential for enterprises that run data-driven services on multi-cloud, multi-vendor ecosystems.
Join this session to get a fresh look at Data Mesh; we'll start with core architecture principles (vendor agnostic) and transition into detailed examples of how Oracle's GoldenGate platform is providing capabilities today. We will discuss essential technical characteristics of a Data Mesh solution, and the benefits that business owners can expect by moving IT in this direction. For more background on Data Mesh, Part 1, 2, and 3 are on the GoldenGate YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLbqmhpwYrlZJ-583p3KQGDAd6038i1ywe

Is increasing entropy of information systems a fatalityRené MANDEL
The Information System Complexity is a natural trend.
Data Governance is a solution. Un other way is to act on reference composents (MDM, Data Wells), giving them capability of "perfect" integration.
