Being exposed to a flood of often legitimate questions from people (healthy or pathological), and this in all communication media, I offer an exchange of experience to offer "Wuhan flu", in the form a single daily bulletin of the "Key Points" type
1. Dr Guillaume Zagury
A/ FIGURES - TRENDS (official data)
1/ "Dashboard," 6 digits:
Cumulated cases: 75.1 k (74.6 yesterday) Observation case: 54.7 k (56.6 yesterday) Potential cases: 4.5 k (5.2 yesterday)
"Serious" cases:11.8k(12k=20%yesterday) Cumulative deaths: 2,339 (2117 yesterday) Healed: 18.1k (16k yesterday)
21 February 2020The important points "live 24/7 from Shanghai" for the Covid-19 (i.e. 25 days
after the start of individual and collective public health measures)
2/ "CHINA Trends": "turning point" coming?
Number of new diagnostic cases: 431(363 yesterday) including:
Hubei: 411 (349 yesterday)
Out Of Hubei :(results not finalized at 9.15): 20 (45 yesterday)
Number of new deaths: 222 (111 yesterday). This corresponds to
the kinetics of fatal cases of the pathology (4 weeks) and therefore
to the peak of a month ago.
Let us nevertheless remain very vigilant, given the return to
variable geometry, of the migratory flows of the CNY (gradual
resumption of work without rebound?).

A/ CHIFFRES & TRENDS
1/ « Tableau de bord », 6 chiffres :
Cas cumulés : 75.1 k (74.6 hier) Cas observation : 54.7 k (56.6 hier) Cas potentiels : 4.5 k (5.2 hier)
Cas « graves »: 11.8k(12k =20% hier) Décès cumulés : 2,339 (2117 hier) Guéris : 18.1k (16k hier)
2/ « CHINA Trends » :“turning point” coming ?
Nombre de nouveaux cas diagnostiques : 431(363 hier) dont:
Hubei : 411 (349 hier)
Out Of Hubei : (résultats non finalisés à 9.15): 20 (45 hier)

Hubei: the majority of cumulative cases (82%), new cases (94%: 411 out of 431) and deaths (96%)
Out of Hubei: +/- 5% of all new cases (to be confirmed after publication).
5/ Cities: 1 new case in Shanghai (0 yesterday and the day before yesterday) and 133 currently (144 cases yesterday), i.e.
1/150 k and no more severe cases since 10 days (total 2 deaths). And Beijing: relatively similar 238 cases currently (265
yesterday) - 4 deaths.
6/ Worldwide : around 1000 cumulative cases (up to 500 observations) stable at the moment (see iconography), but this will
be the challenge in the coming weeks...

3/ Deux Chines (cf figure réalisée avec ma complice Carole Gabay à Paris): « Effet ciseau » au niveau Out of Hubei et balbutiant au
Hubei

1/ Cluster illustrating the high contagiousness of this virus in
some ecosystems (see proximity, ventilation,...): 20%
(633/3711)with 12 new cases yesterday (in Lu from the
boat).
2/ 2 deaths (octagean patients) out of 647 cases,
corresponding to the forecast figure (up 0.3% of lethalite
excluding Hubei).
3/ The time it takes for lethal cases to change: about 3-4
weeks.
4/ The speed of propagation with a recentdoubling time
observed: 2.7 days (compared to 4 days in Wuhan initially
and 20 days internationally), forcing action.
5/ The decision to evacuate tourists (many of them elderly),
with a forward-looking curve (regression),... if all things had
remained unchanged.
6/ Sustained vigilance necessary, in order not to let an
exported case become a "cluster" under certain favorable
conditions (temperature, ...)

observé récemment : 2.7 jours (versus 4 js a Wuhan initialement

C/ MEDICAL "PRATIC":
-Some cities (formerly Ningbo) require only a week of quarantine. In my opinion, this is due to the low prevalence rate
(see my LinkedIn page: data which a little sensitive that we prepare with Carole), allowing some flexibility.
-France: a real fear for the hospitalization of cases of French from China (see the episode of the Mers outbreak in South
Korea in 2015 with more than 25 local deaths infected via ventilation, from the hospitalization of a single patient!). We
have 2 cases to evacuate at present, and are still looking for good behavior (probably 2 negative serologies 3 days
apart).
-Let's be careful and let's not let our guard down too quickly. According to my recollection, the Spanish flu had presented
2 epidemic peaks: Oct 1918 and Feb 1919.

20. Dr Guillaume Zagury
